2. Add shortcut or button to bottom of links palette for Collapse Multiple Links...

   Please add a keyboard shortcut or a button to the bottom of the links panel for the panel option "Collapse Multiple Links to Same Source". I have to toggle this on and off often and would like an easier way to get to this option. Thank you.

3. Better workflow for designers and copy edits and document syncing

   Would love to be able to get editors to edit indesign files directly without uploading pdf. I spend so many hours making copy edits when I really want to focus on the design! I would love to be able to link an indesign file that anyone can open (without having an adobe account like pdf) but so our editors can edit these documents and I can hit a button in indesign to approve these comments without design being affected!

   Also a way to link two copies of indesign but be able to choose what you want to be linked and what you want to be deleted for when I am working on digital and print products at the same time.

4. Import XLSX spreadsheet to an InDesign table: the "-1" problem still

   When linking xlsx files to InDesign I receive a "-1" when the linked cell in Excel contains a formula that returns text from a cell in a different worksheet in the same workbook. InDesign ver 15.0.1 Win 10 workstation

6. Ability to set a layer to high res preview permanently

   It would be great to be able to set a layer to high res preview permanently. So that everytime you opened a document it remembered that Layer 2 for example needs to be high res preview.

   Reason for this: I work with a lot of dies in packaging, and when I link to them they always lose the high res view, but I need the high res view for the die so I can precisely design.

   Yes, I'm aware I can copy and paste the die from illustrator into InDesign, but when you are working with numerous files, it's best to link to one die so it can be changed across all files as needed.

8. add the ability to create multiple versions of the same document with minimal effort

   I create a newsletter, and along with it, an "accessible" version with minimal fonts and styles. Right now, I have to copy and paste each article into the accessible version, and manually apply each paragraph style in order to make things work out. There has GOT to be an easier way to make this happen!

   I tried the "paste and link" feature, which would at least save me the copying and pasting of each individual section, but the second one makes an edit and updates the link, all those accessible styles revert back to the original! At the very least, this feature needs an option to update text ONLY and not styles or formatting.

9. Make Edit Original available with Adobe Experience Manager

   Hello, we recently implemented Adobe Experience Manager as our DAM and since then we lost the EDIT ORIGINAL option for our links in InDesign which is a heavily used feature for us given that some of our designers are spending a lot more time having to open different tools to edit each link. Anyway we can get that back?

10. Paragraph Rules Improvements

    I would be great if the Paragraph Rules menu received a couple of improvements:

    1) Add a chain link for when you want both the Color and Gap Color to be the same. Likewise for the Tint and Gap Tint percentage.

    2) This one is a bit difficult to explain, but one of the biggest annoyances with using Paragraph Rules to apply a RULE ON to text is that the rule expands/contracts in an undesired way if you change the size of a text box or if you add/delete something from the text. What should happen is that the rule should stay put on the text you've highlighted.

    Right now there's an option to set a RULE to either the Text or Column. But there should be a 3rd option there called "Highlighted Text" so whatever Rule you apply, always stays put on the highlighted text.

    What I would like, for example, is to hightlight the word "John", apply a Rule to it, and have that rule stay put regardless of how I resize the text box.

11. Allow placement of AI files without PDF compatability.

    Currently, with a workflow that includes placing AI file into indesign, the AI files must be saved with PDF compatability turned on. This not only embeds all linked assets inside the AI file, but duplicates all the artwork as well making the file size of the saved AI file much much larger.

    This request is to allow INDD to place native AI files without an embedded PDF copy of all the artwork and without links embedded. If we could do this, we'd literally save half our storage space if not more due to all the duplication of links and artwork happening now.

12. Convert links to resolution

    Convert a copy of selected links to 300 dpi (or any chosen resolution).
    Including upscaling or downscaling.
    Alos available on packaging

    This would be helpful especially when supplied images are way too big, or some images are fine though a bit low res and need to be upscaled for print.

    My goal is to do all the layout and linking in indesign then do an export to a PDF with hyperlinks. The PDF and all the external linked files will then be distributed to other computers via USB-stick or CD.
    The links has to be relative for this to work and I would like to have that option in the hyperlinks pod/panel or when doing a PDF (or HTML export).
    I have been waiting 10 years for this feature - I cant understand why it has not been implemented searching the internet. it must be a clear usecase for indesign.

14. Edit linked spreadsheet table's cell range

    I have multiple documents that contain hundreds of tables linked to cell ranges on different spreadsheets.

    It would be really helpful to be able to edit the linked cell range of each table, instead of having to go through all the table linking steps each time I need to change the cell range.

15. Links Panel: Show Exact Matches only

    When re-linking files, add an option to show "Exact matches only". Adobe Premiere has this. So when you're looking for the file you're re-linking, all files are greyed out except for the one that matches your file name.

    Find the Premiere equivalent in German attached!

16. Tighter integration of TypeKit

    It seems silly that when you open an InDesign document and it uses TypeKit fonts that aren't available, there is no direct link to take you to the website and fix this.

    Firstly, it should just automatically activate the fonts if they're in TypeKit and you haven't already hit your limit.

    Secondly, if for some reason this behaviour is undesirable, you should be able to activate them from within InDesign. The process for new/occasional users is actually quite hard: a vague mention of the Creative Cloud app is all you get. Many users don't know what that is. Then you have to know to go to the "Assets" tab, then the "Fonts" tab, then press "Manage fonts", which takes you to a website, where most of the time I find you're not signed in, so you have to sign in, and THEN you're shown a list of the fonts you have synced... by now, assuming they have managed to wend their way through that, my users are saying "now what do I do?"

    How about in the "Find Fonts" dialog there is a button marked "TypeKit". In that it displays a list of all fonts available in TypeKit with a checkbox next to each. Sort of like the old ATM Deluxe or Suitcase.

18. Variable Spot Colors from Illustrator Definable in InDesign

    The ability to create a vector graphic in Illustrator, fill it with a variable spot color swatch (ie "Variable Color 1/2/3" etc.) and then when that spot color is imported into InDesign you can define it to match your project. Ideally on a per-instance basis, but even just editing the color globally from the swatches panel would be a big help. It would save hiving to make multiple versions of a graphic for each color you need - and that you may never need again.

    For now my workaround is to make a layered PDF from Illustrator with a layer for each color and then turn on/off the various layers in the links panel, but not quite as effective as a variable color and gets tricky when the layers get complex.

    Hello,
    Would it be possible to have the address locally in the "library" panel, as in the link panel? Indeed, CC libraries are handy, but 1 plugin in particular does not support them (EasyCatalog), and it is not practical to find local libraries when you have several of them.

20. Dynamic linking of icml and other files

    Can you improve the re-linking fetaure for InCopy. Currently if the icma is refreshed, the project re-links the entire project which can take considerable time for large projects even when only a small number of icml or other files have been updated. Surely the who re-linking mechanism can be improved to be more dynamic and automatically update itself while working on a live project.
