1. Bug - Crop image data exceeding frame

   Objects outside of the frame are still showing as hidden objects in a PDF. During export I made sure the Crop image data exceeding frame box was checked. However objects are still seen as ghost text.

2. Error Code 4 / Fehler Code 4: for not damaged documents

   1. Adobe Indesin CC 13.01 After the last Update of Indesign time by time suddenly Indesign report a damaged file if you try to open any InDesign-Document.

   Everytime after restarting the Mac everything is good and I'm fortunally able to open all o these documents.

   Sometimes restarting Indesign helps, but not always.

   The last 3 days it happens much to often und it nervs.

3. eyedropper not working correctly

   That's version 14.0.1.209

   When I create a NEW document — there is no problem, the eyedropper working correctly.
   BUT...
   When I work in a document that was previously in an earlier version (for example, CC 2018), then this problem is present.

   If I CREATE a new text box in a document that has been re-saved from an earlier version (IC 2018), then the eyedropper will not work correctly.

   If I CREATE a new text box in a NEW document (CCP 2019), and then transfer it to an old document, then the eyedropper in the new box will not work.

   If I CREATE a text box in a new document (CC 2019) and copy a text box with text from an old document (CC 2018) into a new document, and then take a sample with a eyedropper - the eyedropper working correctly.
   But if I copy this text box with the text back into the old version (CC 2018), then the eyedropper does not work again.

   P.S. Sorry for any translation errors.

   To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

   We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

6. [ID-4228495]Export Tagging: ‘i’ character in class name exports as blank space

   I just did the 2018 update, so I think it's the most recent version: 13.0 x64

   I have a document template that contains many character and paragraph styles with export CSS tags that contain the lowercase ‘i’ in them. This character is being exported as a blank space, which completely breaks the CSS, like this:
   should be: <p class="bright"></p>
   getting: <p class="br ght"></p>

   This problem was easily replicated in a fresh new document, so it’s something with InDesign, rather than my template file.

   This workflow involves complex style mapping through to CSS classes. Because so many of the classes contain the character 'i', this problem has brought the workflow to a dead halt.

   this is a bug, not a suggestion of new feature. On a page with Master Page A applied, the feature in Master Page A is detectable , pickable, and get union with object added to the page (e.g. a picture become embedded in the master page black rectangle )

8. SWF export showing blank page

   I have tried to export a 673 pages Indesign file into a SWF file, unfortunately after exporting its showing a blank page. nothing working like the interactivity, page curl etc. Also I need to export it into a Interactive PDF how to do that.. Please help.

9. Wacom tablet settings nonfunctional

   Wacom tablet setting for InDesign CC 2019 won't show or function in the active application. The touch ring and radial menu setting do not show up. The default settings appear instead. The screen grabs demonstrate how the touch ring behaves with the four default functions; autoscroll/Zoom, Cycle Layers, Brush Size and Canvas Rotation.

10. white overprint with placed INDD

    I stumbled across a strange phenomenon today. I have an INDD file (file 1), which is placed as such in another INDD file (file 2). In this file 1 there is a Swiss cross, which is placed as EPS. If this placed file 1 is exported as PDFX-4, everything looks correct. However, if the file 2 with the placed file 1 is exported as PDFX-4, something strange happens. The Swiss cross disappears in the PDF or the white is set to overprint. However, this is neither stored in file 1 nor in the EPS.

    I have the following
    Option 1: Save CH cross as AI. Works
    Option 2: Re-place link from file 1 to file 2. Fixes the error but not the cause.
    Option 3: Export as PDFX-4, change the PDF standard to 1.5/1.7 or similar and then back to 1.6. Should not change anything, but now comes out correctly.

12. Arabic

    Using Adobe Arabic font, and paragraph set to Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer, when I copy in Arabic with a period at the end of the sentence, InDesign is interpreting the period as Roman/English text and placing it to the far right of the sentence, instead of at the end of the sentence (far left).

    This is new since I last worked in these files in March of this year.

13. typekit fonts missing but return when InDesign is restarted twice

    1. InDesign CC 13.1 x64

    2. This bug happens every time I open an InDesign file that has a typekit font (any typekit font)

    3. The typekit font will show as active in my Creative Cloud assets panel. The expected result would be for the file to open with the fonts synced.

