1. Adobe Fonts don´t load

2. Moving pages cause the shift of the pages moved

   Is a big problem: when moving pages from different Documents with the same options, master pages and Layouts the pages moved are shifted (to the left or to the right).
   I've made an Example in the attached Files.
   1.png shows the way I move the last two pages of the document to the other document (identical copy of the same file).
   2.png shows the pages moved in the second document (they should be the same but the imported ones are shifted by a few millimeters).
   For documents where you have to import hundreds of pages it is very frustrating to have to manually rearrange them all.

   Is a big problem: when moving pages from different Documents with the same options, master pages and Layouts the pages moved are shifted (to the left or to the right).

3. Data Merge function "Honor existing frame fitting option" is not working on master pages

   Steps to reproduce the issues

   Open the file > 01ExposeTEMPXMLStart.indd
   Generate a merged document by clicking the button
   Choose "Honor existing frame fitting" in Content Placement Options
   Click [OK]
   Jump to page 1 in the merged document
   The pictures are placed without honoring the existing frame fitting options from the object style
   This only happens with frames that are placed on a master page. The same frame on a document page works fine

   Expected result
   Data Merge should honor the new feature "Honor existing frame fitting options" on master pages al well

   Actual result
   The existing frame fitting options even by object style applied is ignored

   Workaround
   If a object style is already applied you can remove the local override by pressing the "delete local override" button

4. Outline color of tables changed

   When I open a file which has been created in InDesign 2019 (by another person) with my version 15.0.1, some outline colors of the tables are displayed incorrectly. (not all of them) In my case they should all be 60% black, but some of them are 100% black now.

5. Data Merge function "Remove Blank Lines for Empty Fields" deletes the wrong paragraph

   Activate "Show Style override" in the paragraph panel
   Jump to page 2
   On the left side (Merged Document, Blank line intact) you can see the 2 markers followed by a paragraph symbol
   On the right side (Merged Document, Blank line removed) you can see that the 2 markers with paragraph symbol moved 1 line up behind the 7 and the other paragraph symbol is deleted
   Everything is o.k. because the paragraph style (07padresse) of the line "Mobile" and the deleted "Blank line" are the same
   Jump to page 3
   On the left side you can see the 2 markers followed by a paragraph symbol
   On the right side (Merged Document, Blank line removed) you can see that the 2 markers with paragraph symbol moved 1 line up and the other paragraph symbol (blue highlighted on the left side) is deleted BUT this time the paragraph style of these 2 paragraph are NOT the same! The result is a bigger gap between the two sentence "Frau Marie…" and Tel: 012…" on the right then it should be as you can see on the left

   Expected result
   The Blank line (2 markers and paragraph symbol) should be deleted/removed

   Actual result
   Instead of the Blank line (2 markers and paragraph symbol) the paragraph symbol before that (blue highlighted on the left side) is removed AND the remaining paragraph also picks up the paragraph style from the "Blank line" (if there were text in my example you could see that as well)

   Workaround
   You can generate a merged document with Blank lines and delete/remove them with Find/Change
   Find > (markers) + paragraph symbol = <FEFF><FEFF>^p
   Change > to nothing
   This way everything stays intact!

7. Printing error with Acrobat

   I get the following error message when I try to print InDesign documents to Acrobat.

8. inDesign 2020 removed the zoom view box from the top menu bar

   This user is much unhappy that inDesign 2020 no longer provides the zoom view box that appeared in the top menu bar, directly to the right of the help tab. That was a fast, easy way to change the view size of the file in the screen.

   I was told by Adobe that this feature was dropped because the screen size view could be achieved by other existing features. Sure... now one must pull down a tab, then go to another command and activate a feature like zoom in and zoom out. And that only shifts the view in or out by one factor, whereas the zoom view box at the top menu bar would let you instantly jump the view in our out by 3 or 4 "sizes."Count me as a most unhappy user who will stay with inDesign 2109.

   By the way... inDesign 2020's menu bar is now empty to the right of "help." So what was gained taking this highly useful feature away? And why not give users the option to have that zoom view menu feature in one of the pre-sets like "Essentials Classics"? I will grumble once more about my unhappiness at the loss of this important feature and the hubris of Adobe engineers to drop such a valuable element of this software.

   The change was made to reduce the UI clutter for the user and it was moved to the bottom left of the screen in the Status bar where other controls like page navigation, preflight profiles, etc. are available.

   To continue using this feature, we can suggest a simple workaround which takes less than a minute to accomplish – just open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, choose Views, Navigation from the Product Area drop-down, select the ‘Access zoom percentage box’ from the list of commands and assign a shortcut – example, Ctrl-Alt-5. You can customize the keyboard shortcuts as you like and save a new Keyboard Shortcut Set.

9. Proportion lock is ignored when scaling.

   I've placed a bitmap on my page. When scaling it with the scaling tool and the proportion lock engaged, proportions aren't maintained.

