  1. Preview bug, always scrambled

    Preview is always messed up. Images attached, text is often spliced like this until I zoom in and out. Sometimes overprint preview helps but it's happening frequently and I can't see what my work looks like...

  2. Missing strikethrough, replace text, and highlight options on share for review web link

    We're using the public (with password) share for review option for our annual report because we didn't want one-time reviewers to have to make an account.

    I thought that's why I was only seeing the draw and thumbtack options on the online review. But after updating InDesign the options appeared today. And then they disappeared again and I can't get them to come back.

    I hope this feature can be fixed. It was so much easier to make the updates from the comments then emailed edits and scans of people markups that they PDF'd.

  3. When changing (only) the color in the character style the text is changing from place

    When changing (only) the color in the character style the text is changing from place. Indesign version 16.4.2, MacOs Mojave 10.14.6
    When I do this by hand there is no problem. For me this is a huge problem because it is the link color in my whole document.
    I am a user of Indesign from the beginning (1.0). I looked and tryed many things and it was never a problem. Hope you can help!

  4. Font lost when pasting text to ID 2018 from updated Excel for Mac 2016

    InDesign CC 2018
    Mac OS High Sierra and Mac OS El Capitan
    Excel Mac 2016 updated

    Font family used in inDesign document is not found after pasting table text from Excel file (a process that has been used successfully for some years) . First happened in High Sierra, and thinking it was the OS update that caused it, I reinstalled El Capitan. Tested the copy/paste using a newly installed version of Office without updating it, and had no problem. Updated Excel and the problem returned.

  5. Selecting all and then deselecting some text in one go

    I have been using InDesign since forever. Since the very first versions. But something has changed in the update to version 15.0.3.

    When I select text, I often want to select an entire paragraph, except for the hidden character "paragraph return". I do that by holding Shift+Command+Arrow Down. That selects the entire paragraph including the hidden character. Then I would normally just let go of the command button and still hold Shift and then push the Arrow left button. That way I had selected the entire paragraph without the hidden character.

  6. adjustLayout Doesn't work when used in an Extendscript

    In InDesign 2014 I used Document.layoutAdjustmentPreferences.enableLayoutAdjustment to make text boxes and images adjust to new measurements of a page and it worked pretty well.

    In InDesign 2019 I understand it has been replaced with Document.adjustLayoutPreferences.enableAdjustLayout and I can trigger it with my script but it doesn't work as before - text boxes and images remains on the original place.

    If I use the function manually, without scripting, it works fine, text and images adjusts to the new measurements.

  7. Indesign - Texts keep disappearing with any edits. Have to scroll away and back to see new text

    Macbook Pro 13 M1 2020 - Brand new set up last week
    Indesign Subscription V 16.2.1

    Happening all the time - work taking forever.
    Please advise, this problem is driving me up the wall, any help appreciated

  8. Font issue inDesign 2023

    I'm getting a font issue when I use 2023. If I go back to 2022 the issues disappears. The font is loading fine in both versions. Any idea why this is happening?

  9. When I share to review, weird things happen

    I have InDesign 15.1.1 and I've been using the new Share to Review feature often. I've noticed that my text and tables would completely disappear on random pages and the Table of Contents became messed up as well. To make the text reappear, I had to adjust the size of the frame by a pixel or two then it would return. It didn't matter if I made the frame bigger or smaller.

  10. V 20.0 Bugs

    Text box content disappearing. Only will reappear after box is moved or typed in. Some content may appear and some will not be visible until box is moved again. This happens often when typing or deleting text.
    Also, now I only have 2 undos. History only shows two items.
    Just updated to 20.0 and these issues occurred right after. Please fix!

    We will need more info on this, is this happening with all documents or with some specfic documents.

    Does this happen after creating or opening documents or both?

    What are the steps you have performed which are not there in History?

  11. Punctuation at the end of Hebrew text is broken if there is a SHIFT+ENTER in the middle

    Punctuation character at the end of Hebrew text is "shift" to the right if a SHIFT+ENTER (line break within the same paragraph) was typed somewhere in the paragraph.

    A simple example is shown in the attached image.

    Also, in the attached Image I am using the "Adobe Hebrew" font with "Hebrew" set as Language (as can be seen in the attached images).

  12. InDesign 14.0.3 document Missing/Invisible text and photos

    I am using Indesign v. 14.0.3 on a mac with High Sierra 10.13.6.

    I save my projects regularly the whole time I'm working, so it's not a saving issue. Everything was there when I saved and closed the project before this.

    I've been working on a project layout for over two weeks now. Last night I was putting the final version together when it started slowing down, taking a long time to move an item, etc. I saved my project and closed Indesign. I reopened after a while hoping the glitch had time to resolve itself.

  13. Hi, I am using indesign CC 2018. When formatting text as a numbered list, the number is not displayed until I start typing.

    When I hit enter on the numbered text box, I want to see the number I'm about to start entering information for. If I don't see the number, my brain can't move forward onto the next idea.

  14. text variable "Year>Modification Date" prematurely outputting "2020" (in 2019)

    I just updated to InDesign 2020 on 12-27-2019 and today (12-30-19) was updating some ID documents that have a text variable in the master pages (defined as Year > Modification Date), which suddenly (a few days premature!) is now showing up as 2020, even though we're still in 2019! I thought that changing it to Year > Output Date (which changes the field to show the correct 2019) was a temporary solution, but then my new PDFs output with the date field changed to 2020!     I'm working with linked endnotes in InDesign 2018 (version 13.1), but my file originated in InDesign 2015 (I skipped 2017). I have already saved the document as an InDesign 2018 file but seem to be having problems importing a document with linked endnotes.

  17. problem with optical margin alignment and world-ready paragraph composer

    1. This happens in multiple versions of InDesign. I've reproduced it in ID CS 6 (8.1.0.420), ID CC 2019 (14.0.3.433), ID 2021 (16.4.0.55), and ID 2022 (17.0.0.68).

    2. Steps to reproduce:
      (1) Open InDesign
      (2) Create a new empty document
      (3) Create a text frame that is 100 mm by 100 mm
      (4) Place Text4.txt
      (5) Go Type > Story > check Optical Margin Alignment

    3. Expected result:

  18. Bugs with Whitespaces in Justification’s Composer when work with Thai language and other issues

  19. Incorrect kerning on justified text

    InDesign v. 12.2.0.56

    I'm working in a book file, and this problem seems to occur at random. The kerning in the first word of a line of justified type is incorrect visually, but when you check it with the cursor, it is the correct number. If you change it, it jumps and appears to be correct again, visually, but if you save, close, and reopen the file, it is incorrect again.

    It is problematic because when a PDF is exported, the incorrect kerning is what gets exported.

  20. paragraph shading where inline table is used

    Indesign all versions:

    I often use pararaph shading to give my text some extra attention. I may also have tables in this text, that require the same shading. But unfortunately, that's not possible with inline tables. When I instead use inline graphics, the shading works as expected.

    Seems like a bug to me!
