Add an option to rasterize chosen graphic objects on export (especially vectors)
Often we have to work with vectors, and often they take up a lot of space, which leads to the growth of the final PDF document and the slow rendering of the document in browsers. The trick with reducing transparency, when we make the selected frames 99% opaque and turn on the flattener, does not always give a good quality result and can cause stitching.
I suggest adding the option "rasterize" to the settings of the style of the graphic frame, so during the export the vector object is replaced with a raster copy. The quality settings for rasterization can be placed here, or taken on-the-fly from the export settings.

not the same but i have made preflight script in acrobat where every object becomes raster except text, attaching the same

This function would be very helpful for me. I am an architect working with documents that have multiple pages and complex vector graphic. Changing them to raster images is instantly reducing size of the exported pdf package. Currently only workaround is to change vector graphic to jpg using Photoshop before importing it to Indesign.

Adding my name to this too. Especially in in architecture, plans and other drawings are in layers / vectors and when exporting a site plan with over a million trees ( outlines ) the page takes almost a minute to load layer by layer. So far the solution had been to export to jpeg and use smallpdf.com to combine jpeg to pdf again.

Please, can we get some traction on this! Rasterizing at the selected resolution and scale (and cropping out non-visible artwork) would be SUCH a great start to reducing file sizes and workflow.

This is dissapointing - I thought it was going to be an answer to the EXACT problem I need solving, but alas, its a request for something that is absolutely needed! I have a vector heavy indesign document that I can not for the life of me get below 20MB (it is to go online and therefor needs to also be accessible). Every option I know for creating a small file-sized pdf also removes any accessibility features applied to the indesign document. I just want to export my pdfs with all my intense vector graphics as raster graphics. Please add this feature Indesign team!!!

Being able to rasterize chosen graphics on export would be fantastic, to preserve editability in linked graphics at the same time as offering a workflow for low-res comping or presentation.
Also like a (potentially simpler) checkbox to rasterize all linked graphics, or by type.

I would appreciate to have a checkbox in the PDF-Export for "Raster/No Raster Vector-Graphics" - based only on the linked filetype and its content! So there is no need to give each object in INDD the specific information.
