Thanks for reporting the issue. As confirmed from you all, the crash issue is not happening with latest InDesign build. The only remaining issue is that of Grep not working when a period is followed by an endnote marker
We will look into the issue shortly.

Aman, the issue is that in a story you can’t search for anything before the endnote marker, not just a dot.

The issue is still there for in 2020 (15.1.1.103). You can’t select anything followed by endnotes .~U
The crashs with (?<=\h)~U is fixed.

Finding anything BEFORE the ~U will fail.
Also if you want to make InDesign CC2018 & 2019 Crash... try to find a space in a Positive LookBehind before the ~U
Like so: (?<=\h)~U
