PDF preset: color output settings aren't being applied V21.0.2
My company has been using the same PDF preset for a couple of years now. Since updating to V21.0.2, the color output settings specified in the preset are not being applied. I tried creating a new preset and the color output settings are still the default, instead of the very specific color settings I need applied for the print vendor we send files to.
Hi Todd,
Could you share more details about the PDF Preset? What were the Color Output settings that are no longer getting applied in 21.0.2, can you show us some screengrabs?
If possible, share the .joboptions file.

This is a critical error. My CC'25 versions are not having this issue. My CC'26 versions of Photoshop and Illustrator are not having this issue.
We have a color managed Enterprise deployment. We are synchronizing the Color Settings via Bridge. The application is reverting the default color settings, even though the Color Settings says they're set correctly. (In our case reverting to North American General Purpose; sRGB and US Web Coated SWOP v2.)
It does display the custom settings upon first opening them, as they were set and synchronized with Bridge.
All new documents are created with the (incorrect) Adobe defaults.
*Changing the Settings preset to any other preset and then back to the custom settings preset appears to make the settings stick.* However I cannot rely on our user base manually making this change to correct this issue. (Which is why we push out these settings.)
Deleting the Color Settings file from the User Preferences folder then relaunching repeats this error. Setting the color settings by picking a preset from Bridge, and verifying the profile within InDesign, still defaults to the incorrect profiles.

I can replicate and this is a major issue for users working in managed working environments. I have InDesign CC2025 (v20.2) and CC2026 (v21.0) installed on the same MacBook Pro M4 (Sonoma). I have my color environment synchronized in both versions.
In CC2025: My synchronized color environment is consistent across Color Settings, Assign Profiles, and Convert to Profile. This is correct.
In CC2026: My synchronized color environment is not consistent. Adobe defaults are displayed for Assigned Profiles and Convert to Profile.

Indeed there seems to be something wrong.
My CMS settings define "PSO Coated v3".
A new document is set to "Coated FOGRA39".
That should not be FOGRA39, it should tolerate my CMS setting and set PSO Coated V3 as the profile.
If i change the profile, InDesign tells me, that FOGRA39 is my working color space – which is not true.During the export, the correct colour profile is used.
Test with a german InDesign 2026.0.2 on a german macOS 15.7.2.

This problem recurs with every major InDesign update. I have reported on this here several times in recent years. I have Fogra 39 profile for cmyk in Color settings. But when create new document, not fogra is used, but US web coated.... Hmm, so i manually set fogra 39 for my new document. But still, on export, US web coated is used as destination profile.
