2. Changing Document Size

   When I click OK to make my changes to the document the application crashes. I am able to preview the changes but that's it. I have tried restarting the application, restarting the computer. I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue.

   Adobe InDesign CC 13.1
   Mac OS 10.13.4
   Macbook Pro 2015 2.8 gHz i7

3. Unable to Rename Items Within a Layer

   Using Adobe InDesign Version 16.2.1

   I used to be able to click on the name of an item within a layer to be able to rename it. I am no longer able to do this. If I click the layer, it flashes once to allow me to change them name but immediately goes back to being normal. It will not allow me to change the name anymore. I never had trouble with this before.

   I am able to change the name of the actual layer by double clicking it and renaming it in the "Layer Options" pop-up box but there is no option available for the items within the layer.

   I have uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign three times now with no change.
   Of course this is not a major issue, but I do like to be able to rename the items in my layers to keep everything organised for specific files.

4. 2018 Indesign/Incopy Check In Prompt On Close Does Not Actually Check in.

   If we close Indesign or Incopy without checking in, the program will ask us if we want to. When we choose to check in, Adobe will act like it Checks In and then closes, but the changes are never saved back to the original file. Check In only works if we choose Check In manually before closing.

5. Shuts down without any error message

   Adobe Indesign v 18.2.1 on Windows 11

   The app just decides to close by its own at somepoint during the work, without any error message.

   If you open the same file again, it closes again when you repeat your last action.

   I tried saving it with another name, close the app, restart the notebook, and it keeps heappening.

   I tried starting a new file, it keeps heappening. At some point it just closes without any error message.

   I tried opening the same files at another computer (also v. 18.2.1 on win 11), with another adobe account, it keeps heappening

   I gotta finish this job till friday and I can't work because de app don't let me, it's really frustrating.

   It still doesn't show any crash report even after I set the preference to show Crash Report dialog, as it's explained at helpx.adobe.com

6. Text box (&photoBox) LAG & MOVE after clicking / editing

   When clicking on TXT box indesign freezes for about 1s then it's moving text box ON ITS OWN by few pixels (please take a look at video: 1-2s, 12-14s, 22-24s) like how is this happening??? It doesn't matter if the document is big or small, new or old - I've tried all options it's doing it every single time!!! I can't work since it;s driving me crazy FIX IT ASAP:

   INFO: Adobe InDesign v19.2, MacOS: 14.3 (23D56), MacBook Pro 16" m1 PRO, 32Gb RAM

   Additional info:
   1. tried on multiple documents all have the same poblem
   2. new document with one txt box and some copy also have the same problem after clicking
   3. tried almost everything to get rid of that stutter and txt/photo boxes moving by thier own but nothing works and trust me I'm advanced user when it comes to software

7. Custom .joboptions presets break all PDF exports in InDesign 20 (macOS 15.6.1)

   ⚠️ Critical Bug: Custom .joboptions presets instantly disable all PDF export in InDesign 20 on macOS 15 — exports appear to finish but no PDF is produced. Removing the preset restores functionality. Confirmed reproducible across multiple systems.

   InDesign 20.0 on macOS 15.6.1 silently fails to export PDFs after a custom PDF preset (.joboptions) is created or added. The export appears to complete, but no file is generated and no error message appears. Removing the custom .joboptions file immediately restores export functionality.

   This occurs even when the preset is a clean derivative of “Press Quality” or “High Quality Print,” suggesting a parsing or sandbox issue with the Adobe PDF Library in InDesign 20/macOS 15.

   Steps to Reproduce:
   Open InDesign 20.0.
   Export a document to PDF successfully using High Quality Print.
   Go to File → Adobe PDF Presets → Define → New and create a custom preset (any name).
   Export again.

   Result:
   Export appears to succeed but no PDF is produced.
   No error dialog or warning appears.

   Additional Notes:
   Reproducible on multiple Macs (Intel and Apple Silicon).
   Default .joboptions files work normally.
   Custom .joboptions files immediately break exports, including valid PostScript syntax.
   Suggests regression in sandbox access or preset parsing introduced in InDesign 20/macOS 15.

8. InDesign does not load printer settings initially

   When opening the print window, InDesign will not use the settings set in the printer driver. But if you switch to a different printer in the drop down list and then back to the first printer again, the correct settings will be loaded.
   Using latest version 14.0.3.
   Printing works fine in other Adobe-softwares and MS Office.

9. Error with InDesign (Beta): "Some files required for color management are missing"

   Hi, when I start the just-released InDesign (Beta) on Windows ARM, I get the error "Some files required for color management are missing. Please re-install the application to ensure proper functioning".

   I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and have used the Creative Cloud Cleaner, but it doesn't resolve the issue. InDesign seems to be running OK even after getting the error, so it's more of a nuisance than anything. I may run into some issues in future with color management though.

   1. Adobe InDesign (Beta) 19.5 x64 (Mainline CI #09013C9)
   2. Launch InDesign
   3. InDesign should start without any errors.
   4. The error message in the attached screenshot appears.

10. Crash when exporting to pdf - WHEN IS THIS GETTING FIXED

    So I've had this issue now for over five years and still nothing has been fixed despite me sinking thousands of pounds in subscription fees to this steaming pile of an app. We do lots of presentations that have other indesign files as links and we are constantly getting crashes when we export to pdf - I've been on with adobe with this and they insist it's corrupt files that cause this, yet when I proved to them that it wasn't they just stopped replying to them - great customer service. The crash can simply happen when adding or deleting pages then exporting, plus you can usually pdf things in two halves, proving that it's not corrupt files causing it. I've even packaged the exact same files to adobe, one with added pages, one with out and... silence.

