"Edit all export tags" panel: Checkbox to exclude classes in html
When editing an individual paragraph, character or object style, there is a very useful option to turn off the "include classes".
However, in the "Edit all export tags" panel, the option to turn off the "include classes" is absent. The "Edit all export tags" panel is already quite nice, this would be a very useful addition and save time otherwise spent opening and editing styles individually.
I am trying to move away from sending our journal articles to a vendor for conversion and towards exporting html directly from our journal articles with minimal cleanup. This would help me generate…

Add extra options to the "Add Bullets" panel, like search, resize, favourite, etc.
The "Add Bullets" panel is tiny and super limited. It should be possible to resize, search and even favourite your preferred glyphs to make the process much more efficient.

Auto-activate adobe fonts in book panel
It would be helpful if InDesign could auto-activate any Adobe Fonts used in individual documents when adding them to a book file in the Book Panel.
Currently InDesign displays a message warning about missing fonts/reflow etc and the only way to activate the fonts is to open each document in turn and go through the activation process separately for every document.
It would be helpful to have the option to have InDesign activate any of these missing fonts that are available on Adobe Fonts automatically when a document is added, or as a book-wide feature like syncing.

DIV STYLE Panel FOR EPUB/HTML
Using hundreds of anchored text boxes (with Object styles) within threads is time-consuming but necessary to provide <div> classes for css.
It would be MUCH quicker if there was an InDesign Div Styles panel where I could apply a class for css to a section that needs different styling between PDF and ePub/html versions. These sections often contain 5 different Paragraph Styles so I need to add some kind of wrapper.1 vote -
drag and drop .indd file into book panel
Whenever I add the .indd document to the book panel, I need to add each file via finder. At this time, if the target files are located in several different folders, I have to do several iterations. drag and drop features will reduce this repetitive work.

Make it easier to reorder and group pages.
Not that I want inDesign to be Keynote, but they're kicking butt in the page re-ordering department. I make presentations a lot in inDesign, and re-ordering, nesting and duplicating pages is a huge pain.
In Keynote you can move them around, group them, duplicate sections, nest them and a few other things, with no problem. inDesign's pages window is due for a reboot.13 votes -
Tags - Improve UX and UI for using Standard PDF Tags
Make the Standard PDF Tags available for quick, one-click import into the InDesign Tags Panel from the Tag Panel Menu. The UX/UI could be similar to importing common color libraries (e.g., Pantone Coated) into Illustrator Color Panel.
By "Standard PDF Tags" I mean https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/editing-document-structure-content-tags.html#standard_pdf_tags
Basically any UI that is quicker than manually adding all the Standard PDF Tags, exporting to XML, and then in the future having to remember where they are saved and importing. Also helpful when user frequently changes computers, temporarily doesn't have access to a shared network drive, etc.
Bonus Points
- Color Grouping: Preset the Standard…

InDesign Review Panel should NOT switch the filter to 'Resolved' when editing text with older resolved comments
I am often working on documents with multiple review sessions. The problem that occurs since the latest updates of InDesign is that as soon as I put the cursor in a piece of text which previously had a comment attached to it which is resolved, all resolved comments pop up in the comments panel and I cannot see the current comments: all comments are immediately filtered to 'resolved'. Of course I can switch off the filter for resolved comments again, but it switches back again to 'resolved comments' as soon as I start working on the text. This is driving…

Feature Request: Language-Aware Punctuation Correction in "Refine Your Text" (Generate Panel)
Hi Adobe InDesign Team,
I would like to request an enhancement to the "Refine Your Text" option available under the Generate panel (similar to the Rewrite feature).
Feature Request: Automatic Punctuation Correction Based on Script/Language
What I need:
When a paragraph is selected, I would like an option under "Refine Your Text" that:
1. First reads and analyzes the selected paragraph
2. Then intelligently applies correct punctuation — but based on the language/script of the text, not a universal ruleThe core problem:
Currently, punctuation correction tools apply English/Latin punctuation rules universally. This breaks Urdu, Arabic, and Persian text because…1 vote -
Layers Panel: Content auto-contract or stay expanded choice
I can't see that this is an option at present, but I get really fed up with constantly having to re-expand content layers and groups in the Layers Panel. They seem to auto-contract if I move from one document to another and back again. Is it not possible to have this feature as an option so that the user can select whether a documents layers remain expanded or not?

Article panel should help in showing items as ‘marked’
Like there is an option for xml structure to show colors of marked frames there should be a similar option for frames and stories that are already present in the article panel.
If MadeToTag can do it, Adobe should be able too.1 vote -
Create advanced graphs and charts inside Indesign
We really need a good and advanced tool for creating graphs and charts inside InDesign. A tool where we can edit what the X and Y axis contain and the ability to custom design of every part of the graph/chart. Maybe also make it work and link with illustrator, because the Illustrator graphs and charts tools REALLY needs updating. It's like these features have been completely neglected for years.

Empty Text Frames in Preflight Panel
It would be really nice if the Preflight Panel (or another tool) could detect text frames with no text in them and give the user an option to delete them. Empty text frames don't cause that many problems in print, but when you export to ePub, they often create some odd pagination and other errors. I think they usually happen because I bring in a new story and it kicks out 15 pages. Then I highlight the text and apply a style and the text shrinks to 12 pages, but leaves behind empty boxes. If I don't go back and…

Copy text from the Indesign Review panel, into my text in my Indesign file.
I work a lot with the review links, and I can copy text from the webbrowser review panel; but not from the review panel in Indesign itself. Which makes that If I need to copy a piece of text; written by my reviewers, to adjust in the copy of my file, I have to go to the web version of the link, copy there, go back to ID, find the piece of copy I want to adjust and paste it in there. Very time consuming work around.
Can this be fixed?

[ID-4258038] Change the Eyedropper Tool back to default on the tool bar instead of the Color Theme Tool.
The standard Eyedropper Tool used to be the default option on the Tool bar. This was convenient for sampling colors as well as text styles. Now, there is no way to change the default from the Color Theme Tool to the Eyedropper. The Color Theme Tool has its place in Illustrator, but as InDesign is mostly used for text, it is crucial that the Eyedropper Tool is quickly accessible. In my career, I have barely used the Color Theme Tool in InDesign, whereas I use the Eyedropper daily. It is frustrating for my coworkers and I to now change it…

Re-separating the tool menu
You combined the tool menu in the right panel, but now I have to scroll down to the align section every time I want to adjust something. In InDesign, I'm mostly creating forms or schedules where I realign things constantly. It was more convenient before. Either put align at the top of the panel, or re-separate the panel. I can't drag align to the top of it either. If I could even just reorganize it, it would be better.

Grep panel
Please create a palette for grep (like paragraph or character style). For example to add various style to single grep. Also add the option to link to grep non only character style, but also paragraph style and object style. Example: use a grep to find a text and formatting the text box. Thanks

Pages panel view toggles/select applied Masters
Would be great to have the ability to select and show only specific pages with specific masters. For example, I have a doc with 50 pages, in that doc I have a few master styles applied to different pages, and would be great to view in the panel schematic just pages that have A-Master applied, or both A- and B-Master, or maybe just view all pages that have C-Master applied. Would really help speed up workflow.
