  2. error message about activating fonts constantly flicking up, then disappearing.

    the error message is constantly just flicking on screen and disappearing. it even pops up when using other programs in front of in design.

    could fonts just go into memory once you open a doc and there is plenty of memory left. to avoid constant font issues. indesign is always telling me fonts that are installed have gone missing, then a few seconds later they come back.

  3. InDesign performance issue: Slow on documents present on server

    it's not an idea, but a problem. Indesign creates problems on the network and is very slow with server documents, as never before. The media told me to work locally, but I ask Adobe to solve the problem. Windows 10 64 bit - Intel processor 32 GB of ram.

  4. Can't move anything with selection tool

    Mac OS Sierra v 10.12.6 and Indesign 2019
    Since yesterday I can't work. I can use the selection tool to move things around. I only can move things using the X and Y boxes or the arrows. It is impossible to work. Who do I have to call? There is no solution anywhere, after trying so many things. I finally installed and then installed back InDesign and nothing has changed.

  5. Snapping objects is funky

    When moving or scaling objects and aligning (snapping) them to guides or objects, they don't snap to the guides or objects exactly. I regularly
    need to zoom in and visually align them correctly.

  7. SRA3 format not found

    Hello everyone,
    I have the problem with printing SRA3 using InDesign.
    When you choose the format, SRA3 is not listed in there. The strange thing is, that we have multiple systems, that don't have this issue, but run on the same OS, using the same printer, driver, etc..
    In Photoshop for example, the SRA3 format is listed, but in InDesign, it is not.
    I'm not sure what could cause this problem.

    Used system:
    Operating system: Mac Mojave
    Printer: Xerox C60

  8. Crash on using Align Distribute option

    Help!! I used to be able to get the page tool, highlight multiple pages across a spread in the pages palette, then set the space between pages in the toolbar and use the distribute button to get even spacing between pages. Since updating to InDesign 2019 (v14.0.1), the “use spacing” measurement field never completely shows in the info bar, and every time I hit the “distribute horizontal” button, InDesign IMMEDIATELY crashes. I am using MacOS 10.13.6. Please help, I use this feature A LOT.

    The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update 14.0.2 of InDesign 2019.
    If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
    Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.

  9. publishing not working in chrome, FF

    I am using indesign 13.1. I have several published documents that are suddenly not working in FF and Chrome, but are working in Safari.

    For example, click on read now on this page:
    https://merce-cunningham-bm.now.sh/history-detail

    or this page:

    https://sfarts.org/monthly.cfm

    In Chrome -- nothing happens. But those pages work in Safari.

    Those two documents were created by different companies, so it is not an indesign intallation issue, as the support chat person insisted.

    These pages have been working well for a long time.

    I am the only one affected by this? Seems unlikely....

  11. adobe freezing and getting beach ball spin constantly

    Everytime I upload, save, place etc I get beach ball after beach ball...

    It's not my computer...I have the 10k Imac Pro...

    It mainly started when I installed OS Mojave. Adress this asap please as it is affecting work flow.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

    MacOS 10.14.4

    I'm having a problem with the publish online feature. I have a 94 page directory that I published online back in January, which worked perfectly, all url's active and clickable. Today I have updated the print version of the job and created the new interactive version ready to publish online. However, when I 'Publish Online' from indesign and view the document, non of the url's appear to be active and clickable. I have tried creating a new document with just a single url for testing purposes and that doesn't work either. - the problem seems to…

  14. Apply Overrides to style using option click not working

    1. InDesign CC2019
    2. option-clicking on a style sheet should apply it with clear overrides.

  15. PDF Export causes Acrobat to crash

    I am having trouble exporting InDesign files to PDF.

    This is what I'm seeing:
    Exporting PDFs from InDesign works fine if no PDF is open. If you have a PDF already open or are exporting a 2nd PDF with the first still open it crashes Adobe.

    I have updated Windows to a later version, checked drivers, the event viewer logs. I looked for similar issues online, repaired Acrobat from Control panel and from within the app.

    Please share any advice.

  16. Indesign Beach Balling on Mac

    We have a 2017 iMac that is running High Sierra 10.13.6 with InDesign 14.0.1 and with working on a US Letter sized document with a text box with a single line of type, and one placed image, we get beach balling.

    First open the document, can do anything we want (from typing new text or moving the picture box on the page, to even selecting a menu item) for about 30 seconds to a minute. After that, the beach balling starts. Then it seems to freeze for about 30 seconds to a minute, and then we can do ONE thing…

  17. HTML Image Export — choosing 'Original' doesn't grey out the other export options

    InDesign 14.0.2 Mac.

    When exporting HTML, in the Image Export options panel (see screenshot attached) choosing 'Original' is supposed to make all the other options (quality/filetype/etc.) greyed-out/disabled, because they are no longer relevant.

    Right now they're staying active, which is confusing. Per the InDesign documentation, they're supposed to be dimmed whenever ORIGINAL is selected as the image export method:

    "ORIGINAL: Exports the original image to the “<document_name>-web-images” subfolder. When this option is selected, all other options are dimmed."

  18. ePub incorrect color conversion of placed images

    Mac running 10.14.4
    InDesign 14.0.2 working color space is sRGB
    Image placed has embedded profile of sRGB
    Native InDesign content created with color numbers matching those in image
    Exported to ePub

    Result: RGB color numbers of native object correctly match those of original sRGB numbers BUT those of the placed image have changed. The numbers indicate they have been converted to the active display ICC profile!
    Happens whether object export options on image are set to JPEG or PNG.

    I confirmed this by changing the monitor profile in System Preferences and relaunching InDesign. the exported image's color numbers changed to…

  19. font search

    Have text or text box highlighted and want to select new font. Go to type in the Character box for a font I know I have, but it will not recognise it (happens with multiple fonts, not one particular one). If I then open the menu and scroll down the list and manually select the font I want, I can then type it in.
