1. Page Margins Bug

   I am having a bug/issue with margins. In the page setup and the properties dialogues the measurements are showing as the defaults, but clearly they have been changed as noted in the attached file. This file was created in an earlier version of INDD.

   The Document Setup shows the Margins of the document when it was created or margins that will be assigned to any new pages you add to the document. However, you can override margins of individual pages by using the Margins and Columns dialog. And this is what has been done for the Page – the Top and Outside margins have been set to 25mm and 45mm respectively (changed from their default setting of 12.7mm).

2. Clicking on image doesn't show it in the Links panel

   Clicking on an image within a frame doesn't show it in the Links panel, so I have to scroll through the list of links to find the image - This sometimes works, sometimes does not.

3. No Hyphenation in CC 2019 (ver. 14)

   Hi there – it seems that the CC 2019 (v. 14) can't Hyphenate. I use – without luck – the checkbox in the Control Panel. Have I missed a secret Button?

4. Background Tasks Palette too wide

   The Background Tasks Palette is too wide compared to other palettes in the UI (MacOS).
   I dock several palettes together to save real estate on my monitor. When I focus on most palettes, the width is 240 pixels, but the Background Tasks palette can't be made narrower than 400 pixels – a 66% increase! If there was a reason to have this palette be so wide I'd understand the limitation, but most of the relevant information in that palette would easily fit within the 240 width.

5. Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders.

   I can't even open InDesign anymore, I keep getting an error message that says "Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Ensure that you have appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign." I've changed permissions on every folder and file to "Read & Write" that I thought would help make it work but nothing is working. I was trying to open the latest version of ID, even undownloaded and tried using CC 2017 to no avail. I need this fixed ASAP.

   MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)
   MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.3

   Please let me know what other information you need.

6. Anchored Textframes with Auto adjusting height within a Textfreame

   1. CC 2018 – 13.1 (Can't update to CC 2019 right now because of Plugins)
   3. Create a big "master" Text frame
   4. Create 2 more text frames that auto adjust in height and fill them with lorem ipsum or any text.
   5. Paste those two text frames into the first created "master" Text frame
   6. Change the Text in the first Text frame (Add some empty lines or remove text) and see InDesign fail to update.
   7. Expected result: Should be pretty obvious... InDesign should not fail to update the current view.
   8. Actual Result: All Textframes are misaligned because InDesign does not update correctly – If you dare to move the "master" text frame now it gets even stranger. - The only way to update it to the correct look is to force InDesign to update the text frame by changing something like space after in the "master" text frame. (See video and Screenshot attached)

Usecase: for Example DatabasePublishing inline publication - where every here shown "Textframe" would be a product within a Page – But it is impossible to work like this! – I could be wrong but i have a feeling that this is happening since the disapearing Tablehead bug got fixed (unconfirmed...) i don't have the option to test it in an older or newer version - but we never had this issue before.

7. InDesign files from CC to CS6 - hypenation won't work anymore

   In advance:
   - Our external writers send us InDesign CC files (idml and indd)
   - We open and save them in InDesign CS6
   - Our customers use InDesign CS6

   1. Version:
      InDesign CS6 8.0
      InDesign CC from 12.0 to 14.0.2 (others not tested)

   2. Steps:
      Since when: between 10 and 17. April 2019 (last time it worked on 10. April 2019)

   2.a Open InDesign CC (any version, i tested 12.0, 13.1, 14.0.1 and 14.0.2)
   2.b Save a file with activated hypenation (either indd or idml, both tested)
   2.c Open either one of 2.b. in CS6

   1. Expected result:
      Hypenation works as usual in CS6. Text fits frames.

   3. Hypenation doesn't work in CS6 which resluts in text frames having overflow

   4. Test files and information:
      Already tested:

   5. de- and reactivating hypenation in CS6

   6. checking for "no break" option

   7. checking every used paragraph- and character-format

   10. checking autocorrection options

   11. saved the file as idml and indd in CC 12.0, 13.1, 14.0.1, 14.0.2 and then opened it in CS6

8. Importing Microsoft Word files doc. and .docx

   Creative Cloud and Office 364 is up-to-date (although this issue happened before the upgrade so it has something to do with the import filter for .docx files into InDesign [this is the first occasion]).

   While importing a .docx file, revisions from the word file appeared in the layout text. I noticed as I started to typeset. Scary.

   Checked the Word file, upon Select All, references in the text were highlighted in a darker gray. There was no extra text appearing and revisions were all approved and accepted.

   Word file was saved as a .dotx file and imported, the mysteriously embedded text appeared the layout.

   When the file was saved as .doc and reimported into InDesign the text disappeared?

   Imported the word .docx file into Quark and no mysterious text either.

   This was the first occasion, but it is has made me quite wary. Please advise if this has occurred with any other users.

