Auto-size text boxes with rounded corners expands randomly.
Version 2018, 13.0
Set a text box to auto size height and width (with no line breaks)
Make the corners rounded
As you can see in the attached jpgs of before and after, sometimes the box expands in width and sometimes in height, but randomly, not wrapping around the text correctly.15 votesHi,
Can you please mail me a sample document to reproduce the issue? I am unable to reproduce the bug.
Is the issue only specific to 13.0? What is the reference point for the autosize?-Aman

title bar icons
Editable Title bar ... let us firstly remove the Br and St icons (really that stock stuff!!!) ... and possibly add our own buttons ... Primarily though allow us to disable stock throughout CC ...

Hanging Indent plus Left Justify makes words float out of text frame
I often use bulleted lists with the commmand/backslash (hanging indent) tool. If the text is aligned left, no problem. But when I use left justify, it sends some of the words off to the right — outside of the text frame! Please see examples below.
The text samples here were using Adobe Paragraph Composer. But when I switched it to World-Ready it fixed it!
I've been having this problem for a while. Before I updated to InDesign 2018 and after the update as well. I'm running El Capitan 10.11.6 on a Mid 2011 iMac.
Solved in this thread: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2462045

crash when deleting line
InDesign crashes on selecting a specific line in TOC
Hi! When trying to delete some lines in the TOC, some lines cause crashes. For one line it seems impossible to delete it. When selecting the line or the space the cursor freezes within seconds and a crash report appears.
On reopening the file an error message appears, though the file can be opened.
Attached are two screenshots and the file.

Hyperlink
Hyperlinks are not working when exporting to PDF from InDesign. Please fix this bug.
8 votes -
I'm using Windows with InDesign cc 2018, but I can't seem to export a single page from a multipage document.
I know I can export separate pdf files, but I don't want 90 separate pages, I should be able to simply select one page and export it, with the printer's marks. I also tried to print to pdf using the print settings, but was unable to create a pdf file with the printer's marks and bleed, even though these were selected in the dialogue box.

Indic script rendering issue
It seems that Indic Scripts should be supported by default in InDesign, without having to separately check boxes in preferences or select "World Ready Paragraph Composer" in the paragraph window's menu.

Error Code 6: Could not complete your request because of a database error. The file <filename> is damaged
Working off remotely off a server (been doing it this way for years without issue). Today, I tried to open my InDesign file and it only partially loaded (with some linked images missing). Then I get the prompt "Could not complete your request because of a database error. The file "Ebook-3WaysToHoseYourAD-US-GM-32410.indd" is damaged (Error code:6).
What can I do to restore my file?
2 votesWith the release of InDesign 2020(15.0.1), we have enhanced our recovery workflow which fixes multiple scenarios of document corruption.
If your file is still not getting repaired in latest InDesign , can you please share the document with Grp-idfile@adobe.com.

[ID-4213625]Indesign performance issue : Bad performance when using span columns in InDesign/InCopy
VERSIONS
Windows 7, CC 2015.4 and CC 2017.0
Windows 10, CC 2015.4 and CC 2017.0
macOS 10.12, CC 2015.4
even CS6 versions are affected...
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an InDesign document with several pages
2. Define the text frame options with two columns
3. Link all frames and fill with placeholder text
4. Create a new paragraph style with the option "span columns" (e.g. title)
5. Define several parts of the layout with the new paragraph style
6. Edit some text near the paragraph style
--> the performance while typing is very very bad!!!

Hyperlinks not detected
The "Convert URLs to Hyperlinks" function in the hyperlinks panel is not working properly in CC 2018. Not all the links are detected. There doesn’t seem to be any logic in which links are detected and which are not, it seems very random.
7 votesHi,
I tried out with various hyperlinks and the function is working fine for me.
Please try it out with the latest release and even then if you encountering the same issue,
please provide sample documents with which you are facing the issue or just add a small video (on WeTransfer/Youtube/Dropbox) and share the link. Please do mention your machine configuration like OS, Locale.
You can also send files/links directly to paawasth@adobe.com
Thanks & Regards

eyedropper tool
Adobe InDesign CC 2017 (also 2018) The eyedropper tool does not work on text, when there is a second layer with data in it. On the screenshot I tried to make the text green.
When the red layer is turned off, it works properly.3 votes -
Indesign crashes when I export 2 PDF files in a row.
I always create two PDF files for clients. One with spreads and one with single pages. But every time I try to export the second PDF (no matter which I do first) the app crashes.
This happens every single time, even if I wait until the first PDF is long finished.
3 votesTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

book file don't work
Hi,
unfortunately it looks like the book file isn't work anymore with InDesign CC 2018.1 in Windows 10.
On my Mac it is working! I have attached two hardcopies (the one with correct page numbers is from Mac, the other from Windows 10 pro).
Obviously I tried to create a new book file and added files manually – same result.
As a result all cross-references between documents are wrong.
Any ideas?
Ulrich
2 votesWe’ve tried to reproduce the issue you’ve mentioned. It is working as expected.
Could you elaborate a bit more on the exact steps you are doing when you see the problem? If you could also attach a small demo movie, that’ll be even more helpful. Thanks,

Images pixelated when published online, if the frame is scaled
Images inside scaled frames can be pixelated when published. It looks like the frame scaling is applied to the resolution i.e. a 10% scaled frame will have 10% of the desired resolution. Reproducible if 'Adjust scaling percentage' preference is set. Setting a higher export resolution in the 'Publish Online' dialogue doesn't fix it.
InDesign CC 2018, probably older versions with Publish online.

Printing scale issues when printing with different color output options for composites
Hello everyone,
spotted nasty printing bug.
When printing using "scale to fit", OUTPUT->Color: Composite and OUTPUT->Color: InRip or just Separations then the prints do not match (crop marks, image etc.) between "Composite" and "Separations".
Paper size and printer model doesn't matter.
Versions tested: InDesign CS6, CC17, CC18 all on OS X 10.10, 10.13

InDesign 2018 crashes when I update the links in the links panel
InDesign 2018 crashes when I update the links in the links panel. It does not matter which size they have.
I'm using Indesign 2018 since yesterday. Running on a power Mac 2017.
To finish my document I had to install indesign 2017 again and start all over! What can I do?13 votesFix of the issue is now available in InDesign’s latest November’17 update.
Please upgrade to the latest version InDesign CC 13.0.1 for the fix.If you are unable to see the update, go to Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.
Thanks,

Exporting a Snippet Causes Crash
Whenever I try to export a snippet, either through dragging the ID item onto the desktop, or by going to File > Export > Snippet, InDesign will crash. The only way to get a snippet is by adding it to a library by using the flout menu in the Library panel.
I am on mac OS 13.13.3 and InDesign 13.0.1
