Across platform seamless real-time collaboration
>>>I think this issues is raised with the co-auther note, but it's slightly ambigious what's meant. Therefor I'll just restate that an option to collaborate and work seamless across workstations in the same InDesign document would be very helpful. Something similar to the Office-package in this regard would be amazing, where you can see what and where the other collaborators are editing and in what sections. It's a hassle to have multiple copies and remember to copy every edit into a masterfile in the end.

Keyboard Shortcut Doesn't Work
>>>When assigning alternate shortcut keys to Edit/Copy (CTRL+INSERT) and Edit/Cut (SHIFT+DELETE), these keys don't function as expected. These keys were assigned in Default, Text, and Table contexts. CTRL+INSERT does nothing and SHIFT+DELETE removes text but does not put it in clipboard. This last one can cause data loss; I have do UNDO the removed text and then cut it using CTRL+X instead.

Text
>>>Wenn man verschiedenen Worten in einem Textblock (die eben nicht direkt hintereinander liegen) - zum Beispiel eine andere Schriftart oder Farbe zuweisen möchte, so muss man jedes Wort einzel mit dem Inhaltswerkzeug anwählen und dann das gewünschte Format vergeben. Toll wäre, wenn man (zum Beispiel mit der Shift-Taste) gleich mehrere Wörter oder Bereiche anwählen kann - das würde die Arbeit sehr erleichtern.

eyedropper
>>>Eyedropper not working in CC2018 (ME enabled). When I click a blank square then use eyedropper tool to copy color values from an existing vector graphic, the vector graphic container changes color instead. And while testing just now, if I draw two squares, one black one white, then select one to copy the color of the other, the selected square disappears. Text blocks fail to copy too and all eyedropper options are selected. This wasn't an issue with CC17.
>2 votesHi
There are two different issues mentioned here, and let me address them separately:
1. Clicking a blank square then using eyedropper tool to copy color values from an existing vector graphic, the vector graphic container changes color instead.
>>> Are you facing this problem with a specific vector graphic or with any graphic as I am unable to reproduce this issue with InDesign CC (13.0.1)? If possible, please share your indd file as a package with anasgupt@adobe.com and a small video demonstrating the issue will be really helpful.2. If I draw two squares, one black one white, then select one to copy the color of the other, the selected square disappears.
>>> With InDesign CC (13.0) the transform options have been added to the Eyedropper settings, this includes size and position. It seems that these options for you are checked and when you click on the square to… -
Using a variable font and exporting to PDF results in corrupted outlines in text
>>>When using a variable font in InDesign v17.0.1 and exporting to PDF, the resulting file contains text with corrupted outlines. '.notdef' boxes get inserted into some glyphs as can be seen in the attached PDF.
>>This error also occurs in Illustrator.
>>When exporting to PDF using a non-Adobe application, no errors are seen.
>>Errors occur only when using variable version of the font an not the static versions.
>>Additional information and test fonts have been sent in an email to Josh Hadley.

repeatedly opening a template in a loop eventually crashes at app.open
>>>Repeatedly opening and closing a template via extendscript code (for means of batch production) causes InDesign to crash at and only at app.open(PATH).
>>attached file is a bare bones jsx that opens/closes the accompanying blank template either 100000 times or until it crashes (which it has done within an hour each time I have run it)
>>Seems to crash anywhere from 40 to 1500 iterations in.

Text cursor not displayed in InCopy on MacOS 11 (Big Sur)
>>I know that InDesign 2020 (15.1.2) and InCopy 2020 (15.1.2) are not and will not be supported on Mac OS 11 (Big Sur), but nevertheless we are doing some testing because. Our customers may upgrade their Mac or buy a new one with MacOS 11 installed and expect that everything works as before.

Find Font bug when multiple fonts begin with same name
>>>When a document contains multiple fonts with same family names (e.g. Arial and Arial Hebrew), the search font dialog box only makes available one of the fonts (e.g. if I want to search Arial, even if I select Arial in the available fonts in the search dialog box, the Search Font line will automatically show Arial hebrew so i can't just find Arial. I also have the same problems with multiple Helvetica Family fonts.

Background Task Animation Error
>>>Adobe InDesign CC 2018 13.1 (latest version)

> Expected result: When a Background Task is being run, the animated progress bar to rise and fall (ex. 0,1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1,0,1...)
> Actual result: When a Background Task is being run, the animated progress bar rises and falls incorrectly (ex. 0,1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,0,1,1,2...)>I notice this a lot since I am exporting multiple PDFs a day. As soon as each is done, I need to copy them to send via emails/upload to other servers/etc.
>8 votesBackground Task Animated Icon has been changed in the recent version of InDesign. It is now shown as a rotating cursor (instead of the stacked cards/hamburger type icon in previous versions).

Shared document on server crashing upon opening
>>>I am working with colleagues on a file stored on a shared server. When they try to work on a document that I have worked on (documents that I have changed, not just created), InDesign crashes upon trying to open the file. If they then try to restart InDesign it continues to crash upon starting until they restart their computer. We have both tried updating InDesign and it is still occurring. Thanks!
