  1. Emoji for Print: Update EmojiOne Color and Support COLR Fonts

I work for a large book publisher and more and more books (especially YA) include a lot of emoji. To the point that having to replace all emoji with art is a tedious process. For workflow efficiency and for accessibility issues, we utilize emoji fonts and convert them to outline, then color correct for print (grayscale or CMYK). That way we can support diverse emoji and preserve the unicode values so that characters are maintained as manuscripts go from Word to InDesign.

Right now, emoji fonts that support shading and skin tone/hair color options come in two flavors--OpenType SVG and…

  2. Is there any way to setting in PDF, if open PDF file any other system NVDA work perfectly, with issue.

These are steps set the preference in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
    1. Edit\Preferences\Reading\
    Screen Reader Options\
Page vs Document: Read the entire document.
    2. Setup Assistant\Accessibility Setup Assistant\
Set all accessibility options --->Next --> Next --->Next
Read the entire document at once
Override Page Layout Style ---> Page Layout: Continuous---> Next--->Done
But when I run NVDA in PDF on our system then work fine because there are already a preference setting, but once I transfer the pdf file to another system then open in Acrobat Reader, no working NVDA, there is required setting once again in every Acrobat reader, then…

  3. export multiple PDFs (different presets) at once from one InDesign file

When I package a file for print, I often need to export an additional "Smallest File Size" PDF as well. Would be great if that could be done with a single export.

  4. Export Book: Option to export documents in book as individual PDFs

When using the book export, it would be wonderful to have the option to export the documents that make up the book as separate PDFs.

This option would be useful whether exporting the entire book to PDF or exporting selected documents to PDF. Metadata embedded in each document of the book would be included in the export to pdf.

For example, I currently create a journal using the book function to pull together and organize the separate INDD files for the cover, TOC, and articles. Once the journal is completed, I need to generate the following PDF

  5. Keep range highlighted in pdf window so you don't have to highlight it by hand

When selecting a pdf preset, it opens the window to name the pdf, then opens the pdf window. In InDesign 5, you were able, at that pdf window, to just type the page number of the page you wanted to create a pdf of. The range option was already highlighted automatically. This was really easy and fast when creating multiple (especially 100 or more) pdfs of single pages of your document, for example: for a magazine or booklet that has to be sent to a printer. In the new InDesign, when you get to that pdf window, you…

  6. Enable switching of pages in imported pdfs

I wish there was a way to change the page of an imported multi-page pdf instead of going to relink the image (to the same file) and selecting the page with the import options clicked. This would save me so much time. All it would require is a page up/down button in the links palette that would only be visible when a multi page pdf was linked in the document.

  8. Pdf with images folder paths links

Sometimes we work on big catalogues with lots of images. And sometimes those images are located in various folders accross our servers and we cannot move them until the work is done.
Lots of times my post production coworkers, to speed up the work, ask me the folder path of some images, and i need every time to open the catalogue, search the image and check the links panel to tell him the right folder path.

I'm asking to put an option, when we create pdf's, to automatically insert the folder path over every image inside the pdf.

  9. Enable Hyperlinks to Stay Live in PDFs ... Even After Importation into InDesign

    Hi folks

We have figured out a 'work-around' to the problem of maintaining live hyperlinks in PDFs throughout the entire exporting/importing process in InDesign. However, it's purely a bandaid - although it works well. It would be great to have this process built in as a feature. I've attached a PDF with our workflow methodologies for your review.

  10. Need an Ignore button for Missing Fonts in imported PDF Image files, like JPGs.

Have an Ignore button for Missing Fonts in imported JPG PDF's.
When graphic PDF's are imported Indesign tries to recognise the fonts when there are no fonts there, like the name of a street sign or shop sign.. If I don't want it to recognize PDF imports there should be a button to ignore font substitutions. Instead I often get a hindered font errors where non exist and no way to clear them.

Have verified with Adobe InDesign and Adobe PDF technical support that there is no way to ignore these errors and it needs to be a…

  12. Export as TIFF

Some applications often request TIFF files. Especially, when the file size exceeds PDF dimensions. The work around of export to a PDF and then to a TIFF does not work in these situations.

  13. Convert Table to Form

Should be a simple way to tell InDesign (and later Acrobat) that a table is a form.

Column A are the Field names, column B are the blank fields. No field recognition necessary, just spreadsheet logic. Even a dialog where you define which rows/columns are what would be a huge boost.

Would save 3 headaches: 1) not knowing if Acrobat will recognize the fields, 2) renaming each field 1-by-1, and 3) setting the text formatting 1-by-1 (Acrobat can batch this but InDesign can't).

  15. Create an hyperlink to a "not specific" file or folder with a generic name like "AAA*.pdf"

To make an hyperlink to a “not specific” file or folder.
    For example:
In the reference folder I can have a file named “TIM 111.pdf” or “TIM 222.pdf”.
I would like to make a hyperlink like “TIM*.pdf” that opens the file that I have in the reference folder without specified the complete file name.

  16. Background Task Toggle on/off

The Background Task hangs when making a PDF. Add a toggle on/off of the Background Tasks to force a foreground PDF export. This has been an issue for many years and still isn't corrected!

  18. Add PDF Appearance hyperlink setting in the preference

I generate catalog automaticaly with PIM data, API... The issue i am facing is all my hyperlinks are coming with Visible rectangle in the hyperlink panel setting. When I do a PDF it keeps this rectangle and my users use only Acrobat reader without possibility to hide the rectangle.
How can I set this setting as "Invisible rectangle" by defaut in my document when the data is sent automaticaly in my Indesign document.

  20. Improve the time it takes to import to PDF in InDesign 2020

It takes up to 10 (ten) times as long to export to PDF in InDesign 2020 compared to InDesign 2019. These are files linked to graphics, not just text files.
