Did you turn off any filter? I had problems because I wanted to use an acitvated font, but I coudn't click on it in the tab "look for more fonts" (don't know how it is called in the English version). When I turned off all filters I could find the font in the normal tab "fonts" and could click on it.

My particular version of this issue (comment from October 19, 2018) seems to have been resolved since posting. For me, it was the selecting from the font menu and hitting Return that did not work, but I tested it this morning and it seems to work — currently on macOS Mojave with the 14.0.2 Indesign release.

I have the same problem. I ever worked so well, i just inserted a few letters of the font i want and then just hit enter to chose it.
Now idk why when i hit enter to select the font iit just stays as it is
Please solve it, it's annoying!

Same here, but even worse!
I've been changing font this way (typing name and accepting by hitting Enter) for ages. Now can't do it neither when there is only one suggestion nor when there are many. It impacts my workflow so hard I had to go back to CC 2018.
Bug was posted in October, any chance it will be fixed soon?

This is also happening to me. Yesterday my InDesign (CC 2019) crashed two times (I was placing images into a page and it shutted down) and when I restarted it, there were fonts missing. I reinstalled the fonts and I even reinstalled Indesign, but nothing worked. I even turned off "Activate Adobe Fonts" button on the Creative Cloud, but nothing. Now I cannot use the font anymore on any document on InDesign CC 2019 (on Photoshop and Illustrator works fine). The font that's missing is Campton Black Italic (otf). I asked my colleagues to see if the same was happening to them, but it's working fine on their computer.
So, now I'm back to Indesign CC 2018 and it's working fine.

Please help with this issue. I am trying to edit an InDesign file designed by someone else so I can create a new version for this year. I am replacing the missing fonts and had replaced most of them in "Find Fonts" but that stopped working for certain fonts. Then I tried to select text manually and change the font using the Character Palette, which worked fine, until it didn't. Now I cannot change the missing fonts and they are still missing! I am using CC 2019.
Could Adobe Fonts be interfering?

In previous versions of InDesign, I could select text, click into the Character Panel, and begin typing the font name. Eventually, after I had typed in enough of the font name, I could hit "Return" and it would choose the top suggestion and change the text accordingly (without using my mouse to select the font name).
However, if there is only one font left as the suggested font option, this does not work in the latest version of InDesign. (So, rather than hitting "Return", I have to go back to my mouse and click on the font name.)
It does seem to work if there are multiple suggestion options.

It should also be noted that I am using High Sierra. Others on the team are still on El Capitan, and they are not experiencing this issue.
