   Running Indesign CC2019 14.0.1 on a MACBOOK PRO running Mojave - currently having a number of unexpected outcomes - spacebar unable to use to navigate page - SHIFT unable to proportion constrain and ALT unable to drag copy items.

2. PDF Comments not hiding

   PDF Comment import does not hide comments on the layout after the Hide Comments on Layout button is pressed.

   The following is the process I followed:
   - Displayed the PDF Comments pane in InDesign.
   - Imported comments from PDF's.
   - Selected the Hide Comments on Layout Button in the PDF Comments pane.
   * Comments are hidden from view.
   - Leave the InDesign window
   - Return to InDesign, and some of the comment boxes are shown, some are not shown, and some are partially shown (the box is cut in half).
   - Move cursor over the Show Comments on Layout button. Can confirm that it notes Show comments and not Hide Comments.
   - Click Show Comments on Layout and all the comment boxes appear again
   - Click Hide Comments on Layout and they all disappear again.
   - Leave the window, and return.
   * Half the boxes are there, the other half missing and some show partially.

   I have added an example of this; please ignore the smudges. That was me.

5. Data Merge Preview drops Paragraph Styles with Nested Styles

   Suppose you want to merge data, and format it with nested styles. For example, you want one word to be red, and the other blue. If the cell is empty, remove the line.

   This works as intended until you 'Preview' the document. When you view a record without data, then move to the next, the paragraph style is lost entirely!

   For example, I use this technique to merge many restaurant menus for many locations. A food item is regular up to a '$'. Then the price is italicized. Some locations don't offer this item. If I were to Preview one location's menu, then turn off Preview, and forget to reapply the style, then everyone's menu is effected.

   To illustrate, I've attached a super simple example. When you open the doc, the paragraph style is applied to the middle line. Turn on preview, and click [>] to the 3rd record. You see the paragraph style disappear all together.

6. Hi, I am using indesign CC 2018. When formatting text as a numbered list, the number is not displayed until I start typing.

   When I hit enter on the numbered text box, I want to see the number I'm about to start entering information for. If I don't see the number, my brain can't move forward onto the next idea.

7. Powerpoint document links don't work in Adobe Publish

   When I create a button that links to a Powerpoint document stored on my company OneDrive and publish via Adobe Publish online, the link brings up a black tab once clicked. The buttons work fine for any other document type, such as a PDF, but not with Powerpoint.

8. Text Form Fields do not export with inDesign CC 2018 14.0

   Form Fields do not export at all in the PDF when exported in the current version of inDesign. I am using the same exact settings as I did before I updated, and links DO work. Form fields just do not appear.

   To recreate:
   1) Make boxes where fields are required (in this case, on its own layer, which is visible and active)
   2) Using the Buttons and Forms panel, convert them to text boxes
   3) Export to PDF, making sure that the boxes for exporting interactive elements are checked, and the dropdown says to include appearance

   Resulting PDF does not have text fields.

   It looks like you are exporting to a Print PDF.
   For the Form Fields to work, you should choose Adobe PDF (Interactive) Format instead.

9. Pasting Chinese text from illustrator to Indesign changes the content of the text. Help!

   I have text in Illustrator that are in Chinese, using 苹方-简 typeface. When I copy and paste the same text into Indesign, the text changes into new characters.

   I know you need to expand the characters to use as vectors, but sometimes we need to change the text and go back and forth before finalizing. The question is why does it not do that for english text? I copy and paste between illustrator and indesign all the time, but this is the first time I've come across changing the text content completely.

   Running CC 2019 for all.

12. Library objects jump when being dragged onto the page

    In InDesign CC 14.0.1 objects dragged from a library jump from the designated location to the pasteboard at the top of the spread. They can be repositioned easily enough by dragging but it takes extra time.

13. InDesign hangs while exporting InDesign document as IDML

    Every time I try to save or export my InDesign document to idml it never finishes. It immediately goes to 27%, and then it never progresses.

14. PageMaker import doesn't work.

    InDesign is supposed to import PageMaker 6.5 documents. Adobe gives instructions for it here: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/converting-quarkxpress-pagemaker-documents.html#convert_pagemaker_documents

    This doesn't work. Not only are p65 files not recognized as loadable by default, but attempting to load them forcibly results in an error message from InDesign.

15. Assets renamed in web view of CC Libraries don't retain name when imported into document

    I've been creating some CC Libraries with quite a few logo assets and have found it easier to do the renaming of the files in web view because it lets me copy/paste a file name, whereas the CC Libraries panel does not.

    I've just come across the issue that even though the names appear to have synced when I view the files in the Libraries panel, when I drag/drop or right-click > Place a file into my actual document, the name disappears from the asset in the Links panel. It defaults to whatever it was when i created the asset (usually Artwork 1). The only way to fix it is to rename it again inside the CC Libraries panel, which I was trying to avoid.

16. Rollover images "stick" in Interactive PDF

    Hi, I am working on the document that contains multiple rollovers. All of them "stick" at one point or another, the images will change to "rollover" state but not to the normal state when hovering off. This is very confusing for the end-users. Please see attached pdf. I am using InDesign CC 2018.

    Thank you all for reporting the issue to us.
    We have concluded our investigation into the issue. As per our findings, the bug belongs to Acrobat and there is little that can be done at InDesign’s end.

    We have already notified the concerned team, internally and they would be working on the same.

17. Master page bug

    When I try to adjust a master page in Indesign cc2019 (14.0.1) it makes a real mess. It used to be that if I had, for instance, a master page with a 6p margin on all sides and including threaded text boxes across the spread, if I changed the outer margin to 7p instead, the text box would automatically fit the new space. Now, the text box box turned into a very tiny box in the inner margin that has no relation to the margins I have set. In addition, other boxes on the page which are not part of the threaded text jump into strange and useless positions. For a book designer this is a nightmare. It means when you are working on a design you spend endless extra time readjusting boxes that then, for some reason don't always work correctly on the actual book pages. This NEVER happened in CC2018 so I think it's a bug or at any rate a major mess-up. Please fix!

18. Standard shortcuts cannot be substituted

    InDesign CC 14.0.1 x64 - It appears that as-standard shortcuts cannot be substituted, even though they show as if they have been. Specifically the 'W' shortcut. I want to substitute Ctrl+Alt+W in a new custom list based on the default list. This avoids any possibility of entering W in text. Even though I substitute the new command and remove the standard command, the new command does not work but the old one still does. I previously was able to do this with my previous version software.

19. content aware fit frame

    I just updated to cs2019. Selected the new feature 'content aware fit to frame'. Created a new document and inserted a new frame, tried to place a PDF image, keeps crashing. Turned the feature off and all ok again. Anyone else having this problem?

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

20. updating links

    When updating links in InDesign CC 14.0 (an InDesign file linked to 4 instances) the update comes in too large for the frame. So you have to Fit Content Proportionally. This happens with PSD and AI files as well.
