Uncheck Shared Hyperlink Destination by default
In the panel 'New Hyperlink' the box 'Shared Hyperlink Destination' is by default checked. I always (must) uncheck it. Two questions: can I reset these default-settings somewhere. (I think not - but I'll like to do that). There is no possibility to put this check on/off under a shortcut. That should be nice for automation-purpose.

»Shared hyperlink destinations« seems to cause many problems. Please uncheck that box by default.
And when doing this, please change http:// to https:// (adding the s after the p). Also a very time consuming issue.

There really really needs to be a global setting to simply uncheck this by default. That should be the simplest, least intrusive and quickest solution. Also requires next to no additional upkeep from Adobe. Please get this implemented very soon!

I have the utmost hatred that is humanly possible for the shared hyperlinks feature. It has caused me countless lost hours of time on multiple projects because it breaks hyperlinks from one document to another if you copy paste your data into another file and then export to epub. The epub file does not retain any of the hyperlinks. I would love to send shared hyperlinks to the fiery pits of **** were it can be tortured endlessly because it's a terrible terrible feature that shouldn't be enabled by default.

I found this plugin that works very well, pro version will set you back 14 euros... but it works!!

This is very very annoying.... only after finishing several projects I noted that this checkbox resulted in ALL hyperlinks that I carefully made and checked were broken in my final products... what a mess...
I asked GPT4 to make a script to uncheck this checkbox, but it failed to do so, apparently the API does not expose the shared property for a hyperlink destination.WHY would Adobe force this feature the to ON?? I'm fine with having default settings, but at least allow me to edit the default settings! I cannot even think of a usecase where I want my hyperlinks NOT to be embedded in the file I'm working on...

@W Allen,
Your workaround does not works if you have mixed type of hyperlinks (Files, Mailto and URL)

1- Open HYPERLINKS window
2- Select all the hyperlinks you would like to UNCHECK their shared destination.
3- Double click on one of the hyperlinks you selected
4- When prompted, UNCHECK the shared destination box.
It will UNCHECK all that are selected.
Hope that helps.
