1. Dropbox missing links error

   If links are not available (because they are only online in the dropbox), please provide 1 error message. And not a window that must be clicked for each individual image.

   If you have to search older (archive) Indesign files (with hundreds of links), you will be endlessly bombarded with: "Error encountered while reading TIFF image. Image may be damaged or incompatible..."

2. Creative Cloud Documents - File Open facility needs vital features

   I think one of the most important facilities for making good use of Cloud Docs will be document management. I have been extremely frustrated by the total lack of such features in the recent Document Open interface, which just lists some very small number of recent docs, without any consideration of folders, projects, clients, or other important organizational features. The OS provides us with hierarchical folders that can do a fairly good job of organizing the dozens (sometimes hundreds) of files on a project or for a client, but without some facilities for that purpose, I can see the proliferation of dozens (hundreds?) of cloud docs, now encompassing multiple Adobe applications, turning into a nightmare of disorganization.

   The basis of any file management system has to be the provision and support of metadata. This probably will require sidecar files, or at least a central Adobe db of filenames and attributes. The simplest facility would be allowing users to create open-ended KEY WORDS for individual files, since that doesn't have to involve a hierarchical database. Files can be tagged by project, by in-house creator, by client contact name, by client company, or anything else that helps.

   Here's an example I deal with every day --

   For one client, I an designing a book interior: graphics, layout, typesetting, etc. Since it's a 500-page volume, I use separate InDesign files for each of its 55 chapters. After performing an operation on the "book" (metadata managed in InDesign), every chapter file is modified. So from then on, all I ever see in the Document Open interface is the last 30 chapter titles. This is absolutely useless! What I need to see is the files I'm working on for other clients, other projects for this client, the chapters I'm currently most concerned with, and so on.

   Please consider these issues as you develop further facilities in support of Adobe Cloud Documents.

3. Make Edit Original available with Adobe Experience Manager

   Hello, we recently implemented Adobe Experience Manager as our DAM and since then we lost the EDIT ORIGINAL option for our links in InDesign which is a heavily used feature for us given that some of our designers are spending a lot more time having to open different tools to edit each link. Anyway we can get that back?

4. When updating links (like from Illustrator) being able to select 'apply to all’

   When updating imported files we get a warning that e.g. the layers are altered. In the concerning warning boxes (extra if multiple pages are involved) it would be very handy to have a checkbox to ‘apply to this or to all'.

5. Update links with custom settings

   When opening a document and InDesign asks if links should be updated, there should be a choice for linked files only. When using alternate layouts, e.g. with an A4 and a Letter instance, the line breaks will be manually adjusted. So when the file is opened and all links are updated (because maybe images and charts used in both formats were updated), the manual changes in the linked texts of the alternate format are gone.

   Self explanatory - The ability to flick between pages on imported Indesign files without having to go to relink then navigate to the file, then to the page you want. A simple forward/back page button next to the link would speed up my workflow immensely.

7. Import XLSX spreadsheet to an InDesign table: the "-1" problem still

   When linking xlsx files to InDesign I receive a "-1" when the linked cell in Excel contains a formula that returns text from a cell in a different worksheet in the same workbook. InDesign ver 15.0.1 Win 10 workstation

8. Automatic page addition or subtraction when links are updated

   Dear Team,

   My organization uses InDesign to compile our tender documents which vary from about 200 pages to 3000 pages in pdf format. These documents tend to change in terms of the number of pages with each tender. It would save a lot of time if InDesign would check for the new page numbers and add or remove the pages accordingly when updating links. Currently if I update my pdf file to have a few more pages, InDesign does not recognize the extra pages and therefore excludes them all together. I have to manually add the pages which is time consuming and prone to errors. I feel this is a solution that will open up InDesign more to the tendering practice. Thanks

9. Incorporate Illustrator vector files into Indesign

   I understand that Indesign was born as a layout software where inside it will be connected PSD and AI external source files and the modification should be done in the dedicated software.

   Evaluate, in simple cases, the practicality of changes in Indesign.
   I'll explain.

