Character style changing while using grep
Hi Support,
I had a issue while using GREP, While replacing the manual bulleted paragraph to bullet styled paragraph,
I have used the below:
Find What:
^ ·\t(.+)$
Change to:
$1
Change Format:
Bullet_Txt (paragraph style)
Required Action:
Need to implement the paragraph style at the as-well-as eliminate the bullet with tab.
When I replace by option "change" one by one all the instances change clearly
While using "change All" option, the initial letter of roman word followed by italic word changes to italics vice versa.

Tagged Text file import randomly places URLs throughout text
I can't import an InDesign Tagged Text file without getting randomly inserted footnote URLs placed throughout the text and all footnote links being broken.
Since I'm working on a book and have hundreds of footnotes, I thought AITT would be my best option for backing up and recovering chapter text.

Publish Online Does not work if you have Allow Download (Print) chosen.
Publish Online will get stuck at 98% if you choose the option to allow for download (Print). Even if you go to the Advanced tab and change the PDF settings, it still will not work.

Table of Contents running heads
The Table of Contents should have an option to include just the running head portion of a paragraph, often in a bold style in my documents. Otherwise one has to manually strip out all the text that follows after a running head in the Table of Contents.

Where has Package gone?
Shift Option Command P was not working, so I went to File: Package, and it's gone. I have restarted InDesign, restarted my computer, as well as tossed my preferences. I am using InDesign 15.1.1 on OS 10.14.6. Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

scrubby zoom will not turn off
Scrubby/Animated zoom suddenly appeared when I opened Indesign today and I cannot not turn off. The option is no longer in the Preferences (I searched all categories). I have installed no updates recently.

In Indesign, the fx effects on text is not available. It does not com up as an option, and when I find it under Window, it is not available to use.
I have tried Essentials and Typography and other working space without better results.1 vote -
Outlining Texts when grouped
For exporting print PDFs i often have to convert all texts into paths. That does not work if a Text is grouped with any objekt.

Page Size Changes- Sometimes don't work, sometimes bug, InDesign is as confused as I am.
I'm using InDesign 2021. I have been using the option at the bottom the Pages window ("edit page size") to change the size of my document from US Letter to A4 as I offer both sizes of printables in my shop. I noticed tonight that this sizing is being buggy. I went to change my Letter size doc to an A4 size, but A4 was already checked. The rulers confirmed my doc was in Letter. 2021 InDesign cannot package a book
InDesign cannot package a book
When trying to package a book of multiple files. 2021 InDesign gives this error message:
" InDesign could not package the book "XXXX". Failed to crate PDF. Try exporting the file using Export Book to PDF menu option in book panel's flyout menu to view errors. "
I have tried what it suggest and other ways to package... Same Message! HELP!!1 vote -

When clicking (in a PDF make with the exportation option in indesign) to a link that point in the creation of a new email (link created in Indesign), the @ is replace by %, ans all the spaces in the mail title are also replace by %1 vote -
pdf exports to new indd file
When exporting (interactif or print) to pdf and selecting the option "view pdf after exporting", a new Indd file is created with an editable pdf in it. We can delete the file, but not the pdf (because in use by INDD??) On win 10 and in indesign 2026

Applying the Brush to the Arc Only
When we apply a brush, it applies it to the entire angled circle. When we draw an angular circle, can we add the option to apply brushes only to the arc? The color of the straight lines should be "none" so that the circle is not distorted.

Shortcut for High Quality Display does something else
Up until Indesign CC 2020, when pressing "ctrl option command h" my document would switch to high res view. Since 16.0 it hides all other Programs of macOS (10.15.7) instead. When using the mouse it still works. Why is that, and how can I get the functionality back?

Go back to old method of "space after" paragraphs
I'm fine with the concept of allowing users to adjust the "spacing between paragraphs using same style." But the way this feature was added doesn't make sense: I think you should have left the old "space after" system the way it was, and allowed users to add the "spacing between paragraphs using same style" box as an extra option. The way you set it up (unless I'm misunderstanding something), anyone wanting to put spacing between paragraphs now has to enter data into two boxes, whether they want certain sections to have custom spacing or not. Holding Alt to zoom causes menu issues
I'm surprised this hasn't been fixed since it's been an issue for an incredibly long time on Windows machines. Please add an option to zoom when scrolling without the need to hold the alt key. It causes navigation issues with the InDesign menu making navigation extremely clunky.

spelling e.g
- InDesign 15.0.1 x64 (for Windows 10)
- Check spelling in document. When InDesign comes to the term "e.g." it highlights "e.g" as misspelled. The dictionary includes "e.g." as one of the suggested corrections. If I select that option and use "change," InDesign will correct the term to "e.g.." and then will immediately rehighlight "e.g" as a misspelling.
- Since it already includes e.g. as an option within the dictionary, it should not flag that as a misspelling.
- InDesign does not include the final period as part of the term, and so it consistently flags that term as misspelled.

Object Display Performance
With an object selected, selecting Object/Display Peroformance/ no matter what setting, nothing happens since the 2018 update. It only works if I use the option in the view menu for the entire document or go to preferences and change the default for Typical to high

Caption: File Extension Bug
Added live captions to images – it sometimes create strange file extensions for PNG Images, which I cannot control or delete.
(It also would be nice, if there was an option to remove the file extension)Expected Result for live caption: "Image-Name.png"
