  1. Font disappears when size of text is changed

    When working in a text box and changing the size of the font, the text disappears altogether. If I change the font to a different one, the text reappears, then change font back to the one I used originally and text disappears again. (For example: changed font from default myriad pro to Ultra--text still showing; changed font size--text disappears; change font to Roboto (or anything else)--text reappears.)
    No matter position of text box, size of box, size of font, changing to overprint view, nothing makes the text reappear except changing the font to something else. Font/text is also missing when…

  2. Every possible action on notes freeze or crash InDesign 2024

    I had this issue in a very simple one A4 page document that has a single text area filled with text and some not complicated header elements (including a placed image) in InDesign 2024 (v. 19.5) file.

    I created 4 notes with 1-2 words each.

    Anything I did with notes after that, the app freezes or crashes each time. Is that a known bug?

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already using it) as it is more robust.

    If you are still facing this issue even after updating it, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )

    Also, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign froze?
    • Video recording of the issue

  3. Hot Keying the Text Tool has been broken for 2020 versions

    The hot key for the Text tool is broken. I've tried the steps of resetting preferences the issue still persists - ever since the 2020 updates, hot keying to the text tool is broken. The tool is selected for a mini second before going back to the selection tool or other previous tool - there are plenty of mentions on this site with very little feedback on if the issue is going to be fixed - please give the community an update.

  4. InDesign Export PDF - Misisng font style (i.e., italic, bold, tiny text changed)

    Dear InDesign Folks,

    We've found some font style attribute changed in PDF file, another one issue is Ligature text missed out at PDF file.

    Application: InDesign CC 2015.0 Version 11.0.
    Windows: 7 & 10 Pro

    Steps & Process:
    1. We are generating 2 set of PDF with different Job-options.

    1. PAP Layer enabled PDF (i.e., particular layer enabled and creating the PDF, it's contains Images and Text like water mark).

    2. PRINT Layer disabled PDF (i.e., disabled the layer which we enabled in step 2).

    3. Using JavaScript generating 2 sets of PDF at a time.

    We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains fixes for some key issues. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • What were you doing when the issue was observed in InDesign?
    • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.

  8. Not all spaces are rendered correctly with World-Ready Composer

    The narrow no-break space (U+202F) is not rendered correctly when the World-Ready Composer is used: its width becomes equal to a normal space, instead of being thin.

    See attachment for illustration (the problem occurs regardless of the font used), reproduced with InDesign v16.4.

  9. copy

    Allow normal use of copy and paste with system-wide shortcuts from PDF comments. Most of the time I try to copy text from a PDF comment to paste into a document, the selection disappears and no "copy" option appears. I need to be able to copy and paste text from comments as easily as any other text. This issue is seen in 17.2.1 on an M1 iMac running Monterey 12.3.1.

  11. Japanese paragraph composer adds space after

    Issue: After changing paragraph composer to Japanese Paragraph Composer, text shows space after larger than setting. Space-after persists when set to 0 (zero).

  13. Error Code 6: Could not complete your request because of a database error. The file <filename> is damaged

    Working off remotely off a server (been doing it this way for years without issue). Today, I tried to open my InDesign file and it only partially loaded (with some linked images missing). Then I get the prompt "Could not complete your request because of a database error. The file "Ebook-3WaysToHoseYourAD-US-GM-32410.indd" is damaged (Error code:6).

    What can I do to restore my file?

  14. Alternate filling function of table rows doesn't work on styled cells

    Please see the attached video to fully understand what is the issue about: the alternate filling function doesn't work on previously styled cells.

    PS: Your server didn't allow me to upload the .indd file where the bug appeared and displayed the following error message: «Invalid file type: .indd files not allowed.» I can't believe my eyes. This is incredible! It's impossible to upload an .indd file on the bugs forum of InDesign! How ironic.

  15. InDesign newer than 20.3 and newer freezes on some documents from 19.X.X

    InDesign 20.3 and 20.3.1 hang and close with an error reporting dialog when opening some documents from InDesign 19.X.X. This issue does not occur in version 20.2.

    1. Open Activity Monitor: Go to Finder > Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor.
    2. Select the Process: Locate the frozen or lagging application and click on it.
    3. Generate the Report: Click the gear icon in the Activity Monitor window and choose Spindump
    4. Save the Report: Click "Save" to store the spindump file on your system.

  16. InDesign stops at "Fetching Service Registry" on launch every time — only resolves when disabling fonts

    Hello Adobe team,

    I have been using InDesign regularly, but for the past year, I have been encountering a very annoying and recurring issue.
    Every time I try to launch InDesign, it gets stuck on the screen saying "Fetching Service Registry" and never completes the startup process.

    After troubleshooting, I found out that temporarily disabling some OS fonts allows InDesign to launch properly.
    However, this is extremely inconvenient as I have to do this every single time before starting my work.

    This issue is highly reproducible and happens almost every launch.

  17. Adobe InDesign list panels unusable + Mouse click outside InDesign window not working.

    After I type any value by keyboard entering on a dialogue box (like font size, transparency, color tone, font spacing etc), all InDesign list panels become unusable: list elements (swatches, fonts etc) slip away from mouse selection like they were anchored to cursor.

  20. Images Blurry when PDFing from Book

    I'm working with catalog documents in an .indb file and when PDFing from the book, without any other files open, all of the images come out looking like they are unlinked.

    Images are all high resolution and linked in their individual files
    I am using press quality/X1A presets with no compression set
    Preflight shows no errors

    The only way to get clear images is to have every single INDD from the book open and THEN make the PDF, which, to me, defeats the purpose of the book functionality.
