1. Customise Home / Welcome Screen in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.. possibly all Adobe programs.

   I work across a variety of Adobe programs and have MANY custom templates I use on a daily basis.

   It would be great to have the ability to customise the indesign / photoshop / illustrator welcome screen to have shortcuts to my custom templates I use on a daily basis. This could be placed next to "Recent" with "Your Custom Templates" .. something like this.

2. Find/change table stroke

   When using Find/Change and selecting the tab to search for object attributes it's possible to search for a specific stroke width, color etc. But it does not look for that in tables. So if you don't use table or cell formating you have to select and find those attributes by hand. Couldn't there be a tab for searching attributes in tables as well?

3. Option to Set Default Save Location for AI-Generated Content to Project Folder in InDesign

   Thank you for introducing the new AI-powered image generation feature in InDesign.
   I would like to suggest an improvement to the way AI-generated content is stored. Currently, these assets are saved by default to the local user folder, which can become problematic when multiple team members need to collaborate on a project. Since the assets are not stored within the shared project folder, this can lead to missing files or confusion when the document is opened by someone else.

   It would be highly beneficial to have an option that allows users to set the default save location for AI-generated content directly to the project folder. This would ensure that all assets are easily accessible and properly organized within team environments.

   Thank you for considering this feature enhancement, and I look forward to seeing how InDesign continues to evolve.

4. Add "Reveal in Explorer" option in Windows version

   Why isn't this feature available on the Windows version of InDesign? It's always been there on the Mac version. When right-clicking on an open document's tab, there should be an option at the bottom that allows revealing the current document in Explorer.
   This feature is even available in Photoshop for both versions as well! It should have been added for feature parity long ago and it's a useful feature to have.

   Widows and Orphans - Adjustable parameters for "Balance Ragged Lines" feature

   I layout brochures for conferences, and being able to adjust all my paragraph styles so that the balance ragged lines feature will allow me to set, if orphan then use 2 words.

   Right now i feel as if its balancing them by look and feel, not by actual word count.

   i am aware or GREP etc, but could never get it to work properly (Granted i an novice in using them)

6. Update text box design so that the middle bottom anchor point isn't almost always hidden by "Explore more text options" / "O" icon

   The text box needs an update. I can almost never adjust the size of my text boxes from the middle bottom anchorpoint, butcause the "O" icon for "Explore More Text Options" is on top of it or near enough to it that I can't select the anchorpoint. I need to be able to resize text boxes from the bottom middle anchorpoint. Adjusting the size with the bottom right anchorpoint isn't a usually a good option because the width will change slightly.

   Fix this issue by moving the O icon away from any anchorpoints outside of the box somewhere.

7. More functionality and control with form fields

   Please add the ability to set leading in form fields. Many clients want to print lines for writing but also have multi-line fillable text fields. It's nearly impossible to create this and have it look good. Would be awesome if form fields used paragraph styles for formatting. Please also allow the designer to change the field highlight color. The default blue isn't ideal for most designs.

8. Indesign Thumbnails for explorer WIN10

   Where is this feature? Why isn´t Adobe delivering this simple feature as other software? This would be a great feature for user expierience and I guess, it would be that hard to fix.

   When I ask Adobe for this feature, they recommend me to use a third party app - I don´t want a third party app, I expect this from Adobe for a software that I am paying a lot of money!

   So, please - anybody who is in charge, talk about this feature at your next meeting.

9. Manage Recent Files List - It's useless if you run a Book operation!

   The Recent Files list gets FILLED UP with chapter files if I run a Book operation. All my other projects get pushed off the list, even though all I did was re-paginate a book. This makes the Recents list useless! Please fix this!

   The Recent Files list MUST BE MANAGEABLE if it is to be useful. Files get "touched" for very trivial reasons, sometimes just to look at something in the file. This results in an almost random listing of Recents. Please understand how a Recents list can be useful -- don't just blindly list files by "changed date".

10. In Find/replace be able to find specifically an upper or lower case version of the search

    Several fonts have kerning issues. Specifically capital Y and lower case o like in words such as You. The Yo tends to look like Y ou. Lowercase usually looks fine. The request is to be able to find specifically a cap or lower case version of a letter or group of letters. In the Y o example putting a negative tracking on the Y will make it once again look like Yo without having to find and fix in excess of 80 You, yours, etc. per file.

11. Proper Relative Path Manager for Links

    Allow us the ability to specify relative paths to linked assets to aid in duplication of jobs and production work.

    A copied file will remember all static addresses to it's previous location.

