package folder name
INDD 15.1, Mac OS 10.15.5
With the 15.1 update, when packaging a file, the folder name is no longer highlighted. I, like most people, delete the word "Folder" that INDD adds to the packaged folder name. In previous versions, the folder name was highlighted in the package window so that hitting the right arrow would move the cursor to the end allowing one to delete "Folder." Now one has to click into the name field to change it. This release has added an extra step. Please revert to how it used to work. Or better yet, stop adding "Folder" to…3 votes -
Control panels can't be scaled
A couple of days ago I switched from InDesign CS 6 to InDesign CC 2019. I wanted to arrange my working area in the way I had before, but couldn't because the control panels could not be scaled as narrow as before. Because of this I can't fit all needed control panels on my second monitor.
I have contacted support but they could not offer any solution to my problem.

Issue Not Resolved: Cannot Implement and/or Copy Any Review Comments
This was previously mentioned with multiple votes and then marked as resolved by admin. However, multiple comments show that this bug is CRITICAL and NOT FIXED with the latest update.
Share for Review is essentially useless at the moment since there's no way to either A) download the PDF with edits, B) implement a change from the comment, or C) copy and paste the comment from the review panel.
Please fix, these features all work when sharing an exported PDF for review and then importing comments. Absolutely zero excuse that this expensive of a software cannot solve this and…

Source Sans issue
Source Sans or INDD has changed from version 17.3 to 17.4. All of the type gets baseline shifted down when you create a new file or if you open up an existing INDD file with Source Sans. It all pushes down inside the text window.
Either an INDD problem or Source Sans coding has changed. Please resolve--its our house typeface.

Ligatures cause ADA compliance issues! Let's have a preference option to turn them all off, globally.
Please, please add a global Preference in the Advanced Type window to TURN OFF ALL LIGATURES. These are problematic to ADA requirements. This would be just an additional global preference that we could set when we have no InDesign documents open, so that any new documents (after we turn off the ligatures in the preference area) would not have ligatures.

Source Serif Pro font baseline not consistent
I'm using Indesign 15.0 on MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) running Mojave version 10.14.6
I'm experiencing a bug with the Source Serif Pro font , which I use extensively in a particular project.
I open an existing document, and the text in Source Serif Pro looks as you'd expect it to. When I start to edit the text however, it all jumps down as if the baseline settings of the text frame has been changed (although checking in the settings confirms they haven't been).
Copying and pasting the frame, or the text into a new frame, doesn't help.
It only…

Share for Review does not update
Share for Review creates a link but does not update content.
Reproducing:
- File created in InDesign 2024, Share for Review link created. Updating the content often showed a red "There was an error updating the artifact" error but would still update content in the link
- File opened in InDesign 2025, where it was converted to a 2025 file. Comments from previous version carried over in "Review" panel
- Clicking "Update Content" in Share for Review causes long loading icon. Once completed, it showed no red error, but the link did not update content. Upon third or fourth try,…2 votes -
Crash when changing bullet character options
Just updated to the newest InDesign version (as of 28.03.2020).
Whenever changing the character style on a bullet list, in my case trying to change the character color of the bullet/numbering character (1., 2., 3. ...) , either via paragraph style -> bullet options or directl via character style window, InDesign crashes. The application does not crash when I choose the "Overprint Fill" option.2 votesTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

Not able to set default font when it comes from Adobe Fonts library
Purista font family is installed but when I try tu pick it from menu as default font (in type panel or top app menu) it is visible in brackets with name changed - as a missing font.
When I create a document it is still missing (screenshot _31). Then I have to reactivate adobe fonts by turning off Adobe fonts for a while (screen _32) and after it it works like it should (screen _33).

Problem copying font from Acrobat Pro DC PDF (to Word and Indesign)
[Adobe Indesign 2021 - 16.3 / Suitcase Fusion 21.3.0]
Since the last update, I am unable to copy/paste from a PDF in Acrobat the accented characters of the French dictionary (ô, é, è, ç, à) to Word or Indesign, whatever the font is (Adobe font or personal font).
The glyph disappear when pasted.
The glyphs exists in the dictionary when looking at the panel in Indesign.

Pages/spread overlapping after changing page size
InDesign 2018 CC 13.0.1
Pages and spreads are doing weird things when I resize my document. It creates some odd margin after resize of pages. I start out with 2 pages, document shuffling allowed, facing pages turned off.
Pagespread01112617 - shows the page spread I was working with; each page is 10”x12.25”.
Pagespread02112617 - after I changed the size to 10.68”x11.239” for another ad spread, a weird margin showed up. The content boxes show how there is an odd overlap; each box is 10.68" wide.
Pagespread03_112617 - If I move page 2…2 votesHi,

Color Profile Warnings when copying Objects and Text within the same Document
Mismatching color profile warnings are very helpful when copying objects between documents with different profiles, which is why this is an always-on option for me.
However, for some time now, such warnings seem to pop up randomly when I copy text between documents with the same profile settings, and sometimes even when copying text from one text box to another within the same document.
My understanding is that this is a bug, as live text in an INDD cannot have different profiles. Is there a way to avoid these warnings and still get them when they are necessary (copying between…

Unable to apply multiple character styles after last update
I used to be able to select a piece of text, then open the Character Styles panel and select multiple character styles using the control key. I can successfully click. However, the styles selected are not retained. Only the first style I had selected is still applied. This is a huge bug affecting my impending book publishing.
I even cross confirmed it with two simple character styles - one [embolden] and one [italica] (aka bold and italic) expecting to be able to select both.
This DID work around October 2017 - we just did not notice that it had stopped…

Type functions do not work on Text frames in CC2019
In all previous versions, it was possible to select a TEXT FRAME (one or more) and apply any text formatting to the text in it.
This has been removed in CC2019. With a text frame selected, the text functions in the control panel and in text related palettes -- Character, Paragraph -- are disabled. The functions in the Character and Paragraph Styles panels are NOT disabled but they don't "work".
Expected result: how it worked in the 13 versions that preceded this one.

Jumping to wrong tabs
Hi, when I try to click on the File menu, it keeps jumping to Window instead. That goes for any menu item I try to open. I'm using the 2018 version of InDesign on Windows.
Thanks

pages shuffle
Indesign 16.2.1
When trying to move spreads around in the pages panel when small thumbnails are used and "allow document pages to shuffle" turned on, I'm unable to move them in between spreads because there's not enough room for the cursor – I'm only able to attach them to either side of an existing spread.
Turning the thumbnails to medium or larger alleviates this problem.
