reverse layout crash
>>>InDesign CC14.0.1 ME always crashes when using the Reverse Layout option if you click on "yes" when the message "The publication contains frame linked between pages. Would you like to break the link?"

To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2023(v18.2.1.455) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

> Hard returns only (soft returns converted)16 votesHi,
Thanks for your patience all this while. We investigated on this issue and below are our findings. The problem with this bug is related to ages old standards difference between different operating systems.
On Mac (OS X and later) there is only one way to identify line end i.e by using a single character LF, while on Windows (and DOS before it) uses a pair of CR and LF characters to terminate lines.
Hence when writing them down to any text file these characters are written as such.
Windows, can therefore dedicate LF to understand soft return separately while Mac cannot do any
such thing. Because of this when we read it back from the text file the LF character is interpreted as line break (or new para) on Mac and soft return on Windows. These files require conversion when moved from one OS to another

Text box disappears, styling not displayed in real time
>>>I am using the latest Indesign update for M1, 16.3.2 (Big Sur 11.4)
>
> I am now having problems where the text box that I am styling disappears. I either have to zoom in or out, flip pages, or now go as far as closing the file and opening it, because Indesign is either not displaying the changes made, or the text disappears. Placing a cursor within text is also not accurate, and either a character to the left or right.

Text in placed Illustrator object extends out of frame in PDF
>>I have a map done in Illustrator, saved as an .ai file. This has been placed into InDesign and slightly cropped so that one of the text labels is cut off. When I export this to PDF, the complete line of text shows on the page, extending out past the edge of the frame. The line and shape objects are cropped to the frame though.
>>The attached PDF shows screenshots illustrating this.

Everything is delayed and slow when I reopen, so I save, close Indesign and re-open. I get a good 5-10 minute run and it crashes again. Crashed 10 times today.

Create outlines in a document with conditional text crashes
>>>I have four InDesign templates created, two use conditional text while the other two do not. I have no problem creating outlines of the document without the conditional text. Justifying frame or change leading causes text to change
>>>This is happening from time to time. The hyphenation of the word inside the red stroke is removed simply by setting the text frame vertical justfication to 'Justify' or by changing the leading of the paragraph. These modifications should not mess with the text and hyphenation. When this happens, in certain circumstances, it changes the number of lines of the paragraph (see prints), causing the whole story to reflow.

text wrap detect edges

> Text wrap w/detect edges may not detect text in AI file, may not detect shapes well. Have AI file with graphic and text placed in anchored frame in ID doc. If set to wrap around shape, detect edges, text in ID doc runs through text in AI graphic. Also (noted in in forums ) text may not wrap around white or nearly white shapes in AI graphic.1 voteThanks for reporting the issue.
Is this an issue only in the latest/recent release? What was the experience in older versions of InDesign?Adobe InDesign team

ID will crash on awake (MacOS)
>>>Adobe InDesign, for the last two, three versions (current 16.2.1), will crash 100% of the time when the Mac comes back from sleep mode. I'm running MacOS 10.15.7 on two separate Macs (iMac 2020 and an over Mac Book Pro), both with plenty or RAM, and this will happen 100% of the time on both systems. I've reported this several times but when you issue a new update to "fix bugs" this one persists.
