Overhaul Bullets and Numbering and add features to make it useful.
Right now the bullets and numbering features are so limited and feel like an afterthought. Here is what I need in order of importance:
The ability to format bullets/numbers so they ignore extra line spaces.
The ability to align the bullets to the center. When one bullet's verbiage is longer than one line of text the bullet stays on the first line, what I need is for the bullet to be centered with all of the lines of text in that bullet, so if you had a bullet that was three lines long, the bullet would be centered to the…

Provide 'Indent to here' (~/^i) as a 'Text After' option in the Bullets and Numbering dialog
The ability to add 'Indent to here' as an option in 'Text After' bullets or numbering in the dialog box would be a time-saver so it's automatically inserted after them, rather than having to Grep it or do it to the necessary lines, individually.

Add "Same as Previous" in the "Bullets and Numbering > Mode" window.
In the "Bullets and Numbering > Mode" can we have "Same as Previous" added? I would be useful in our workflow. We have a workaround, but it's not 100% foolproof.

numbering and sections export without prefix
Very often I include several different documents in one Indesign file, and then export by sections. The downside is that exporting by section includes the prefix in the PDF page numbers, and I have to manually remove the prefix in acrobat. It would be awesome if that feature could be optiona, similar to how it's optional to "include the prefix when numbering pages" which prevents the text variables page numbers from including the preflix.

Please bring back Indesign CS6 feature of Footnote Leading to be at zero so that We can have inline footnotes.
Please bring back the Indesign CS6 feature of Footnote Leading can be made at zero so that We can have inline footnotes. (Multiple vertical footnotes can be made in the same line horizontally to save space). Please see the attached file as an example. Currently, all the CC Indesign versions by default put a space between footnotes vertically (Leading). No matter what it does not allow the multiple footnotes to be in the same line horizontally. That is like deleting a very useful feature and reducing the capabilities of Indesign for Publishing industry formatters like us.

Skip Page Numbers
Please create the option of deleting some pages from the numbering sequence. I use tabs in my documents and being able to skip them from the automatic numbering would save me so much time.

Allow the continuity of footnotes according to pages and not blocks OR chaining anchored text blocks ?!
I use anchored boxes which (unfortunately) contain notes.
The numbering of the notes resumes as if it were the start of another document, that is to say at 1.
I would like it to be possible for these note numbers to follow the previous ones and for the following ones to take them into account:
note 1 in the text – anchored box with note which should be 2 (and not 1) – note which should be 3 in the text (but which will be 2…). Aaaargh…
Perhaps a numbering option like in the paragraph styles/Bullets and numbering options where…1 vote -
Countdown page numbering
I needed to start a book with the highest number to the lower, but it's not possible to start a page from 200 until 1 instead of 1 to 200.
Could a nice function also for double language book with right reading languages and left reading languages.3 votes -
Numbering Pages
I wish you could make it easy to number pages - as easy as on Word. It is so complicated on InDesign and I have failed to make it work. As a result, I have had to publish books without numbered pages, and that is frustrating for all.

alignment and custom footnotes etc
I would like to see some more feature as described below, so this powerful too will be a step ahead for an Advance Page Layout tool. Here are some of them:
Some custom footnotes so can can add daggers and other symbols exactly like MSWord not the current features. This should be like first symbol, then 1, 2, 3 etc.
Customizing Text box sequence so it will be more intuitive for numbering figures. Think about I've add 100 of figures numbering text box using numbering features, then at editing page need to rearrange/adding/remove some figures, in this it won't…

Footnotes from all text frames and tables on every page
My booklets almost always have a complex layout with some (2-5) tables with visible or invisible borders and (2-5) text frames on one page.
I need there a consistent numbering of footnotes at the end of the page or spread from all tables and text frames on that page (separate for every page). I.e. real footnotes for the whole page not for a single text frame.A lot of people for sure have the same issue.
New endnotes feature in October 2017 update does not resolve the problem at all.
This input may be closely related to…

custom page numbering
When you want to number the pages differently than the standard correlative, for example with a date system, weekly, monthly... There is no automatic option for the pages to be numbered by day of the week. If in addition to the options 1, 2, 3... 01, 02, 03... a, b, c... i, ii, iii... you add a "custom" with a popup to a list of... for example 20 custom fields (for months, weeks, work groups, jobs...) would be perfect.

Customizing Numbering Style Format
Sometimes there is a need to use non-standard (for InDesign) formatting of lists (there is a need to use the alphabet of the Cyrillic alphabet or the Greek alphabet or something else). It would be nice to be able to do this.

Footnotes in Separate Detached Frame.
It is a very important feature to be able to customise the layout of footnotes with full control. Currently footnotes in InDesign are attached to the main text frame, & you have no control over it.
We suggest being able to have footnotes in a separate fully customisable text frame, while still being linked to the main frame!

Footnotes and problems
With footnotes all more or less normal, when they are applied in the simplest form. Problems begin when they need to be applied in a multi-column layout using "span all" headers. Footnotes begin to be ungrouped - before the headings, at the bottom of the pages, and the most incomprehensible - if the footnote is contained in the title, it will open not at the bottom of the page, but directly under the heading!
1 voteHi Viacheslav, this issue is now resolved with the latest version of InDesign. You may want to download InDesign CC 2017 or above. This issue should be resolved in it.
Please post here if it doesn’t work. Thanks

More options for formatting numbered lists
could we have two character styles applied to auto-numbering. One for the generated number and one for extra glyphs inserted in the "number" field in Bullets and Numbering. Or some other way to control the appearance/baseline shift etc. separate from the number itself.

An option to turn off auto-numbering of interactive buttons
An option to turn off the auto-numbering of interactive buttons when they are the same name.
We sometimes create multiple views of an interactive piece and for analytics need the buttons to have the same name. If there are a lot of buttons sometimes it can take quite a while to got through each button and remove the number added to each one.
