1. [ID-4272869] InDesign adds Blank space to top during PNG export for converted documents

   I booted up 2026 (version 21.0) and opened a file that I was working on literally yesterday. I have a text box over a solid fill background shape. When I exported them both together yesterday, it worked as expected. Today, it exports with an obnoxious blank space (or filled space if I uncheck "Transparent Background") at the top.

   Absolutely nothing changed with the file, it's just happening in 2026 and not in 2025. Comparison attached.

3. Duplicated layers when placing Illustrator files

   When an Illustrator file is placed in InDesign, the tab with Layer options shows multiple versions of the same layers. The number of layers is multiplied by the number of artboards.

   I see this issue with newly created Illustrator files. The older .ai files are placed correctly.

4. [ID-4260604] InDesign with Typeface app is going in Protective Shutdown on document close

   Customer Scenario1

   Brand new Indesign 20.2: open any document, change nothing in it and close it. Indesign gives a warning and then crashes.
   MacOS 15.3.1 (24D70), Macstudio M2, I have reset all personal prefs, I am using Typeface app. This didn't happen with 20.1

   Customer Scenario2

   Doing a data merging of a .CSV file.

   Result

   InDesign is going in Protective Shutdown for few scenarios

   Workaround

   • Deactivate the Typeface app and continue to work with InDesign v20.2.0.36
   • Rolling back to InDesign 20.1.0.71 to continue to work with the Typeface app

6. History - Undo - Redo & Corrupted files

   First issue has been addressed before, but doesn't seem to get a fix. History step gets erased after 10 seconds, so you can undo only during these 10 seconds. Otherwise no undo, no redo. Huge issue.

   Second issue, some pages get corrupted for no reason? Layers on these pages get disappeared and reappeared some times with no ability to access them. Can't move, can't see them some times and when the whole document is about to be exported, those pages give an error "There's an error in page 94" and the exportion is canceled. The only fix is to delete the page and recreate it one again, HOWEVER, when I did create one of them in the same page number as the corrupted one, it still gave me the same result, it was corrupted. I had to add 2 blank pages to get it to work. Like why? Does anyone else have the same problem? Please fix! I can't work like that and I have deadlines to reach.

7. Indesign 21.0.2 packaging not compatible on macOS 26 Tahoe

   • Indesign 21.0.2 packaging fails on machines updated to macOS 26 Tahoe.

   • When a file is packaged an error message is returned, indicating an error when copying links.
     This error does not appear when the same file is packaged on a system using an older mac OS. (Sonoma 14.6.1)

   • Our team has checked all linked files for corrupt files, errors in naming, missing links - there are none of these errors across our files.

   • This is a recurring error for any Indesign version 21.02.2 and older on machines updated to macOS 26 Tahoe. We have tried various files on various computers, recieving the same error each time.

9. [ID-4264855] Issue with Animated Zoom in GPU

   New PC GPU zoom doesn't seem to centre the zoom on the cursor leading to not super useful behaviour (you have to zoom and then drag with the hand tool to get back to what you were originally trying to zoom into). It's very disorientating.

10. [ID-4273319] InDesign 2026 shows Damaged document when opening previous version documents from Synology NAS

    InDesign 2026 says that my documents are damaged.
    All documents that are on my Synology NAS. Connected via SMB3.
    (InDesign 2025 works fine.)

    If I quit and restart InDesign 2026 - I can open one file once. Alla files after that is "damaged".
    New file created with InDesign 2026 and saved on NAS works.
    Looks like the issue is with documents from previous version that opens as "converted".
    Only happens on NAS. Not on local files.

    Workaround: Copy indd file to your local drive, open, save and upload back to its original location

11. Workspace resets every time I open (InDesign 2026)

    On the new InDesign (v21.0) all of my workspaces have been reset and aren't saving properly every time I open a new document. I even set up my docked tabs and tab groups and saved them to a NEW workspace within a fresh 2026 file, and it reset to a default state next time it's opened. It seems to ignore all of the tools I've chosen to remove from their tab groups and opens with all of the default tools within those tab groups.

    The screenshot with all of the icons is what all of my workspaces revert to upon opening InDesign 2026, while the other screenshot is what I've saved my workspace to include.

    On the new InDesign (v21.0) all of my workspaces have been reset and aren't saving properly every time I open a new document. 12. Hyphenation settings see note references as a character

    Hypenation settings consider a note reference as a character, so if you have a footnote callout at the end of a word and hyphenation settings are set to "before last 3" it will make 2-letter hyphenation.

    Issue also observed in much earlier versions (since CS5.5).
    Steps to reproduce:
    Create a document with paragraph units set to millimeters.
    Create a paragraph with a left indent of exactly 5 mm.
    Open Find/Change.
    In Find Text, set Left Indent to 5 mm by typing it manually.
    Run Find – the paragraph is found.
    Save this Find/Change query.
    Reload the saved query.
    Run Find again.
    Expected result:
    The saved query should find the same paragraphs as when the value is entered manually.
    Actual result:
    After reloading the saved query, the paragraph is not found.
    Additional details:
    Via the scripting API the difference can be observed.
    Manual entry via UI:
    app.findTextPreferences.leftIndent = 14.1732283464567
    After reloading saved query:
    app.findTextPreferences.leftIndent = 14.17322834
    The reduced numeric precision causes the query to fail.
    This appears to be a precision loss when persisting Find/Change query settings.
    The issue affects both UI and scripting workflows.
    Using paragraph or character styles does not prevent this issue, as it is related to how numeric values are stored and restored in saved queries.

