1. Punctuation at the end of Hebrew text is broken if there is a SHIFT+ENTER in the middle

   Punctuation character at the end of Hebrew text is "shift" to the right if a SHIFT+ENTER (line break within the same paragraph) was typed somewhere in the paragraph.

   A simple example is shown in the attached image.

   Also, in the attached Image I am using the "Adobe Hebrew" font with "Hebrew" set as Language (as can be seen in the attached images).

2. Select multiple cells in a table that are not next to each other.

   Good morning,

   When we creating a table in Indesign, it is impossible to select several cells at the same time, if they are not side by side.
   There is no shortcut yet that allows you to do this.
   This would save a lot of time, being able to change the background color, or font, of several selected cells.
   For the moment, we have to take the cells one by one, one by one, one by one, one by one... Not really fast...!

   Il n'existe pas encore de raccourci qui permet de le faire.
   Cela ferait gagner beaucoup de temps, afin de pouvoir changer la couleur de fond, ou la police d'écriture, de plusieurs cellules sélectionnées.

3. Add attributes of currently selected text or object to the "Find/Replace" dialog

   Here's an idea. It would be cool if the attributes of whatever you currently have selected, be it text or an object, could be quickly added to the Find/Replace dialog as your "search" terms. That way you don't have to go through and find all the attributes you want to search for, you could just select something that already has those attributes applied and then search. For instance, if you selected text that was bold italic, red, and 12 pt of a certain font and paragraph style, then those attributes could be loaded in the search box instead of having to input each of those to find all text that has those same attributes.

4. Fonts not copying when packaging a file

   I've been having issues ever since the update of InDesign 16.4. The issues have been fonts copying over when packaging a file. It's on all computers MacBook (personal) and two iMacs (work). Projects have been different but have same issue. So far I've only gone the manual route to retrieve the fonts but main problem is still ongoing. The fonts aren't from type kit or have certain permission restraints. These are purely installed fonts that I've had zero issues in the past been using them for the past 2yrs and ever since the update they no longer copy over. So I'm not too certain as to why I keep having the packaging error of copying the fonts.

5. Rulers exceeding text boundaries, only paragraph shading or offsets seem to be able to limit them

   As a rule, rulers should not go beyond the text boundary, and they should adapt to the text boundary (if font size have been changed, or if other changes have been made that affect the layout).

   But the green arrows show that in some cases the boundary is correct.

   It shouldn't be necessary to add both offsets and paragraph shading to get the rulers right.

   The paragraph shading trick is not a real solution, that I guess is just overlapping the rulers but it does not trim them.

6. tracking

   Having lots of issues since the latest update (17.2) with the character box.

   When I highlight my text it won't allow me to click the dropdown to change the font or the tracking.

   If I click on the 'tracking' field, I can type the number in manually but I can't see it. I also cannot click the up and down buttons to change it that way.

8. Inconsistent names of spaces in Czech UI

   There is a mess in the names of spaces in Czech UI. The names of spaces are not consistent:

   Em Space = "Em mezera" or "Dlouhá mezera"
   En Space = "En mezera" or "Krátká mezera"
   Nonbreaking Space = "Pevná mezera" or "Nedělitelná mezera"

   Depending on the situation, the user sees either one or the other name for an identical space.

   I suggest to:
   1. Use "En mezera" and "Em mezera" only. It is not the traditional Czech name, it is an Anglicism, but quite widespread and understandable
   2. Use "Čtverčíková mezera" and "Půlčtverčíková mezera", the traditional typographic terms, nevertheless some may find it obsolete

   Terms "Dlouhá mezera" and "Krátká mezera" are confusing. It means "Long space" and "Short space". But how long? What does short means? It indicates that it is shorter than the default space, but it is actually wider. Both terms were never used in Czech language. Professionals use "Čtverčíková mezera", young people use "Em mezera". No one would ever use "Dlouhá mezera".

   As for the nonbreaking spaces, correct options for "Nonbreaking space" and "Nonbreaking space (fixed width)" are:

   Nedělitená mezera
   Nedělitená mezera (pevná šířka)
   or
   Nezlomitelná mezera
   Pevná mezera
   or
   Nedělitená mezera
   Pevná mezera

   Explanation:

   "Nedělitelná mezera" or "Nezlomitelná mezera" is the correct term for Nonbreaking space of variable width

   "Pevná mezera" is the correct name for Nonbreaking space of fixed width

   "Nedělitelná mezera (fixed with)" is a weird neologism. It is something like "Horse (with stripes)" instead of "Zebra".

9. Multi-Lingual Data Handling

   This is a suggestion for a new feature for people using InDesign for multilingual purposes.

   In India, we may need to use 3 languages ​​at the same time, for example, in addition to English, we may need to use the national language Hindi and the regional language Malayalam, Tamil or some other language. In other countries, sometimes even more.

12. Fonts menu selection doesn't work well (it skips some fonts randomly)

    On a 2011 27" iMac 3,1 Ghz with SSD drive, with the last High Sierra and InDesign CC 2019 (14.0.2) versions, the fonts selection menu doesn't work well. Please see attached video. This is really annoying because it seems to happen randomly. Thanks for your help. Regards.

    When pasting a group of layers from one document to another it would be great of InDesign would honor the sort order when the layers land in the receiving document. Also if the layer colors can stay the same.

    I often paste between documents and it is not fun having the manual sort the layers. How about a sort selected layer by "X' as an option. Typically I number these direct mail layers in numerical order.

    This is very important with direct mail clients with variable data. The printers prefer all versions for the different branch offices in a 2-page front and back INDD file for both digital and traditional printing as well.

14. Missing fonts, spell checking not working with InDesign 2020 build 15.0.2

    There are two bugs with InDesign 2020, build 15.0.2, which make it unusable for me. I have reverted to build 15.0, and the two bugs are not in that build.

    Bug 1 is that often when I export pages as a pdf, or I package the document, the fonts I am using in the document become missing afterward. I need to quit InDesign in order to have InDesign find those fonts again.

    Bug 2 is that spell checking no longer works. The spell checking window comes up, but it never catches any misspellings.

    Reverting InDesign to build 15.0 takes care of those bugs. I'm not sure what the problem is with build 12.0.2, but it is unusable.

    I am running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.3 on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) with 16 GB of ram.

15. Indesign 2020 intolerable lag of up to 10 seconds when switching from selection to text tools

    Since the latest update, InDesign has extensive trouble switching from selection to text tools. This appears to be exacerbated by having more than one layout file open. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, i9 system with 64GB of ram. I've reinstalled, deleted preferences, reduced fonts installed, deactivated preflight, deactivated opentext options bug on boxes. The problem is very repeatable and proving a major work disruption.

18. fonts appearing as distressed almost

    Some fonts appear as distressed. Almost like there's a pattern overlay on them. It changes as you move the text box around on the screen. Doesn't export into pdf like this, only in active document (see blue text, I've included what appears in indesign and how it looks normally)

20. Capitalisation of letters b and i triggering the command prompt to bold and italicise copy

    Issue being experienced on Adobe InDesign 2023 version 17.4 (and previous version), using MacOS Monterey v12.6.

    When using shift + b or shift + i commands in indesign to create capital B or capital I, the command is instead acting as I would expect if I were to key in CMD + B or CMD + I in Microsoft or code - it is changing the font to 'Semibold' (shift + B) and 'Book italic' (shift + I) and not capitalising the letter.

    The issue can be replicated reliably across all fonts loaded.

    Please can this be investigated?
