1. CC'15-'17 All hyperlinks missing/removed after round trip with InCopy editors

   I am a designer and build corporate white papers anywhere from 35-100+ pages in length. We use the layout InCopy workflow with one assignment and all stories exported under that. After I import and design/format all content including hyperlinks, I then save for the editors for use in InCopy. They then do their work, and save for me, standard. Upon opening, all the hyperlinks are missing with a "red flag" denoting the ref. is missing . Oddly enough, for the past two documents we made, you could still export to PDF with the links functioning, this despite all the missing URL info in the hyperlinks panel. It seems embedded but not recognized. Sometimes you can right click on a link in the ID layout and it will also "go to destination," but the info is not present in the hyperlinks panel. Because the functionality was there for us, we ignored the hyperlinks panel for 2 major docs. With the latest document, the same thing happened, only this time we lost functionality too, which brought me here looking for answers. Hope this gets fixed, as I had to manually input 100+ links to finalize our document today! A couple variables: Our InCopy users are on PCs, where I am on a Mac. We also use 'Box' for file sync, primary stations are designer in the US and editors in Dublin.

2. Export from book file default to wrong filetype

   CC 2017 12.0.0.81
   Using the regular export menu, export an interactive PDF. That becomes the default. But now I want to export a Print PDF from the book panel, it keeps defaulting back to interactive PDF. So to make its I don't have to remember to choose Print PDF (for every single export), I have to first export a random Print PDF using the regular export menu, just to switch the default in the Export Selected files to PDF option.

   The two export locations: File > Export and using the flight from the Book panel, shouldn't be tied together. They should have their own defaults.

3. create new document dialog

   When I clicked create new documents button the new dialog not shown and no templates available like photoshop or illustrator and only show the old new document dialog and when I checked my preferences I could not find Use legacy option check box at all in General Tab

   Are you on Japanese or MENA feature set of InDesign?
   Japanese feature set – Japanese, Korean, Chinese (zh_CN and zh_TW)
   MENA feature set – Arabic, Hebrew, French (Morocco)

   Currently we have the new “Create new document” dialog only for the Roman feature set.
   We have however have working to get the new “Create new document” for Japanese and MENA feature sets as well with the upcoming CC 2018.0 release.
   You can test and try the new “Create new document” for MENA feature set in the Beta build posted on the InDesign Pre-Release program. Follow the below link for joining InDesign Pre-Release program and getting access to the Beta build of InDesign.

4. grey box under workspace tab

   I have a grey dialog box that appears under the workspace selection tab, and Im not sure how to make it go away. There is now dialogue in the box ever. Thanks everyone!

5. Highlighting or Changing Text

   I’m experiencing an issue when highlighting text to delete it, changing the case, or switching fonts. The entire text, including the text above (on the same page), disappears. If I scroll up and then back down, I can make it reappear.

6. Find/Change saved queries lose numeric precision for indent values

   Version:
   Adobe InDesign 21.0.2
   macOS 26.2
   Issue also observed in much earlier versions (since CS5.5).
   Steps to reproduce:
   Create a document with paragraph units set to millimeters.
   Create a paragraph with a left indent of exactly 5 mm.
   Open Find/Change.
   In Find Text, set Left Indent to 5 mm by typing it manually.
   Run Find – the paragraph is found.
   Save this Find/Change query.
   Reload the saved query.
   Run Find again.
   Expected result:
   The saved query should find the same paragraphs as when the value is entered manually.
   Actual result:
   After reloading the saved query, the paragraph is not found.
   Additional details:
   Via the scripting API the difference can be observed.
   Manual entry via UI:
   app.findTextPreferences.leftIndent = 14.1732283464567
   After reloading saved query:
   app.findTextPreferences.leftIndent = 14.17322834
   The reduced numeric precision causes the query to fail.
   This appears to be a precision loss when persisting Find/Change query settings.
   The issue affects both UI and scripting workflows.
   Using paragraph or character styles does not prevent this issue, as it is related to how numeric values are stored and restored in saved queries.

   Version:
   Adobe InDesign 21.0.2
   macOS 26.2

7. [ID-4273263]With application frame "OFF", and multiple documents open InDesign 26 will resize them when switching between

   Before upgrading, I used to be able to have multipe .indd docs open next to a spreadsheet on my screen, now they automatically change size when I switch between them, seemingly "remembering" the state they were last resized to.

