1. Large Black Cursor only while working in inDesign?

   The cursor is still not my default cursor, it is large and black and very annoying. I was wondering if anyone from Adobe has addressed this issue. I have looked at previous post and have not noticed anything that would change the cursor but only change the scaling of the entire program.

2. InDesign 2018 13.1 crashing when saving back to Studio Server

   We've just updated our studio with new macs, running High Sierra Version 10.13.4 and the most recent InDesign Version 13.1.

   When we open a .indb document and edit one of the individual .indd files within it and attempt to save back to our Studio NAS drive/Server on our ethernet network the program crashes, corrupts the entire file and makes no effort to restore the file.

   We are also running our old Macs, on Yosemite 10.10.5 with Indesign 2017 and have not experienced this issue at all for the 7 years we have used these machines.

   We’ve looked on various forums but Adobe and Apple seem to be pointing the finger at each other for a solution!

   Any ideas?

3. Application Frame Sticks to One External Monitor and Fails to Move Between Monitors (Windows 11)

   I am experiencing an issue with a user where the application frame is stuck on a specific external monitor. When I attempt to drag the window to another external monitor, it automatically reverts to its original position on the main monitor. I can minimize and drag the corners to adjust size of window but cannot move it over to other monitors. This behavior occurs across multiple workstations, and I have already attempted the following troubleshooting steps:

   Ensured that all software is fully updated.
   Restarted the device multiple times.
   Adjusted the resolution settings and reinstalled display drivers.
   Removed and reconnected external monitors.
   Resetting preferences
   Checking required system requirements

   Despite these efforts, the issue persists.

   I would appreciate any further assistance or insight into resolving this problem.

4. Print files do not get overwritten.

   Whether i'm trying to overwrite a print file created with PDF or .vps using ID 2022 (17.4.1) through the XMPie plugin compatible for this version, it will not overwrite a previous PDF or .vps. This is a very frustrating issue since I've had to update to 2022. the only way around this is to delete the old PDF or .vps prior to running the new /updated print file, which is time consuming step. I constantly have to check time stamps to be certain that the files I send to our presses is the most current files needed, especially if a quick fix needs to be done while a job is on press.

5. Anchored Textframes with Auto adjusting height within a Textfreame

   1. CC 2018 – 13.1 (Can't update to CC 2019 right now because of Plugins)
   3. Create a big "master" Text frame
   4. Create 2 more text frames that auto adjust in height and fill them with lorem ipsum or any text.
   5. Paste those two text frames into the first created "master" Text frame
   6. Change the Text in the first Text frame (Add some empty lines or remove text) and see InDesign fail to update.
   7. Expected result: Should be pretty obvious... InDesign should not fail to update the current view.
   8. Actual Result: All Textframes are misaligned because InDesign does not update correctly – If you dare to move the "master" text frame now it gets even stranger. - The only way to update it to the correct look is to force InDesign to update the text frame by changing something like space after in the "master" text frame. 6. InDesign 16.0.1 can't recover file from crash

   Running InDesign 16.0.1 on Catalina. Mac workstation connected SMB to Windows server.

   InDesign crashes shortly after working in a different program and returning to InDesign. Report the crash then try to reopen InDesign from doc icon (or CC). It crashes again. Report, reopen from doc icon (or CC, or in applications folder). Get error message that InDesign crashed trying to load the recovery file, can't locate the recovery file. In order to open InDesign I must click "no" to not try to recover the file.

   I have reset preferences, created a new workspace (instead of using previous version's saved workspace), uninstalled and reinstalled several times.

   Mostly returning to InDesign from Chrome – Version 87.0.4280.88 (Official Build) (x86_64). Or from Photoshop 22.1.

   The recovery folder has 70 files from Oct.-Dec. 2020.

   Attached are screenshots of the crash reports and the error message from InDesign. There was only one doc open and it was saved with a filename, there was no "untitled" file open.

7. Images or graphics disappear (Mac M1; Sonoma 14.5) (ID V19.4)

   I'm unable to copy images or certain objects.

8. Quranic annotation signs not working in Indesign

   Hi. Standard Pakistani Quranic text is not rendered properly in Indesign because it is unable to handle a Unicode block correctly (see attachments)

9. Cannot add CC Library P/C styles to documents more than one at a time

   New problem: suddenly I can't add paragraph/character styles from CC Libraries to documents unless I choose them one-by-one.
   (I'm trying to overwrite a previous version of the same styles, which to date I have done without issue nearly every day for months.)
   I have made no changes to my system (InDesign2018 Version 13.1 on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.4).

