US English dictionary no longer picking up UK English words as misspellings
I'm running 16.1. My colleagues are running 16. In neither version does the US English dictionary mark 'maneouvre', 'modelling', 'utilise' and 'organise' as misspellings even though they most certainly are.

Bug: Mac AppleScript change text returns replacement except last character
Search ("find what") and replace ("change to") does not return the expected results when replacing text. It truncates the replacement by one character.
Steps to reproduce

2. Create a text box
3. Add text in the text box including the word "test"
4. Run the following script (see attached) test.scpt
5. Expected the return results to be "foo" but it returns "fo"tell application "Adobe InDesign CC 2019"

Important message about pasting text with endnotes appears at wrong time
Pasting text with endnote(s) does not show a message. You instead get that message the NEXT time you paste an object, even if that object is not a text box containing endnote(s).
There is also a grammar error in the message, where the word "and" should be ", which" — and there is no period at the end of the sentence.
This has been in many versions of InDesign. I am using 17.1 now.
Reproduce:
- Copy text with endnote(s) to the clipboard
- Paste text into a new thread
- Text pastes properly; a new page is added for…1 vote -

Macos Big sur 11.1: when using voice dictation in combination with Indesign, in a new simple document, nothing else open in ID: when starting voice dictation , text cursor blinking and already inputting text, after a few words ID crashes. Tried it 3 times, ID crashes each time.

Converting all URLs to links is converting anything with dot between two words
When trying to convert all URLs to links, it seems that the regex used also targets things like V.ii and converts that into a link. Shouldn't it be looking for anything with http or www?

No Font Spacing Between Words in InDesign 2019 14.0.x-2 on Mojave 10.14.x-4, Works fine in InDesign 2014 (v10.0.70) on Yosemite (10.10.5)
Posted it here too: https://forums.adobe.com/message/11049072#11049072
So, we've had this issue on our new MacBook Pro running macOS Mojave v10.14.4 ever since last year in August when we were on High Sierra (what came with the Mac).
Basically, InDesign is unusable with Gujarati Sangam MN on the 2019 version but on 2014 (v10.0.0.70) version on my old Mac (OS X Yosemite, v10.10.5) it works fine.
What's causing this issue?
We've tried the following:
Contacted Adobe & Apple support: Apple said to contact Adobe, Adobe was unhelpful, they suggested we look up if the font was installed it it is on the…

Ellipses not found by Find/Replace
Version of Adobe InDesign
14.0.2 x64Steps to reproduce the issues
1. Placed a Word document. Reformatted etc - lots of work done.
2. Tried to Find/Replace all ellipses to ensure they have a Thin Space before and after. InDesign Find/Replace finds no ellipses (but I am looking at them, having already replaced three periods with ellipses throughout the document).
3. Tested in a new document - problem does not occur there. But it does if I paste the text from the previous document in.
4. Tried exporting to IDML and re-opening to remove any corruption. This made no difference.…1 vote -
Info Panel - Stroke and Fill info drawn in wrong place - covers up PPI/words info
Windows 10 - ID 17.1
Info Panel - Stroke and Fill info drawn in wrong place - covers up PPI info and also garbles coords when text selected.
Not dissimilar to this issue from 2019.

Issues with MacOS custom keyboards and InDesign
The users have InDesign V16.1 installed on macOS Big Sur (11.4).
They use custom software keyboards (created with Ukelele) to type Native American language characters (Salish via IPA). They use custom fonts that have the required glyphs for the language. OpenType marks are used for composing characters. The fonts are both Unicode and OpenType compliant. Frequently a properly composed character will consist of a primary glyph (such as "K") followed by a combining glottal and a wsuperior. If each key of the custom software keyboard has only a single unicode code point assigned, everything works fine. However, if the custom…1 vote -

Spell check is changing from English to Catalan on a particular page of my document every time I check it. I have tried changing it back and will select English and then it will still say Catalan and try to change all of my words to Spanish.

InDesign 16 has a mistake in Swiss German orthography: words containing "ss" are marked wrong, asking for german "ß".

Dictionary Hyphenation in Uppercase ignored (German)
Custom hyphenation settings are ignored for uppercase words in user dictionary (at least in german).
Example:
dictionary entry: "kro~~~nach" (select field "case-sensitive" not set)
Expected behaviour:
Lorem ipsum Kro-
nach dolor sit amet kro-
nach
Actual behaviour:
Lorem ipsum Kron-
ach dolor sit amet kro-
nach
Workaround:
Enabling "Case-sensitive" and adding lowercase and uppercase version leads to correct hyphenation.

appliedLanguage property of text-related objects returns language from application, not document
When I do configuration for a language in a document, such as setting doubleQuotes, this language can be found in the document object's list of languages and has a different id than the language with the same name in the application object's list.
But when I access text inside the document – regardless what I inspect, paragraph, words, character, textStyleRange – I expect to get the language properties as set in the document, but instead I get those as set in the app.
I believe this to be a software bug.
More information as well as a workaround can…

Style names truncated unnecessarily
The UI for the styles palette truncates the names of the styles to an unusable length if a keyboard shortcut is assigned (even when no truncating is needed).
In the attached image, we see that there's a lot of space to the right.
The keyboard shortcuts could also be shortened using the relevant symbols instead of words. eg
"⌥⇧⊞1"
instead of
"Opt+Shift+Num 1"

Incorrect diacritic position for some letters when using bullets
When using the latest version of Noto Sans Arabic (2.012), if bullets/numbering is enabled in InDesign for a line containing a word with a medial position jeem ج, the dot of the jeem gets out of place. If bullets/numbering are not used, then all is well. I submitted this as a bug on GitHub for the Noto Sans team, but they say it is an issue with InDesign and the layout engine. You can also see other issues on the GitHub issue at https://github.com/notofonts/arabic/issues/232.
To reproduce:
Create a text frame using the "ME Type Tool" in InDesign (for a…

Bugs with Whitespaces in Justification’s Composer when work with Thai language and other issues
As my report on bug with text wrapping in 2020 version (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/38998636-bug-with-world-ready-composer-when-use-space-like). Many of issues were fixed, but some still remain.
.
Before going to the issue in the title of the post, I want to specify some issue that doesn’t fix form my last report. If you see on the attachment img 02, you will see the issue about text encoding (it just only my suspicion) that happen when you just copy and paste text (specifically in Thai) form 2020 version to 2019 or to another text editor. After I had pasted text into TextEdit (you can…2 votes