    4. Actual result: InDesign tells me that the fonts are not synced. The only way to fix it is to close and open the entire program twice.
       The third time the file is opened in the program, InDesign will show that the fonts are synced.

14. Clicking on image doesn't show it in the Links panel

    Clicking on an image within a frame doesn't show it in the Links panel, so I have to scroll through the list of links to find the image - This sometimes works, sometimes does not.

    Hi there – it seems that the CC 2019 (v. 14) can't Hyphenate. I use – without luck – the checkbox in the Control Panel. Have I missed a secret Button?

16. Background Tasks Palette too wide

    The Background Tasks Palette is too wide compared to other palettes in the UI (MacOS).
    I dock several palettes together to save real estate on my monitor. When I focus on most palettes, the width is 240 pixels, but the Background Tasks palette can't be made narrower than 400 pixels – a 66% increase! If there was a reason to have this palette be so wide I'd understand the limitation, but most of the relevant information in that palette would easily fit within the 240 width.

17. Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders.

    I can't even open InDesign anymore, I keep getting an error message that says "Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Ensure that you have appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign." I've changed permissions on every folder and file to "Read & Write" that I thought would help make it work but nothing is working. I was trying to open the latest version of ID, even undownloaded and tried using CC 2017 to no avail. I need this fixed ASAP.

    MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)
    MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.3

18. Anchored Textframes with Auto adjusting height within a Textfreame

    1. CC 2018 – 13.1 (Can't update to CC 2019 right now because of Plugins)
    3. Create a big "master" Text frame
    4. Create 2 more text frames that auto adjust in height and fill them with lorem ipsum or any text.
    5. Paste those two text frames into the first created "master" Text frame
    6. Change the Text in the first Text frame (Add some empty lines or remove text) and see InDesign fail to update.
    7. Expected result: Should be pretty obvious... InDesign should not fail to update the current view.
    8. Actual Result: All Textframes are misaligned because InDesign does not update correctly – If you dare to move the "master" text frame now it gets even stranger. - The only way to update it to the correct look is to force InDesign to update the text frame by changing something like space after in the "master" text frame. (See video and Screenshot attached)

Usecase: for Example DatabasePublishing inline publication - where every here shown "Textframe" would be a product within a Page – But it is impossible to work like this! – I could be wrong but i have a feeling that this is happening since the disapearing Tablehead bug got fixed (unconfirmed...) i don't have the option to test it in an older or newer version - but we never had this issue before.

19. InDesign files from CC to CS6 - hypenation won't work anymore

    In advance:
    - Our external writers send us InDesign CC files (idml and indd)
    - We open and save them in InDesign CS6
    - Our customers use InDesign CS6

    1. Version:
       InDesign CS6 8.0
       InDesign CC from 12.0 to 14.0.2 (others not tested)

    2. Steps:
       Since when: between 10 and 17. April 2019 (last time it worked on 10. April 2019)

    2.a Open InDesign CC (any version, i tested 12.0, 13.1, 14.0.1 and 14.0.2)
    2.b Save a file with activated hypenation (either indd or idml, both tested)
    2.c Open either one of 2.b. in CS6

    1. Expected result:
       Hypenation works as usual in CS6. Text fits frames.

20. Importing Microsoft Word files doc. and .docx

    Creative Cloud and Office 364 is up-to-date (although this issue happened before the upgrade so it has something to do with the import filter for .docx files into InDesign [this is the first occasion]).

    While importing a .docx file, revisions from the word file appeared in the layout text. I noticed as I started to typeset. Scary.

    Checked the Word file, upon Select All, references in the text were highlighted in a darker gray. There was no extra text appearing and revisions were all approved and accepted.

    Word file was saved as a .dotx file and imported, the mysteriously embedded text appeared the layout.

    When the file was saved as .doc and reimported into InDesign the text disappeared?

    Imported the word .docx file into Quark and no mysterious text either.

    This was the first occasion, but it is has made me quite wary. Please advise if this has occurred with any other users.
