Edit with other - doesn't see Photoshop as an application
I use the Indesign feature on the links menu to Edit With, either using the default application or another. We just updated to the latest CC (ps, il, in) and the other application isn't the same. For any jpg or pdf, it shows Photoshop or illustrator or Acrobat as available to open the image selected. However, if I select an ai. file, it shows Illustrator as the default, and Preview as another option - no Photoshop. InDesign crashes while Editing Cross-Reference
- InDesign 13.1
- Select text, got to Type > Hyperlinks & Cross-References > Insert Cross-Reference
- Should be able to open/edit Cross-References
- Entire program freezes and has to be force quit.
4 votesAs per the customer, the issue was specific to a corrupt element. Deleting or modifying the corrupt element resolved the issue.

Crash ID2018 with a right click
InDesign 2018 (latest update) on macOS Sierra (latest update) crashes when right-clicking a text box with Apple Magic Mouse. Text box could be empty or full, same result. Help please!

Move Page bug, can't select Start or End
When attempting to move a page to either Start or End of document, I select those options, but it continually reverts back to Before or After page. InDesignCC.

Color and Swatch in control panel extends pass screen edge
- Indesign CC V13.1 on Windows 8.1 Pro
2.When selecting the fill or stroke for a shape in the control panel at the top, the pop out panel with swatches extends beyond screen edge
- I expect the entire pop out panel to show with the swatches displayed

Images with same name confusion
We've had a couple of instances in the past month with InDesign documents linking to different images that happen to have the same name and are in 2 different file locations. It seems that in some instances, InDesign will take it upon itself to relink the wrong images even though those images haven't been touched (either on the file system or in the InDesign file). adobe stock pricing
When licensing an Adobe Stock library image from within Indesign I am charged $9.99 but if I but the image on the adobestock.com site it is $2.99. This is recent and is highly annoying.

placed indesign shows all layers in file
It will show all the layers in the placed InDesign file despite the fact on import the option to use document layers visibility is selected. You have to manually select which layers you want visible on import.

Thank you for your support all this while. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.
Let us know if the issue is resolved for you in InDesign 14.0.

InDesign performance issue: Slow on documents present on server
it's not an idea, but a problem. Indesign creates problems on the network and is very slow with server documents, as never before. The media told me to work locally, but I ask Adobe to solve the problem. Windows 10 64 bit - Intel processor 32 GB of ram.

The pdf file I export is not the same with the file I saw in my screen. The preview when I working in indesign is wrong. So when I put my cursor in a line to make a corrections this correction is done about 3 or 4 lines below my selection.

Forced line breaks within text variables introduces an unavoidable letter space
When a forced line break is inserted within text that is used for a variable, a random, unavoidable letter space is introduced into the variable text.
There are obvious workarounds, but a solution to this would be really convenient.

type shifting
Type in indesign 13.1 constantly shifting - it as though there is a text wrap that causes it to "bump down" a space. There is no rhyme or reason to it - it is happening every time I pace a text box. SOMETIMES zooming out will fix it, but is is a real drag to not have WYSIWYG. Annoying

Adobe Indesign Ruler - Corrupt Display.
When opening a document and mousing thru the document the display of the ruler starts to add "marks" in the measurements.
We have been able to reproduce this in versions 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
We have gone and used the rename "enUS" method and it only works temporarily.
The issue is sporadic and can happen on new documents or old.
Also sporadic through out the versions as well - same document can happen on one version and not another version.

Auto-Fit tick box does not work and has no effect when placing images into a Frame or Rectangle
I am using InDesign CC 2018 V13.1. In previous versions the Auto-Fit tick box worked just fine. With CC 2018 it does not. When placing an image into a Frame or Rectangle, ticking the Auto-Fit tick box has no effect. The image is placed into the box at full size. I then have to resize the image manually or using the Fit Content To frame button. I teach InDesign at Cambridge University and this missing feature is confusing for beginners. Please let me now how to rectify this issue.

Recent Files thumbails don't match corresponding documents
When choosing an ID document to open from the "recent files" screen, the wrong file opens; i.e., the document that opens does not match the document that I clicked on. Or, sometimes I get an error claiming that the document cannot be found, but the file is indeed right where I left it. This does not happen every time...sometimes the right document does open from the recent files screen, but not usually. This has only been happening to me only for the past week or two. index alphabetizing with multiple words
When there an index entry has more than one word, the space between the words is improperly accounted for resulting in misalphabetized entries. See screenshots.