   Description of behavior:

   1. Select list of Character (or Paragraph) styles and right-click to use option to add to the current document. "Add" option NOT available.

   2. Select single Character (or Paragraph) style and right click to use option to add to the current document. "Add" option is available.

10. missing text and images

    I have a multiple facing page doc that is missing text boxes and images. seems like a rendering issue but I cant fix the bug. any ideas? things I have tried are: preference reset, exporting the doc as an IDML file, moving pages to a new doc. nothing is fixing the bug.

    I am currently using Zoho's virtual space.

12. Publish Online roll over bug

    I'm using InDesign 2021 version 16.0.

    I seem to be running into an issue with the roll over effect in Publish Online. The issue seems sporadic, but once the bug happens, it doesn't fix itself.

    I've setup a timeline so that when you roll over the date, info will be visible. This works initially, but then when I try to go back to some dates that I've previously rolled over, the info does not show up. Expected result is to have the info shown when you roll over the date. Actual result shows that the button to trigger the roll over changes to it's roll over state but the info is not visible.

    See attached PNGs. Note that the date is supposed to be blue when mouse hovers over.

    I'm using InDesign 2021 version 16.0.

14. Share for Review / Hyperlinks not working

    Hyperlinks are not working on Share for review, using image, text or even buttons. They work fine if you export the document as Interactive PDF. Already tried to delete the review and upload a new version, but nothing seems to work.

    Does anyone else have this issue?

    Fonts get activated, then again so that theindesign/incopy document refreshes and detects the fonts but unfortunately this could result in significantly longer loading times for large files and other unexpected performance issues.
    The fonts are active for the whole system (reg query "hklm\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\fonts)
    and app., Bloc Notes for example.

    Hi Filippo,

    As we currently see it, this is an InDesign issue as our plugin has already activated the requested fonts prior to the document opening fully as indicated by the fonts being present in the Local System registry and being available within other applications like Notepad.

    This issue has happened before in previous versions of other Adobe applications and we previously implemented a workaround whereby the documents were opened twice, once in the background so the fonts get activated, then again so that the document refreshes and detects the fonts but unfortunately this could result in significantly longer loading times for large files and other unexpected performance issues.

    Ultimately, Adobe needs to address this issue as it should be checking the system registry and updating it's font menu accordingly.

16. Blank EPUB Interactivity Panel in InDesign 16.3.2 on MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) running OS 10.15.7 Catalina.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign. I've installed it again deleting all old prefs. I've restarted reinstalled software and dumped prefs on start up holding down Shift/Ctrl/ALT/Cmd keys, and 'Yes' clicked when asked if I want to delete preferences file. I am at my wits end with this issue.

18. Scrollbar is hidden upon defocusing the InDesign window

    Upon defocusing the InDesing window, the scrollbar disappears.

    This issue is creating usability problems - working on 2 monitors, clicking on the other monitor to grab some image or text, then trying to return to InDesign by clicking the scrollbar to scroll to the desired position does not work. Instead, randomly clicking the empty scrollbar randomly scrolls to the left or to the right.
    Whoever had the idea to hide the scrollbars had a very bad decision. None of known apps are hiding the scrollbar upon defocus, also, hiding the scrollbar has absolutely no benefits, just drawbacks.
    Please stop hiding the scrollbars when defocusing the main window. Lots of users actually want to return to an app by immediately dragging the scrollbar.

    Whoever had the idea to hide the scrollbars had a very bad decision. None of known apps are hiding the scrollbar upon defocus, also, hiding the scrollbar has absolutely no benefits, just drawbacks.

19. Line Jumps by Half its Stroke Weight in InDesign CC (Version 18.3)

    In InDesign CC (Version 18.3), there is a persistent bug where a line jumps unexpectedly by half its stroke weight when attempting to change its length. This issue has been present for some time and occurs consistently. Enabling or disabling the scaling options in the settings does not have any effect on this behavior.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Open InDesign CC (Version 18.3) on the affected system.
    2. Create a new document page or open an existing document.
    3. Draw a line with any length and stroke weight.
    4. Select the line to edit it.
    5. Try to change the length of the line by dragging one of its ends or adjusting the properties in the control panel.
    6. Observe how the line unexpectedly jumps by half its stroke weight.

20. Numeric pad Key "3" not working when specific char style is present

    I have the same issue with Num pad Key "3" and I have narrowed it down to one specific character style. When this style is present in a document, then Num pad 3 is not working. I have an indesign file with nothing else inside other than this character style but it is not accepted for upload.