   Scaling with the Scale Tool scales the objects without taking into consideration the Constraint Lock icon, it works independently of the state of this icon. Only when you use the W & H fields, the Constraint icon is used.
   So, it is not a bug. You can also see this work similarly in Adobe Illustrator too.

10. Bounding box is always on the outside of the stroke

    Ever since I updated to the latest InDesign (InDesign 15.0.1), the bounding box is always on the outside of the stroke so instead of objects snapping to the box they are snapping to the outside of the stroke.

    In InDesign, the bounding box has always been on the outside of the stroke. It has not been changed at all. In which version of InDesign were you seeing this behaving differently than the current version?

12. Can't change bounding box size when stroke is applied

    InDesign 15.0.1

    When I create a rectangle with fancy corners, when I change the stroke to the outside it won't let me adjust the size of the box. If I grab the side and drag it to where I want it snaps into place smaller. If I go up to the tool bar at the top & try to change it that way regardless of whether I try to change it bigger or smaller it just makes it smaller & it doesn't just go 1px at a time it changes 6px+ & if I try to just do vertical it will change both.

13. 12/05/19 Updates in Indesign

    Update on 12/05/19 caused stability issues in Indesign. Since this update, my indesign has been crashing, unresponsive, and about as bad as AI. This program is my workhorse and I need it to function. Documents take about 5-10 minutes to open, even longer to save, and scrolling in multi-page documents is tough because it lags so hard.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

14. InDesign 15.0.1 create new guides stops working and all guides disappear

    Mac 10.13.6, InDesign 15.0.1. Repeatable bug. Not related to having any browsers open.

    Create new document, can drag guides to page and see them OK. Paste elements on to page, still OK to create guides Adjust margins and columns, still OK.

    THEN, adjust Document Setup (for me, adding bleed) and all guides disappear. You can drag a guide from rulers and it looks like it is there, but when you click elsewhere on the screen then that guide disappears.

    Please get this sorted. I am sorry to say that this version of InDesign appears to be the buggiest version in quite a while.

15. triple click paragraph takes next paragraph style instead of selected

    Triple click paragraph and paste new text takes paragraph style from next paragraph instead of the selected paragraph meaning you have to manually select the paragraph if you have a header or different paragraph style immediately after the text you wish to replace.

16. swatches

    When trying to change color values on a existing color in the swatches options panel the number and text apear all scrambled. If I change any value of the color and it save InDesign collapse every time.

    Two issues:
    • text scrambled
    • app closes when changing color values

17. zooming at high percents very slow and beach ball

    Hello,
    when I’m zooming in Indesign like in an Poster or Flyer with some images and some other objects at 2400 % Indesign get very slow and when I move an object, the beach ball comes up.
    At 3200% and 4000% its not possible to move any objects without struggling with the beach ball.

    I’m using an 2017 MacBook Pro
    Indesign CC 2020

18. Master page shadow/effects cause white knockouts when published online

    When using the Publish Online feature, effects applied to elements on a master page is causing white knockouts in the online viewer. Further testing showed that having type behind the master page effects appears to make the knockout go away.

19. InDesign hyperlink testing swamps my website and triggers my site's denial-of-service-attack banning on my IP

    InDesign does checking of hyperlinks to see if they are valid and indicates the result in the hyperlinks list with a green dot (good) or a red dot (bad).

    The problem is my document has 500+ hyperlinks to my website and when Adobe tests these hyperlinks (when I open up the hyperlinks list dialog), it swamps my website with hundreds of hyperlink hits all at once and triggers the denial-of-service-attack IP banning code on my website.

    The end result is any time I'm editing hyperlinks in my Adobe InDesign document, I get banned from my website! When I check the server logs, it shows the source being an Adobe app at my IP -- which is InDesign of course.

    You need to add an option in the InDesign settings to throttle hyperlink testing by adding a delay between each link test ping. Default it to zero but let the user set a value in milliseconds to delay each test ping. Adding 1000 milliseconds would make each test ping get fired at one second intervals, for instance. Allow a max of 360,000 milliseconds, which is 6 minutes delay between pings.

    Your programmers need to keep in mind not everyone has a half-dozen hyperlinks in their documents. Get them to think through what happens in hyperlink testing if the document has 1000 hyperlinks in it, all deep links to pages on a single website -- and they will realize what a monster they've created by not allowing a user-specified per link test delay value.

20. InDesign hyperlink %0D bug

    When I cut and paste URLs from a text document into the hyperlink dialog box, I can accidentally get a carriage return included. InDesign "includes" the carriage return in the one-line dialog box field but gives no indication that it's there.

    Once I export the InDesign document to a PDF and then click on the link in the PDF, the link shows with a %0D at the end and it fails with a 404 not found.

    This is extremely annoying because InDesign gives no indication that the carriage return is there with its one-line link dialog box field.

    What should happen is InDesign should truncate control characters at the end of a URL. It should also truncate spaces at the end of a URL because we've seen %20 show up occasionally as well and that also can't easily be seen and causes the URL to fail. Have your programmers truncate any character at the end of a URL that is ASCII 20 or less and you will be golden!