9. Mp4 not work at "Place from URL" Option

   I have place mp4 files from "Place from URL" option in the document and its place nicely when I have prepared epub and publish online then doc display empty page after discussion with adobe they told me that mp4 not compatible, so i have to convert video in FLV extension then it will work, which is impossible for me. MP4 is most useful extension and Adobe need to solve this and make mp4 compatible for it.

   Keep in Mind when we place from "Place from URL" Not direct placing of MP4 file, "Place form URL" Option.

10. boxes in all control panels can not be activaded

    In every control panel (no matter where) text or values in the boxes can not be activated. To enter new values or text, I have to delete each letter individually, forwards or backwards. This is very annoying.
    When will this bug finally be fixed?

11. AIGPU sniffer

    Hi I keep having two problems with CC. It seems that Every adobe product that I use opens AIGPU sniffer in ICONS of "last used". Kind of annoying to see that on my OS toolbar all the time.

    Second problem is a spacebar hand problem - even I have seen some solutions it seems it is always something different that interrupts this feature - this is crucial tool to use.

    Both of those bugs I noticed right after I downloaded another update for CC that I always do and I expect to have some bugs on the start - got used to it. But most of the time they are gone after few weeks after upgrade - this time it is months. Please get a new update.

12. content aware fit and EXIF information

    Content aware fit works fine with landscape oriented pictures. And with pictures saved from Photoshop, even if in portrait mode. But when I place a picture in portrait mode which has not been saved by Photoshop yet, there is a problem: Content aware fit seems to ignore the EXIF information in the picture, and treats the picture as landscape-oriented.
    
    I get the same problem when using portrait mode pictures in an ePub with flexible layout. So I think InDesign should read the information of a picture more accurate than it does now.
    Similar but on a different part of the program: InDesign doesn't read colorsync profiles in pictures when they are not saved through Photoshop first. I disapprove this laziness, since Photoshop is perfectly capable of reading the information.

13. Cross reference formats

    Indesign 13.1, Windows
    When editing a cross reference format there is a button to insert special characters such as "opening simple quotation mark" and "closing simple quotation mark" which should look like ,this'. Instead, the resulting opening character is an asterisk (*) and the closing character is a plus (+) -> *this+

15. Slow performance with DFS Namespace

    I'm having problem with Indesign and file and folder on a DFS Namespace, Export takes lot of time while locally no problem. I've tried disabling background export, same problem.

16. Error Code 0 - Often can't save as InDesign-Document

    InDesign often says that it can't save my InDesign-Document, because its damaged (error code 0) . It damage my files, so that i've to save as IDML.

    Annoying.

    Cant't reproduce the problem.
    I work local, so it can't be an connection-problem.

    Few of our users have commented that the issue is still not fixed for them. We sincerely regret the trouble caused.

17. problem with command "cross column"

    when I apply the command "cross columns" to a title and in the next page there is no space to scroll the text, the title instead of remaining in the current page goes to the next page

18. Radial gradient becomes oval when rectangle frame is vertical

    Radial gradient becomes oval when rectangle frame is vertical

    1) Version: InDesign CC 2018
    2) Draw a vertical rectangular shape and insert a radial gradient
    3) Expecting the gradient to be a perfect circle.
    4) Actual result is an oval gradient that is impossible to change into a perfect circular gradient, even when holding the Shift key while using the Gradient Swatch Tool.
    5) No matter what I do, the gradient remains an oval, unless I stretch the shape back to a square or a horizontal rectangle.

    The only annoying way I found to temporarily solve this problem is to rotate the horizontal rectangle 90 degrees. This allows me to use the Gradient Swatch Tool as I wish to create a perfect circular blend anywhere in the rectangular shape.

    Any solution to this without having to rotate the shape?

20. Hyperlinks copy/pasted between files *appear* to break after source document is removed.

    Using CC2019 on a Mac running High Sierra

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Create a document with a few hyperlinks in it.
    2) Whilst this document is open, open a 2nd document, and copy/paste the links from one document to the other.
    3) Save both and close.
    4) Trash source document

    Expected result: hyper links should work in Target document as expected.

    Actual result: hyperlinks all appear broken in document. Whilst an exported PDF appears to still work, ID reports all those links as broken.

    Other details:
    If you retrieve the source document from the trash, it the links in the target document suddenly start working again, meaning your not actually pasting the hyperlink, but theres some sort of link that exists between the source and target document.

    Saving target file as a new file, saving as idml, has no effect – those links are still tied to the source document.

    This in an absolute tragedy if you are working on large documents with lots of links, and needs fixing ASAP

    Using CC2019 on a Mac running High Sierra

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Create a document with a few hyperlinks in it.
    2) Whilst this document is open, open a 2nd document, and copy/paste the links from one document to the other.
    3) Save both and close.
    4) Trash source document

    Expected result: hyper links should work in Target document as expected.
