Forms!
Please make a form options in Publish.
And a cool thing would be if you could see the "data" of the form under the Analytics tab.
No more sending out pdf forms, that would defiantly be nice :)

Allow spread view documents published online to be downloaded as single page view pdf's.
An InDesign document in a spread, 2-page view format that is published online turns into the same spread, 2-page view when it's downloaded as a pdf. It would be nice to add a control in the online version to allow the view to select one or two-page formats in the pdf that they downlaod.

PDF export function with the selection of which metadata or whether general metadata of pictures should be exported.
Many companies and also designers are not aware that they share sensitive content on their websites via the metadata for expamle in pictures, if these were uploaded directly after the InDesign PDF Export.
Many PDFs created with InDesign that you can find online from large companies contain very accurate, detailed information such as mails/phone numbers/patient information/non-public addresses/etc (for example Metadatas from Images embedded wihtin the exported PDF). This is a privacy conflict and in some countries a violation of existing laws.
Photoshop/Lightroom/Premiere, for example, use a check box/features to control the metadata that is exported. In InDesign this…

Export selected pages
I very frequently need to export only certain pages to PDF. I know I can type a range or multiple ranges. But it would realy speed up my professional work if I could just select the pages and hit 'Export selected pages...' in the contextual mouse menu.
This feature was present until CS6 by a plugin named HandyTools by DTP Utils.

pdf imported remarks
At the moment its only possible to accept remarks/corrections one at a time. But often in a document, there are exactly the same corrections. For example: amsterdam becomes Amsterdam (Capital A). It would be great to accept all these similar corrections at once (or be offered to accept them one at a time throughout the document). And remarks like delete page number are not supported. (masterpage elements)

Interactive button - Page destination - Acrobat
In the menu 'Objects > Interactive objects > Convert to button' one get a panel with some options with mouse over effect and macros (what the button should execute after the use interact with it). So if you choose page destination 'Go to page' and then export to PDF (interactive) you get a warning error message, that the button will be visable in Acrobat, but the 'Go to page' commande will not work.
This seems like an essential feature when dealing with interactivity.
Please make it work directly within InDesign! It would be so much smoother than the workaround to…6 votes -
Seamless editing between applications.
I want to be able to place a creative asset inside InDesign, then right click and choose "edit in Photoshop" or "edit in Illustrator", and any saved changes would reflect in the original InDesign document.
For example, I inserted an old PDF file into InDesign because it contains a logo which I do not have the vector file anymore then resized the image block to only show the logo and not the rest of the document. Now I want to create a new vector file of the logo in Illustrator, and it would save a lot of time and effort…

Auto anchor table cells in forms to export correctly to tag trees in PDF
Clients frequently want accessible forms made in table format. Please set the cell fields (graphic cells) to auto-anchor and correctly export to the tag tree in PDFs. Currently, the exports do not work well with assistive devices and require much remediation--sometimes more time to remediate than actually designing the file correctly. Note that all USA Federal Government publications, forms, etc., MUST meet Federal law regarding accessibility. Remediation in exported PDFs needs to be minimal. Thank you.

Create PDFs from Share for Review link
I am on InDesign 2023
My co-workers and I would love to have an option to create a pdf directly from the review. Sometimes they want to print out the version, and we have to create a pdf for them, so it's twice the work. This is the main reason why some of my co-workers don't like this feature, and it may end up being a reason our MarCom dept. refuses to adopt it as a way to share comments.3 votes -
New Pdf notes, needs a tool to move them out of of the way when working. and needs to stop zooming out when you click on the note text.
With PDF notes in indesign, the comment icon covers the spot that you need to make the changes. they need to be waaaay smaller or transparent or easy to move. and when you click on the comments to work out which comments are for what note icon, it zooms out rather than just panning to the icon. That would be fine, but when you have lots of stuff in the doc, indesign takes ages to zoom in and out.

Support for Multicores Performance
The most of us have powerful mutlicore computers. I think for sure indesign coult have a huge performance boost with Multicore support.
Until now only powerful 3D programs or video software uses that power. I think in addition of GPU Support it would be a significant performance boost with multi core support.
For an Example: i got a i7 Quad Core Mac. While writing a big PDF, indesign just uses 1 core.

Illustrator's color blindness proof setups available also in InDesign
t would be a big help for those of us who have to create accessible documents to have Illustrator's color blindness proof setups available also in InDesign.
Pushing a PDF to Illustrator to check this is an awkward workaround.

option to have PDF Export to output PDF using page number as prefix
Printer needs files with prefix page number. The export make no sense with it being at the end when you have different file names and won't allow the combining of multiple files with different names that I use to proof my magazines. By the way, scripts are not working using Monterey OS any more. What a disappointment.

Add additional interactive options to the buttons and forms panel
The buttons and forms panel (used for making interactive form elements for PDF) is missing several options that are available in Acrobat such as:
* insert image button
* insert date button
* insert barcode buttonThere was a request to do this but it was marked FIXED and (in my humble opinion) is far from fixed - https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/20482882-more-options-when-creating-forms-via-indesign

Accessibility—Artifact tables for layout, but keep their content
Sometimes designers use a table for layout purposes, not for a traditional spreadsheet-like matrix data in columns and rows.
Example: A table that creates a complex, multi-celled form. For layout, it's easier to create rows and columns to hold the form labels and form control fields.
However, when the form is exported to PDF, the table structure itself is not needed and often gets in the way of many assistive technologies.
Need a way to artifact the table structure itself, but retain the content within the table as live text and form fields. And of course, have it correctly…

Live Preflight reporting a false error with OpenType Type 1 fonts
InDesign's Live Preflight will wrongly flag an OpenType Type 1 (PostScript flavored) font as invalid when the font appears in a linked graphic.
To recreate:
1. Create an InDesign Preflight Profile
2. Set it to flag Type 1 fonts as Font Type Not allowed.
3. Create a new InDesign document.
4. Add text using an OpenType Type 1 font.
5. Turn on the preflight.
The preflight will not signal an error. This is expected and correct.
6. Now export a PDF of the document created.
7. Create a new InDesign document.
8. Place the PDF as a linked graphic into…43 votesThank you for reporting the issue to us.