   It would be good to be able to modify simple carriers such as brands and logos or small icons directly inside IDs. Example ... Layout of catalogs of a company with logo A.
   This Logo if paginated on a white background could go in the full color version ... If the logo goes on a dark background I could use the same brand in White. Now what if I have a link to the AI ​​file, I have to open the file in AI, modify it and reconnect it ... Or have many Ai files different for how many variables of the mark I could have ...
   Give us the possibility 'in addition to the connection of vector files, including the incorporation with the possibility of modification within Indesign itself. 10. Relative paths to external files

    My goal is to do all the layout and linking in indesign then do an export to a PDF with hyperlinks. The PDF and all the external linked files will then be distributed to other computers via USB-stick or CD.
    The links has to be relative for this to work and I would like to have that option in the hyperlinks pod/panel or when doing a PDF (or HTML export).
    I have been waiting 10 years for this feature - I cant understand why it has not been implemented searching the internet. it must be a clear usecase for indesign.

11. Better workflow for designers and copy edits and document syncing

    Would love to be able to get editors to edit indesign files directly without uploading pdf. I spend so many hours making copy edits when I really want to focus on the design! I would love to be able to link an indesign file that anyone can open (without having an adobe account like pdf) but so our editors can edit these documents and I can hit a button in indesign to approve these comments without design being affected!

    Also a way to link two copies of indesign but be able to choose what you want to be linked and what you want to be deleted for when I am working on digital and print products at the same time.

13. Add shortcut or button to bottom of links palette for Collapse Multiple Links...

    Please add a keyboard shortcut or a button to the bottom of the links panel for the panel option "Collapse Multiple Links to Same Source". I have to toggle this on and off often and would like an easier way to get to this option. Thank you.

14. add the ability to create multiple versions of the same document with minimal effort

    I create a newsletter, and along with it, an "accessible" version with minimal fonts and styles. Right now, I have to copy and paste each article into the accessible version, and manually apply each paragraph style in order to make things work out. There has GOT to be an easier way to make this happen!

    I tried the "paste and link" feature, which would at least save me the copying and pasting of each individual section, but the second one makes an edit and updates the link, all those accessible styles revert back to the original! At the very least, this feature needs an option to update text ONLY and not styles or formatting.

15. Create linked text boxes and assign different colors for text in each text box.

    Hello,
    I would like to be able to create linked text boxes and assign different colors for text in each text box. The linked text boxes can have different background colors. You can create it manually by selecting text and changing its color, but what if an editor removes or adds a paragraph? If in box A background was white and text was black, and in box B background was black and text white, then if a paragraph in box A was removed, text from box B (white) will move to box A and will become invisible in box A with white background.

17. Edit linked spreadsheet table's cell range

    I have multiple documents that contain hundreds of tables linked to cell ranges on different spreadsheets.

    It would be really helpful to be able to edit the linked cell range of each table, instead of having to go through all the table linking steps each time I need to change the cell range.

19. Paragraph Rules Improvements

    I would be great if the Paragraph Rules menu received a couple of improvements:

    1) Add a chain link for when you want both the Color and Gap Color to be the same. Likewise for the Tint and Gap Tint percentage.

    2) This one is a bit difficult to explain, but one of the biggest annoyances with using Paragraph Rules to apply a RULE ON to text is that the rule expands/contracts in an undesired way if you change the size of a text box or if you add/delete something from the text. What should happen is that the rule should stay put on the text you've highlighted.

    Right now there's an option to set a RULE to either the Text or Column. But there should be a 3rd option there called "Highlighted Text" so whatever Rule you apply, always stays put on the highlighted text.

    What I would like, for example, is to hightlight the word "John", apply a Rule to it, and have that rule stay put regardless of how I resize the text box.

20. Ability to set a layer to high res preview permanently

    It would be great to be able to set a layer to high res preview permanently. So that everytime you opened a document it remembered that Layer 2 for example needs to be high res preview.

    Reason for this: I work with a lot of dies in packaging, and when I link to them they always lose the high res view, but I need the high res view for the die so I can precisely design.

    Yes, I'm aware I can copy and paste the die from illustrator into InDesign, but when you are working with numerous files, it's best to link to one die so it can be changed across all files as needed.