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

12. Why can't InDesign import and edit pdfs or images without plug in

    When I try to import pdf or jpeg into Adobe InDesign 2023 desktop it says required plug in is missing. Since I am paying monthly for the full 2023 version why do I need a plug in? I am on older computer that uses Windows 10. Will I have this problem if I upgrade my computer?

13. InDesign steals focus in Windows 10 - again (2022)

    If you switch to another application, while InDesign is launching, InDesign will steal the focus back, even repeatedly if you are quick enough to switch to the other application more than once, and/or have a slow computer (e.g. battery saver mode while opening a large document may exaggerate the problem).

    I'm fairly certain that this irritating behaviour was gone from late 2017, since the earlier bug report (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/31913773-indesign-steals-focus-in-windows-10) was closed after lack of activity (3 years old) in 2021, and the old thread on the forum https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/how-to-prevent-adobe-software-stealing-focus-in-windows-10-locked/td-p/7773884/page/5 was active until late 2017. At Nov 17th 2017 users edvardkrupke and Peter Bullit wrote that the problem was gone with the latest InDesign update at that time.

    Please remove this very unwanted behaviour (again)!

14. Fenster nach Ruhezustand verschoben und kleiner

    Hallo,

    ich arbeite seit 2 Monaten mit Mac Studio und 2x Displaystudio 27 Zoll.

    Ich habe das rechte Display-Hauptfenster (1. ) festgelegt. Ich arbeite wie immer Adobe Programme Indesign Photoshop Co., deren Benutzeroberfläche bzw. Fenstern immer offen sind auch z. B. Internet Browser Safari auf linke Fenster platziert. Gesamtes System aktiviert nach 10 Minuten in Ruhezustand bzw. Bildschirmschoner, wenn ich mit dem Mac Studio nichts mache bzw. nicht arbeite.

    wenn die Display Studios /Mac Studio aus dem Ruhezustand aufgeweckt wird, sind die Fenster verschoben.

    Die Adobe Indesign, Illustrator oder Photoshop-Fenster z.B. das normalerweise am linken Bildschirm die volle Höhe einnimmt und, wird nach dem Beenden des Monitor-Ruhezustandes nur noch von etwas oberhalb der Monitormitte bis unten dargestellt (Siehe Bilder).

    Außerdem, wenn ich Photoshop starte, taucht Bedienfelder in der Mitte platziert. Ich habe meinen eigenen Arbeitsbereich festgelegt, normalerweise sollte die Bedienfelder auf rechte Seite am Rand platziert sein.

    Gibt es für dieses Problem irgendwie eine Lösung? Gibt es irgendwo eine Einstellung, die ich übersehen habe? Das nervt gewaltig und ärgerlich!

    Ich habe 3 Wochen lang mit Apple Support versucht das Problem zu lösen leider haben wir nicht geschafft. Weil die Fenster

    von etwas oberhalb der Monitormitte bis unten dargestellt wird, passiert nur Adobe Programme. Bei anderem Programme bleiben die Fenster in der Regel fehlerfrei in ihrer vorherigen Position angezeigt werden d.h. nicht bewogen.

15. Display glitch when Placing multiple images

    Adobe Indesign 2023 and prior.

    When several large images are selected in the 'place' dialog box to place one after another, the first image often does not display the green guide arrows for matching existing object sizes. Subsequent images in that set do, but these often display the preview for the image just placed rather than the image currently loaded.

    Click "convert" to open this document..... doesn't do anything!!

    The error message then tells you "You are not currently signed in to the
    CC (which I already am). Please go to Help- > Sign In and enter your Adobe ID. Restart InDesign, then try opening the document again."

    Performing this action does nothing, the error never goes away, you just go in circles.

    It looks like InDesign is not recognizing that you are already signed in.
    Please try signing out from InDesign once. Quit and relaunch InDesign. Also you could try signing out from Creative Cloud App and sign back in to see if the issue goes away.

    Hi,

    bei mir gibt es immer eine Anzeigefehler. Trotz neuen Rechner und Neuinstallation tritt dies auf.
    Eine Hilfslinie oder Seite verschiebt sich zu Teilen um einen minimalen Absatz. So ist eine richtige Ausrichtung nicht möglich. Außerdem wird der Text oft verpixelt angezeigt.

18. color swatch

    1. Adobe Indesign 2022
    2. Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts>Panel Menus>Color: Add to Swatches>Assign a hotkey. Select a color and use the hotkey to assign a color in the InDesign document, and it will 100% of the time crash the program.
    3. Expected result is to have the selected color swatch created in your swatch library.
    4. InDesign will crash/close.

19. Share for review won't update link with Indesign version 17.0.1

    I've tried quitting, signing out of Adobe, restarting my computer, exporting PDFs and more and nothing seems to solve this issue. I only have been experiencing this consistently with the latest version. I'm on a Mac with Big Sur version 11.5.2 as well and it's not limited to one document, it happens for the majority of my documents.

20. links buttons causes crash

    Adobe InDesign 2022 ver 17.1
    Trying to fix a link but when I hit the links button, the whole program crashes. Sent a report every time.
    Have rebooted computer, restarted computer, uninstalled/reinstalled InDesign with no luck.
    It just shuts down and wants to send a report. I have tried to recover, not recover, and cancel. Still no resolution.
