Footnotes in Separate Detached Frame.
It is a very important feature to be able to customise the layout of footnotes with full control. Currently footnotes in InDesign are attached to the main text frame, & you have no control over it.
We suggest being able to have footnotes in a separate fully customisable text frame, while still being linked to the main frame!

Unbelievable that Adobe haven't done anything with this yet…

The feature doesn't exist yet?
I guess the only way is to hijack the feature and use variable text instead -

also sometimes in a single column text frame we need the footnotes to be in 2 columns.

So what's the solution? It's silly that the option isnt available!

Please upgrade flexibility of notes features.
Ideally each individual footnote can have its own specified frame. When you add a footnote, it defaults to "this" frame. But you can edit the footnote and select any other frame for it that you want.

So annoying! Very Word-ish if you ask me.