    In a scenario of using templates to complete jobs where assets get replaced and flipped, you lose time linking assets to the new address when the copied ID file should be able to look within it's new HOME FOLDER, and attempt to refresh all links.

    Exporting from said file is also problematic, as the destination folder is still the "original location" and not the new file location of said template.

    This can be implemented as new file handling rules across all your documents, or per ID file in use.

12. A facility to tell what settings are 'inherited' from another style

    I think it would be beneficial to be able to quickly identify which properties in a cell style etc. inherit from a parent style.

    If you look at my child.png , it is "Based On" parent.png. However, you can't see in the child what settings have been "learned" from the parent. It would be nice if the inherited characteristics appear with a light grey background or a little star or something suitable to distinguish them from the edits that are child-specific.

    In my case, how this situation caused minor confusion is that I had "no idea" why the background fill colour for my new child cell style was coming out orange. Well, of course, I knew, but it took a while to find the setting that needed changing.

    That is because I wanted to edit the fill colour, and my mind was looking for a setting that showed up in bright orange. My brain was not thinking "search for Fill Colour", it was thinking "I'm looking for something in bright orange that shouldn't be bright orange anymore because it looks awful"; less a few swear words in between.

    Then again, maybe this inability is simply a characteristic of this particular blade for settings strokes for cell borders. I find that I need to control different attributes for each of the four borders of a cell.

    For this particular blade, it is a very confusing process. I struggle to work out what borderline I am editing and what borderline I am leaving alone. I often destroy the edits that I have made to one of the other cell borders in the process.

    I think I have figured out how to border selector works, but the choice of blue and black without any explanation as to what blue or black means is almightily confusing.

    Hi team,

    Share for review is looking fantastic, however there is one feature we really need and that is to be able to set a review deadline, is this on the cards for any time soon?

    It would be great if it worked something like this:
    – Select user or group to share with
    – Set their deadline to submit feedback
    – Automatic reminders if they haven't reviewed leading up to the deadline
    – Lock or revoke their access to view after the review deadline has passed

14. Ability to create interactive PDF forms in InDesign

    Ability to create interactive PDF forms in InDesign with all fields available as Acrobat Pro and be able to live test the form and make changes within InDesign rather than having to export the PDF each time to test the form.

    I make forms for clients and it gets very annoying when I set up hundreds of fields in InDesign and finalise a form and a client sees a typo so I have to go back in InDesign and make the fix and then re-export the file and add other fields again to it.

    Would also like a feature with it where you can convert any frame or table column or row into a form field. So that way you have field info in one column and the column on the right to it has boxes that can be highlighted and converted into form fields and they stay looking like a table.

15. Cross Reference / Hyperlink - EDITING FACILTY

    Overview
    I work on large catalogues all day (over 500 pages) and unfortunately the previous designers didnt have a naming convention for the hundreds of cross references. As a result its a MESS of meaningless names and broken links.

    Research.
    I have looked over the internet to find a solution but there doesn't seem to be one (i found a script that looked promising but it didn't work).

    Request.
    It would be great to have a panel that lists all the links/cross ref. in the document that allows you to RENAME, DELETE or EDIT the existing links.

16. Improve Preflight

    Isn’t it about time for an update and some enhancements to this great feature? Some suggestions:

