In the meanwhile may I suggest this workaround?
Just embed a single page with other publish online inside it. A “nested” publish online.
Could it be useful?

The fact that this still hasn't been addressed almost 3 years after it was asked isn't a great look

Yes, the publish online button is a distraction and leaves viewers frustrated. Also, Adobe products are already expensive enough for designers. All products made from Adobe software should be advertising free. That is what we pay for.

We've been using indesign to create digital publications now for a while and have recently had a client embed a presentation on their website this issue has now come to light. The problem is our client doesn't want Adobe advertising on their site and we can't remove the Adobe publish online button. The button also covers up some of the navigation in the publication. Can someone give us a work around please or an update as this is about to loose us a valuable piece of business all for the sake of a button that should be removable.

Absolutely agree with this. Not only do I agree with the comments of the original post, but it also undermines one's own brand.
I also note that the original post was published in August 2017. We're approaching two years. What's the problem? Any feedback, please?
