  1. When attempting to 'crop' the INDD window size from bottom rt-corner, the the document's image

    When attempting to taper the (Mac) INDD window's size from bottom rt-corner, the document layout ALWAYS "runs away" from the user (to the upper left direction)… making it impossible to get the doc's layout centred within the window, first time. This is UNLIKE any other Mac application… and is a source of constant frustration!

  2. Shift + Tab / Ctrl + Shift + Tab doesn't work properly with reordered Windows

    Shift + Tab usually switches to the next open window/project. with Ctrl is switches to previous window.
    That works so far.

    It doesn't work anymore though, as soon as you rearrange the order of the windows.

    Say you have project A, Project B, Project C open, but you move the window from Project C between A and B

    so now its: A, C, B

    if I now want to switch from C to B I would click Shift + Tab. But instead to the obvious next Tab "project B" it switches STILL to A.

    So Indesign constantly…

  3. panels keep moving

    The tool panels keep changing position, flying out or closing in a seemingly random manner. Certainly their movement is counter productive to any given use.

    I've just updated to ID 2019 and my panel positions are all lost. This is after several month of wrestling with the demented behaviour Adobe has given them.

    In the 'old' days, one set up the panels how preferred and pretty much left them alone.

    Could Adobe please return to this functional panel behaviour and stop them flying out, moving about, or getting lost on each update?

  4. [ID-4246352]NIKKUD (accents/diacritics) selection has become invisible

    InDesign version: v20 (both Mac & PC)

    Hebrew letters can use NIKKUD - vocalization diacritical marks (function like Vowels) under/above the letter.

    • In previous versions (-2023) it was possible to select only the NIKKUD (attached image) of the letter. (in order to specify the position of the NIKKUD using the Diacritic Positioning panel or to change color, etc.)
    • In the current version (2024-2025) the selection is on the entire letter, and there is no visual indication whether the letter or the NIKKUD is selected (attached image).

  5. Acrolinx panel too narrow and can't be resized

    Since I upgraded to InDesign 17, the Acrolinx sidebar is displayed at half the width it is supposed to be and can not be resized (see screenshot). It is completely useless this way.
    With InDesign 16, everything is fine.
    Running Windows 10 Enterprise. DELL notebook, DELL P2419H second monitor. All display settings on "recommended". Screenshot is from the notebook's internal monitor.

  6. Export and Package dialog window not working when menu items are colored

    Export and Package dialog window not working when menu items are colored.
    If you customize the Export or Package menu item by making it a color under Edit-> Menus... , the dialogs that open contain drop-down menus that are not editable. You can't pick the PDF preset or the format for the packaged document. This can be replicated across different MacOS operation systems and hardware configurations. If you remove the color from the menu items the functionality returns.

  7. File Information won't close

    When I open the File Information window to edit the metadata of a file, I can't close the window because the OK and close buttons are off the bottom of the screen.

    When I try to resize the window, it will return to the size it is. In order to close it I have to restart InDesign!

    Please sort this!

  8. indesign CC 2020 15.1.1 not recognizing font

    document will work fine, then randomly a window will pop up saying that it is missing a font that I have been working with. Restarting Indesign usually works for a brief amount of time

  9. AppleScript Finder communication

    InDesign version 16.3.2 with OSX 10.14.6 or later

    Indesign script‘s with calls to the Finder or other Apple apps work running from Apple’s Script Editor, but break when running from InDesign’s Scripts panel. Get an Not Authorized to Send Apple Events to Finder error.

    This breaks when running from the Scripts panel, but worked with InDesign 2020:

    tell application id "com.adobe.InDesign"
    tell application "Finder"
    activate
    display dialog "Hello"
    end tell
    end tell

    Calls to other Adobe apps are ok, so this still works from the panel:

    tell application id "com.adobe.InDesign"

  11. [ID-4219714]CEPHtmlEngine maxes out CPU to 100%

    macOS Catalina 10.15.5. and InDesign. 15.1.1.

    Massive problem with CEPHtmlEngine Helper. After a while, my MacBook Pro fan is running high and in the activity window, CEPHtmlEngine Helper is running between 90 and 100%. It is no fun to work with a system that runs crazy.
    Why? Solution needed.

  12. Turning on [Remove Blank Lines For Empty Fields] in Data Merge causes anomalies in the preview display

    InDesign 2022 v17.3

    Procedure
    1. Download and extract DataMerge-sample.zip.
    2. Open DataMerge-sample-Id2022.indd in InDesign v17.3.
    3. Make sure Remove Blank Lines For Empty Fields in the Content Placement Options in Data Merge panel is ON.
    4. Click Preview at the bottom of the Data Merge panel, or choose Preview from the Data Merge panel menu.
    5. Click on the navigation buttons in the preview to cycle through the data in the record.

    Expected Results
    Only the content changes. Each line retains its formatting.

    Actual Results
    If the content changes, the formatting of some lines will also change.

  13. Can't acess to color_window

    After updating to the latest version of InDesign (20.3.1) I cannot access the color window. Neither in the swatches nor in the sidebar as you can see in the side window.

  14. Can't delete InDesign color swatch

    Documents inherit a swatch from a picked-up file and the swatch can not be deleted.

    1) This problem has existed for us since at least InDesign CS4 and persists through the current CC 2018 build (13.1).

    2) In the attached file, "Select All Unused" in the Swatches panel. There is no content at all in the file. All objects have been deleted, as have all text and object styles. Try to delete the unused process color swatch, "C=80 M=76 Y=70 K=73."

    3) We expect the unused swatch to be deleted.

    4) Trash can icon in Swatches panel is grayed…

    Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, go to Creative Cloud desktop application, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right corner and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

  15. Workspace panels not reappearing when exiting and reentering application

    I've noticed lately that my workspace panels are sporadically disappearing when I have a document open and I click out of the document on macOS Mojave and reenter the document shortly after. If I click 'tab', the workspace doesn't reappear. The only way to make it come back is to go to Window/Workspace/Reset [Name for workspace]. Application frame is disabled.

    Currently on macOS 10.14.6
    InDesign CC 2019 14.0.2

  16. "Shin Dot" and "sin Dot" does not work

    On Mac, InDesign version 15.1.1 - typing the Unicode character "Shin Dot" and "sin Dot" does not work with the keyboard, only with the glyphs panel

  17. InDesign palettes/panels do not expand or open when Application frame is Off

    These small panels that you can attach to the large panels would not expand now after the update to 13.0.1
    I had problems with it already 2 updates back.

    Thank you for your support. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
    Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.

  19. Relinking / opening new documents window broken

    When I try to relink or open a new document (anything that involves locating a file from my MAC) I can no longer select shortcuts from my sidebar. The folder icons are placeholder documents rather than folder icons. Clicking on them has no effect.

  20. Hyperlink panel "go to destination" not linking to html with # to a specific id="anchor-1"

    ID version 17.0

    Hyperlink is to a url containing a # to anchor-1 in an html document. (Fig. 1)

    When clicking the go to destination it should open to that particular id location in the html.

    In the browser the # becomes %23 and the html document does not open, in fact it opens a pdf with a similar url. (Fig. 3)

    Fortunately when creating a pdf the link does work correctly in the browser.

    In v 14.0.1 it would open to the correct place in the html.
