eyedropper
>>>I'm experiencing all sorts of odd behavior in INDD CC v.14.01, particularly when using the eye dropper to copy text attributes.
>>Things that happen: text will be given a stroke when the text that I'm copying has no stroke applied; text will go from Align Top to Align Bottom; random colors and sizes applied.

2-9% CPU usage when application is in background/minimized - happens on multiple computers
>>>2-9% CPU usage when application is in background/minimized. This happens on multiple computers. Older machines have seen up to 30% in IDLE. My newer PC runs 2-3% even with only one document open.
>>This is unsustainable both for PC resource use, energy efficiency, and usability.
>>There is no GOOD reason for this.
>>It has been an issue for multiple years now. Please fix!

formatting
>>>There NEEDS to be a way to keep formatting when copy/pasting. I need to keep formatting when copying text from .docx and pasting into indesign. This is a MUST! Us copy editors need this ability. Using textedit/notepad and copying from there doesn't work (that is the solution recommended to me by technical support). Please Please PLEASE fix this!

"Same" font sizes, but they're not
>>>In the most recent version of indesign, when I copy or duplicate a text box, the font size says it's the same, but it is about 2-3 points bigger. Even after eyedorpping the previous style, it doesn't change. I have to manually make a new text box, recreate the font details before copying and pasting it into the box.

Changing language setting of paragraph text causes turnovers to change
>>Indesign Version 16.1 Windows 10 Home 64-bit
>>Given some random body text, the default language setting was English: USA, if I want to change this to any other language like English: UK (for spell checking reasons) it causes the turnovers of certain paragraphs to change.
>>Different fonts do the same thing, I primarily tested on a non-type 1 version of Melior and Helvetica but also tried some Adobe Fonts. However, different language settings cause different bits of text to change their turnover, ergo English: USA has different turnovers to English: USA Legal.

Random missing text which does not affect the PDF output
>>Greetings,
…
> Please compare the two screenshots that I've posted. One is a shot from InDesign, and the other is a screenshot from the PDF output of the same text. As you can see there are some missing lines in when I look at the text in InDesign.
> Some notes:
> 1) It always happens with list items (bullet lists, numbered lists)
> 2) The random missing text parts changes as I change the magnification (zoom) level
> 3) It happens on all my documents
> 4) I haven’t changed anything recently. No InDesign updates, etc.

Persistent Cursor and Functionality Issues in Adobe InDesign After macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 Update
>>Description of the Issue:
>>I’m experiencing multiple issues with Adobe InDesign across different versions (including the latest and earlier releases) after updating to macOS Sequoia 15.1.1. These problems occur consistently across various files and significantly disrupt workflow.
>>Issues encountered:
>>Unable to apply colors from the swatch palette – clicking on a swatch does not work for either text or objects.
…
> Styles (both text and object) cannot be applied by clicking; I must use right-click and "Apply Style" instead.
> Frames on the page shift a few millimeters upon clicking, seemingly on their own.

Spacing text is different in InDesign 2021
>>>When opening a document in version 2021 which is created in 2020, the text looks exactly the same, but when you try to change the spacing of a word, the whole alinea is recreating a whole new spacing. Looks like it has something to do with metric, but it's really annoying. Spacing one word means re-spacing the whole alinea. Anyone else experienced the same?

History panel logs issues
>>The history panel does not allow some actions to be undone. One is the act of stepping back several steps. As long as no new actions are done, you can step forward again, but as soon as you complete a new action, the inbetween steps disappear. The undo/redo history is also cleared; only new actions completed after that point can be undone. This is a problem because is makes it impossible to test various options and then quickly return to the original option, as I have often done in the past. Instead, the desired option must be set up

Importing text styles from previous versions of InDesign cause a freeze
>>>When I try to import text styles from files I made just a couple weeks ago in August, InDesign immediately bogs down (slow mouse movement for 1 second), and then freezes.
>>I am able to successfully import text styles from InDesign files created with previous versions of InDesign (<14.0) when I install and run InDesign 13.1.1, but have been unsuccessful with v14.

>>Data Merge to PDF ignoring text variables in tag line
>>I posted the previous in Communities over 5 years ago on Sep 13, 2019 and it still hasn't been addressed.
>>Is there any reason that a file merged directly to a PDF (rather than to an Indesign file, then saved as a PDF) would refuse to parse text variables set in InDesign?
>>Document has text variables selected so that final will have a tag line with date and page count.

Crashes when font file is moved *every single time*
>>This will crash InDesign (and Illustrator and Photoshop) every single time without fail, all cc 2020 apps I've tested, specifically:
>>InDesign 15.0.2, Illustrator 24.1, Photoshop 21.1.2
>>I'm using OSX 10.15.3 Catalina
>>Try this:
>>–add a font to ~user/Library/Fonts/MyFontFolderName/ to install. Works with any font, but for example try Adobe's own wonderfully designed Source Serif Pro
…
> –make a new document in InDesign, set some text in that font, eg: Source Serif Pro-Regular, save document (or don't save, same result)
> –move the font file, eg: SourceSerifPro-Regular.otf to a sub folder, eg: ~user/Library/Fonts/MyFontFolderName/AnotherFolder/

If the two text boxes are connected, how does the footnote restart from ①
>>>I have a book that needs to be typeset that is single-column and contains footnotes, but the footnotes start at ① for each article.
>>I don't want to go through and break up each article. I'd like to typeset it in just one text box, but it seems like the footnotes can only be connected.
>>Is there any solution to this?
>>It would be nice if it could be split by "page breaks(~P)" or "frame breaks(~R)" or "column breaks(~M)".

Errors when using the Share for Review feature with highlight, strike-through and replace text.
>>I have the InDesign v. 18.0
…
> Everytime I use the Share for Review feature, no matter where I highlight, strike-through or replace the text, the place where I want to make the suggestion is never accurate. If I try to highlight a text, when I see it the InDesign program and click the review in the Review window, it just brings me to a different page. The highlighted text isn't even highlighted at all. Same with strike-through and replace text. Of course, I can see the comment within the Review window, but when I click it, it usually1 vote -
