A way to lock a pages location in the window?
Is there a way to lock a pages location in the window? If not it would be a really great enhancement!
Such as this example where I have located the page in the center of the workspace:
SCR-20221023-hpi.pngexpand image
And then unintentionally I move it with in the frame:
SCR-20221023-hq2.pngexpand image
This could be single page or a spread.
Having the ability to, with a shortcut, set this position for this page or any page in the document to remain in the same position relative to the window.
Thanks for taking a moment to consider this!

show the name of the open file in the window name of Tabbed interface
Tabbed Interface has a Window Title that does not reflect the Document that is in Focus and being worked on. As some time tracking Apps like Rescue Time or Timely are using Window names to log time entries it would be helpful, having a more talkative window name that shows the document name of the tab that is currently in the foreground.

alt/option + new style
When you want to create a new style and have the window pop up immediatly, you have to alt+click on ne "new style" button.
The window should pop up when you simply click the "new style" button. This should be the same for other panels such as the swatches panel.3 votes -
Pop window note
I work within teams that open and close ID files. The existing noting and share for review is just too slow and complex for the majority of the work we do. It would be absolutely amazing if you could save a simple twitter style small note when saving. So when the next person that opens the file can read it as soon as it pops up on open and can either choose to keep it / ignore or dismiss the note. Which will get rid of it. And you can only save one note to the saved file which will…

Allow the 'import options' dialog window to be scaled up
When re-linking or placing a layered file it would be useful if the relevant dialog window can be scaled up. This would make it easier to select which layers are imported, especially when importing artwork that has a large number of layers (e.g. an Illustrator file). At the moment a lot of scrolling is needed especially if each layer needs to be imported into InDesign individually. Would be useful for workflow to be able to scale up the dialog window to see all layers at one time, and then select/de-select layers them from there.

Larger Colour Swatch Window and Colour Creation Tools
When creating or changing a colour in the swatch window the square that shows the colour is tiny and the dragging tools be it in RGB or CMYK are the only way to choose a colour. I feel like more options could easily be availble here in terms of how to pick a colour, like a large "rainbow" grid to drag the mouse around to select exactly what you want. The current system, larger with more fidelity would be incredible!

Bold & Underline Styles.
CMD+B and CMD+U to cycle through Bold or Underline Styles through a popup window would be handy.

In Indesign interactive PDF buttons set link destination options for opening the url
In Indesign interactive PDF buttons set link destination options for opening the url
like blank page, self etc...just like in html is possible.
So when you view a interactive PDF online and you click on a link the destination opens in a new window or tab, just like you selected in Indesign. And not only in the window you are viewing.

Character palette dropdown menu needs to expand full within workspace (revised post)
Apologies, but I posted this before but forgot to include screen grabs. In InDesign CC 2018 when I selected a typeface from the character window drop-down menu, the drop-down expanded to fill my workspace vertically no matter where my character palette was on the screen. Now in CC 2019 it only expands to show 19 or 20 fonts in a much smaller drop-down window. I would love either to go back to the way it was before or have the option to enlarge the drop-down typeface selection window.
See the difference between CC 2018 and 2019 in the screen shots.…

Document Open Window/pane.
Document Open pane. The break up of recent, earlier and older documents is confusing. I'd prefer it to alphabetical order.

Make background progress more visible
When InDesign is busy with a long running task, it isn't obvious without opening the rather janky Background Tasks window. Please add a small progressbar in the footer of the InDesign indicating that it is actually doing something and not just hung. I've used InDesign for years and only just now learned that the Background Tasks window exists. It's a very bizarre and non-obvious approach to showing the user that something is still happening in the background...

Please increase the size of Note anchors.
Note anchors are not easily seen, even when choosing the "Go to Note Anchor" option in the Notes window. It would be great to have the option to change the size of anchors.

Remove tips, Add an option to turn on/off tutorial mode
Remove tips, Add an option to turn on/off tutorial mode.
InDesign and other adobe apps constantly tell me things that I know about. This is helpful for new users, but annoying for professionals. InDesign is the industry standard and should cater to professionals while having a beginner or tutorial mode for those who are new to it.
It is unacceptable to open a window and show it to me while im working. Multiple times i've pressed ctrl z which brings up a window that says DID YOU KNOW ABOUT DOCUMENT HISTORY. Its not helpful for me personally.

Arrange features
I've been frustrated with the new way dragging a document tab to make it a seperate window forces it into a split screen first, and then I have to grab the tab again and the second time it actually makes it a new window. I'd like to be able to toggle that feature on and off (I'm sure it works for someone's workflow). Additionally, the document window edges often hides under the menu and/or below the edge of my screen. This is frustrating because it makes it hard to scale the window if the right hand corner we're meant to…

Error in InDesign
There is since several (!) updates an error in InDesign which is really stupid!
If you split the document into two windows (with the button on the right bottom) you should be able having two contents of a document. This worked for years without any problem. Bust since several version this function makes only nonsense!
We produce a lot of user guides in several languages (usually 3-4, sometimes up to 12 languages). For checking them we open as described the split screen. on the left side we use the main language (for ex. German), on the right side we have…2 votes -
Keep range highlighted in pdf window so you don't have to highlight it by hand
When selecting a pdf preset, it opens the window to name the pdf, then opens the pdf window. In InDesign 5, you were able, at that pdf window, to just type the page number of the page you wanted to create a pdf of. The range option was already highlighted automatically. This was really easy and fast when creating multiple (especially 100 or more) pdfs of single pages of your document, for example: for a magazine or booklet that has to be sent to a printer. In the new InDesign, when you get to that pdf window, you have to…

Refresh available swatches after creating a new swatch in Paragraph styles window
When you create or change a paragraph style, in the window where all the formats of the paragraph style are listed, you can change the character color, you can also create a new swatch by double clicking on the fill or stroke color icon. But once the new swatch is created, you can not imediately select it for your paragraph style, you have to change the category in the window (for example go to underline options), then go back to character color to use the new swatch.
Instead it should be that when the create new swatch dialog is closed,…1 vote