8. [ID-4273319] InDesign 2026 shows Damaged document when opening previous version documents from Synology NAS

   InDesign 2026 says that my documents are damaged.
   All documents that are on my Synology NAS. Connected via SMB3.
   (InDesign 2025 works fine.)

   If I quit and restart InDesign 2026 - I can open one file once. Alla files after that is "damaged".
   New file created with InDesign 2026 and saved on NAS works.
   Looks like the issue is with documents from previous version that opens as "converted".
   Only happens on NAS. Not on local files.

   Workaround: Copy indd file to your local drive, open, save and upload back to its original location

   Mac OS Tahoe.
   MacBook Pro M1 Max.

9. Tagged PDF: contoured text twice in the tagged pdf

   If you give a text a contour and export it as tagged pdf, all glyphs with a contour appear twice in the tags tree.
   The text should only appear once.

   This happens with all InDesign version till 2026 (21).

10. GenAI Image location

    GenAI Images are automatically saved to the User's iCloud Documents folder. This causes a major issue if projects are shared with other users in that the GenAI Images may not get copied across, resulting in broken links.
    Another issue this creates is that if the User's iCloud storage is full, new images will not be created.
    There needs to be an option, either in the Preferences or the Links panel, for users to select where GenAI Images are stored.
    Please implement this.

11. Character style applied to Table of Contents header

    When creating a book's table of contents (TOC), if you apply a character style to the first chapter, that style is applied to the TOC entry but it's also wrongly applied to the TOC header as well. It seems to be taking whatever character style that's applied to the first letter in the first chapter.

    I have a sample file I can send.
    Tested in InDesign 2024 and 2022 for Mac.

12. Selection Tool Doesn't Allow Dragging to Move After Windows Update

    Using InDesign 20.1 x64 on Windows 11. After the recent Windows security update (KB5051987), the Selection Tool no longer allows dragging to move elements on a second monitor. It could be related to the fact the monitors are not the same size and do not have the same UI scaling. It functions properly on my laptop screen but I normally work from my larger 2nd monitor and it is no longer functioning properly there. The Free Transform tool still works.

13. Type contextual control interferes with type input

    When the option in Preferences > Advanced Type for “Type Contextual Controls > Show for Character Alternates, Fractions, Ordinals and Ligatures” is active you have to hit a key twice to replace a selected glyph if alternates are shown. Please see attached screen capture.

    To get rid of this behavior you have to disable the option in the Preferences.

14. Cant move objects on second monitor

    Cant move objects on second monitor
    So i use a laptop usually and things are normally fine. however for some reason now all objects on my second monitor is not moveable. i can click on the object and when i attempt to move it theres a red circle icon. if i move the indesign window to my main screen everything is moveable and the problem only happens on the 2nd monitor. I've tried reseting preferences, nothing is locked.
    I am using the latest version of indesgn

15. Indesign 2025 slowness

    This InDesign 2025 version is ridiculously slow. Change of Type tool to Selection tools it is taking 5 seconds or any other tool. Any single letter for correction 5 seconds. Selection of any item, 5 seconds. Anything one does is not less than 5-7 seconds in all. This is nonsense problems. The cursor should move FREELY and instantly.

16. data merge images

    InDesign 20.0.1 on MaxOS 15.1.1 (24B91), the Data merge for images does not work. There are no errors or warmings, but upon previewing, exporting or merging the images to not populate. The same data file and downsaved indd file (ver 19) works.

17. [ID-4256362]Cannot drag and drop InDesign files into InDesign

    With no open files in InDesign, I cannot drag and drop an InDesign file from Explorer into InDesign. Double-clicking an InDesign file does work. Selecting multiple InDesign files in Explorer and then pressing the Enter key does work whether InDesign is running or not.

    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2025(v20.0.1.032). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application click on the context menu on the top right, and click on Check for App Updates.

18. [ID-4253057]Autonumbering in Hide Spreads is not working for Text Variables -> Insert Variable -> Last Page Number

    Text variable "Last page number" does not update with Hide Spread.

    With the newest update hiding spreads works automatically updates the pagination. This does not however change the "Last page number" variable. I often use this for screen presentations to display page X/X.

    This seems like a simple oversight in the update, but would be nice to have fixed.

19. InDesign 20.0. Randomly crashes (haven't had this problem before). Could be a few minutes after opening the program or working on a file

    InDesign 20.0 on iMac. Randomly crashes (haven't had this problem with any previous versions). Could be a few minutes after opening the program or while working on a file. Very random but too often. I reset preferences, ran disk utility, et al.

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )

    Also, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?
    • Video recording of the crash