    1. Change the default Preflight Profile to something realistic for quality printing. The absence of warnings is misleading, making people think that everything is fine.
    2. Divide the check for “Protected fonts” into two categories: 1. Fonts which do not allow embedding in PDF, 2. Activated Adobe fonts (the existing behaviour of flagging Adobe fonts as “not allowed” causes a lot of confusion)
    3. Change the wording “Transparency not allowed” to just “Transparency” Transparency is rarely a problem nowadays, though it is still good to check whether everything looks as expected.
    4. Give users the option to choose which kinds of transparency they want to check for, and which not – or at least between opacity, effects and overprint applied in the Attributes Panel.
    5. Give users the option to choose which kinds of bleed problems they want flagged, so they can decide if they want to include text frames (which are rarely a problem), lines, images and image frames. This would reduce the clutter that makes it all too easy to overlook something 
    6. Add an option to include Ink Limit. Looking though hundreds of pages in Separations Preview is very time consuming, and errors are easily overlooked.
    7. Make it possible to choose between the existing behaviour of zooming in on errors, and keeping the selected view. The same goes for when you are finding and replacing text an need to decide depending on the context. E.g., choosing to show a bleed error will invariable result in zooming so close that one cannot see what is happening and what can be done about it. The opposite is the case when checking large pages with lots of small images.
    8. Allow users to set a limit to how much non-proportional scaling is acceptable, such as “show only deviations larger than 3%”.
    9. Make it possible to tab through the error messages, to quickly see the Info. Or even better, add a column so one can see the values just beside the errors, instead of only in the Info window. My dream: Change the whole view to make it similar to the Links Panel, so you are free to sort errors by all kinds of criteria.
    10. When checking for colour errors, give users the options to distinguish between seeing colour warnings from images, and from the document (RGB in images may be OK, but not in the document)
    11. Make it possible to see the names of conditional text indicators which causes errors.
    12. Make it possible to check for missing links in Illustrator files.
    13. Make it possible to flag an error as being OK, and to save this info with the document.
    14. This is probably asking the impossible: It would be really cool if by some artificial intelligence you could detect “looks like 100% Black but is not” in vector graphics. With live text and graphics in InDesign itself, at least you can add unnamed colors to get an idea of the suspects, and perhaps temporarily change them to spots in order to “trick” Preflight to find them. Detecting Registration color in graphics works fine, but there are so many other varieties of black made from all the four CMYK colors, such as C=83 M=67 Y=51 K=95, which can look very ugly in print when used on thin lines or small text, and also cause problems on large areas because of too high ink coverage. Again, the only way I know is going through the whole document with Black turned off in Separations Preview, and try to spot thin lines etc. which would be safer to print in pure Black, a rather time consuming process.
    15. Bleed Hazard warnings should not depend on the document bleed settings, but only on the choices you make in Preflight options. Suppose my document setup has a bleed of 5 mm, and Preflight is set to minimum 3 mm, I will still get warnings about missing bleed for images which extend more than 3 mm outside the page margin.
    16. Paragraph marks, spaces, tabs etc. should not be marked as overset text. Please change this so that only real missing text is listed.
    17. Registration color is flagged even when it will not appear on print, like in backlists with cropped PDF’s of covers, or when illustrations are reused by placing print-ready pages from other books. Please change this so that only real problems are listed.

17. Color-code paragraph styles

    I'm working on a huge training book with dozens of styles. I've stashed them in style groups, but it is still a chore, even inside a group, to scroll, scroll, scroll to try to find the style I need -- and it is also a chore to switch among the style groups themselves -- as many of the styles are used on every page due to the nature of the material. It would be SO VERY HELPFUL if one could color-code paragraph styles (a la the Layers palette) so that when there are this many styles, the ones a person needs can be spotted and accessed more quickly. I am in and out of the paragraph palette every 5-10 seconds, scrolling, scrolling, and it's driving me nuts.

18. Restart endnote numbering within a single document

    I love that endnotes are now a feature, but am finding them to make my job more difficult as they are currently.

    I'd love to see a way to restart endnote numbering within a single document--maybe after a certain paragraph style is used or after a section break. With a multi-hundred page document, it looks more clean (both in the text and in the endnotes section) and is more manageable to have lower numbers.

19. Import PDF comments via INDB File

    It looks like Import PDF comments only works for individual document files. We use compiled book files for our authors at AuthorSupport.com. Will this be a feature that eventual can be imported via the book panel and applied to the compiled documents?

20. InDesign Document Icon Previews in macOS Finder

    Hi. Please, can we have InDesign files in MacOS Finder show the document preview. See attached screenshot for exactly what I mean.

    I have relied on 3rd party developers over the last 10+ years (ArtView and inddPreview.app) to provide this essential feature. Unfortunately Apple has dropped support for legacy plugins (so called Quick Look generators) so inddPreview.app has stopped working.

    I have over 15,000 InDesign files, and to now do what is usually a quick visual finder search is impossible with the Finder only showing the generic InDesign Document Icon. (Yes, I can use Bridge, but this is a clunky workaround for me)

    .psd files have finder document previews
    .ai files have finder document previews

    Why not InDesign?

    Hi. Please, can we have InDesign files in MacOS Finder show the document preview. See attached screenshot for exactly what I mean.

    I have relied on 3rd party developers over the last 10+ years (ArtView and inddPreview.app) to provide this essential feature. Unfortunately Apple has dropped support for legacy plugins (so called Quick Look generators) so inddPreview.app has stopped working.

    I have over 15,000 InDesign files, and to now do what is usually a quick visual finder search is impossible with the Finder only showing the generic InDesign Document Icon. (Yes, I can use Bridge, but this is a clunky… more