    When a word contains a discretionary hyphen that falls within the "After First X Letters" or "Before Last X Letters" prohibited zone, InDesign should:
    1. Respect the discretionary hyphen's exclusivity (only break where discretionary hyphen appears)
    2. Refuse to break the word at all since the only allowed break point falls within the prohibited zone
    3. Not apply automatic hyphenation anywhere else in the word

    Why in the world would they do this??? Yet another meaningless update to hinder production.

    This option was updated in InDesign 20.0 version to match industry standards and stay consistent. We standardized this behavior to make workflows more predictable across products.

16. [ID-4273762] Critical bug — Dropdown / <select> / sp-picker not working in UXP plugin under InDesign 2025 (Win & Mac)

    I'm contacting you about a recurring bug I've encountered—and that several other developers have reported—since the Adobe InDesign 2025 update (versions 20.4, 20.4.1, 20.5).

    🔹 Problem Description

    • In a plugin using Adobe UXP (UI HTML or Spectrum), the dropdown elements <select>—or <sp-picker>—no longer respond to clicks: the border may change color, but the list doesn't open, and it's impossible to select an item.

    • Even when using minimal HTML code or testing from UXP Developer Tools (Playground), the problem persists.

    • This bug seems to affect several environments (Windows 11, different versions of InDesign, and possibly macOS as well, according to community feedback).

    • In some cases, events (click, change, keydown, etc.) are no longer emitted for form controls.

    🔹 Impact

    Existing plugins become unusable — users are unable to enter or select options, thus blocking normal operation.

    Production usage is severely disrupted.

    Loss of confidence in the stability of the UXP runtime.

    🔹 Step to reproduce

    1 - Create starter package
    2 - Add select with options tags
    3 - Use UXP Developer tools or package it
    4 - Open panel in Indesign 2025
    - under 20.4 version, it works fine. We can open option in select
    - upper 20.3 version, select tags, checkbox,... doesn't work

    🔹 What I'm asking

    Can you confirm that this bug has been identified internally?

    Is there a planned fix (future version or update) to restore the behavior of dropdown lists/sp-picker/select in UXP under InDesign 2025?

    If not, is it possible to obtain an official workaround (patch, beta build, directive) for our plugins in production?

    Thank you in advance for your help—this bug seriously compromises the reliability of UXP plugins. I am available to provide code examples, reproductions, or logs if that would be helpful.

17. Deleting an odd number of pages causes the text frame derived from the primary text frame to double

    1. specify a primary text frame for both the left and right pages on the parent page. (figure1)
    2. Delete an odd number of pages. At this time, the parent page is reapplied.
    3. The text frame will be doubled. (figure2)

    Deleting (or adding) an even number of pages will not result in this behavior.
    Deletion/addition of an odd number of pages should not cause doubling.
    Specifically, we would like the text chain of the text frame for which the primary text frame is specified to be retained. (figure3)

    Reference:
    I believe the primary text chain is a feature that was added with the automatic text chain that was in QuarkXPress in mind, but the automatic text chain in QX did not cause duplication when odd number of pages were increased or decreased.

    ページを奇数枚削除した場合、プライマリーテキストフレーム由来のテキストフレームが二重化する

    1.　親ページで、左右ページともにプライマリーテキストフレームを指定しておく。（figure1)
    2.　ページを奇数枚削除する。このとき、親ページの再適用が行われる。
    3.　テキストフレームが二重化する。（figure2）

    偶数枚のページの削除（もしくは追加）では、この挙動にはならない。
    奇数枚のページの削除／追加でも、二重化しないようにしてほしい。
    具体的には、プライマリーテキストフレームが指定されているテキストフレームのテキストチェーンが保持されるようにしてほしい。（figure3）

    参考：
    プライマリテキストチェーンは、QuarkXPressにあった自動テキストチェーンを意識して追加された機能だと思っているが、QXの自動テキストチェーンでは、奇数枚のページの増減で二重化が起きることはなかった。

18. Highlighting or Changing Text

    I’m experiencing an issue when highlighting text to delete it, changing the case, or switching fonts. The entire text, including the text above (on the same page), disappears. If I scroll up and then back down, I can make it reappear.

19. [ID-4273263]With application frame "OFF", and multiple documents open InDesign 26 will resize them when switching between

    Before upgrading, I used to be able to have multipe .indd docs open next to a spreadsheet on my screen, now they automatically change size when I switch between them, seemingly "remembering" the state they were last resized to.

20. [ID-4262670][ERROR(RSC-005) in EPUB Checker]InDesign 20.3 creates target attributes to every link in EPUB

    The latest InDesign version (20.3) creates target="_blank" attributes to every link when exported as EPUB. Doesn't matter if the link contains URL or it's a link from a text anchor. The latest EPUB Check version (5.2.1) gives an error with every link that doesn't have href attribute which means every text anchor is invalid.

    For example:
    <h1 id="_idParaDest-1" class="Header-1"><a id="_idTextAnchor000" target="_blank"></a>Foreword</h1>

    In EPUB Check this is an error:
    ERROR(RSC-005): Error while parsing file: element "a" missing required attribute "href"
