2. Interactive PDF fields won’t allow me to enter any text into them when reported from Indd.

   Mac OS 10.13.6 | Indesign CC 13.1 | Acrobat Pro DC 2018.011.20063

   When I create a file in InDesign with text fields for an interactive PDF and export it as interactive PDF I get a PDF with blank fields and the fields won’t allow me to enter any text into them.

3. InDesign highlighted text sometimes has blanks in attribute sizes, & increase/decrease doesn't respond to blanks.

   After we highlight text, InDesign many times shows blanks in some of the attribute sizes. Sometimes with highlighted text all the sizes do show, but often with highlighted text the sizes are blank for some of the attributes we want to adjust. I can't figure out how to avoid this. Many, many times, highlighted text shows blanks. It's a regular occurrence. Further, with the blanks, the increase/decrease tabs (the small up/down arrows) don't work. This causes a big waste of time, repeatedly, as we highlight text. So we have to un-highlight the text. Look back at the attribute size, remember it, re-click to get the text curser, re-highlight the text, then click on the attribute number, type in a number to adjust, then we can use the up/down arrows, finally, to make the adjustment. InDesign has a major waste of time built right into its text highlight process.

4. Importing Excel unformatted table text-based formulas import as "-1"

   1. Indesign 17.4

   2. steps to reproduce:
      a) In Microsoft Excel (for Mac version 16.63.1), in cell A1 add "Some text"
      b) in cell B1 add formula "=A1"
      c) save excel document .xlsx
      d) Import into indesign as Unformatted Table

   3. expected result: table cell A2 contents should be "Some text", same as A1

   4. Actual result: table cell A2 contents is "-1"

5. Cannot enter text size if document is on second display

   When using 2 displays, if the document is not on the same page as the menu bar, typing a new text size in the text-size field does not work. Moving the document to the same page as the application frame makes the bug go away.

6. will not find/change text in locked boxes. why is there an option to find/changed locked text if it does not work?

   My idea is if you have a feature in the find/change panel that ostensibly allows you to find and change text in locked layers or boxes....that it should work to change the text! Trying to change locked section heds, but the feature won't find and change them unless they are unlocked. Which. IS. Not. Helpful.

7. Bug: copying text set to French between documents changes language

   Windows 11, Indesign 20.1
   Problem description: I have six documents, two in German, two in English, two in French. In all six is a paragraph with the same name, but the language setting is according to the document language. Means, the style is set to French (for spelling checker) in the french documents. When copying text by copy & paste from one french document to the others, the language setting of that text in the target document changes to German. This doesn't happen when copying english text from an english document to the other english document, same with the german ones.

8. Pressing letter "2" changes text layout / format, but only in one document

   Pressing letter "2" changes text layout / format, but only in one document

   Hi, I've had this issue with one InDesign file. Whenever I press letter "2", text formatting in that paragraph changes, and the letter "2" won't appear. Copy+paste works, but that should not be the answer. This problem occurs only in this one document (and been here over several version updates), so I assume it might be some sort of quick key setting, and I don't know how or where to fix it (already searched through quick key listing). Please help?

9. "Add all stories to assignment" doesn't include content of anchored text boxes

   1) I'm using InDesign CC 2019 (14.0.2) under MacOS 10.14.6.
   2) - Open an INDD document with various text boxes
   - Execute Edit -> InCopy -> Add All Stories to Assignment
   3) I would expect this command to include also the content of text boxes that are anchored to other text boxes.
   4) However, it doesn't. The content of such text boxes is missing. However, when I go through the document and release all anchored text boxes before executing the command, it will work properly
   5) I'd love to attach an indd or idml test file but these file types are not allowed here (I wonder what file type is supposed to act as a test file then??). Since furthermore there's only 1 file allowed to be attached (...?!?!?) I can only attach 1 screenshot of the result of executing the command while the text box "Quick Tip" is still anchored: It is not added to the selection. After releasing it, it will be added correctly when executing the command again

10. Anchor a group of texts in a text

    I use Indesign 19.1. I have a group of texts that I need to anchor in the main text frame. As there is no anchor point on my group, I try to cut it and paste it where I need it to be anchored. I place my cursor where it should be, and paste, but nothing happens. So, I tried the same manipulation in Indesign 18.1 and it works. Can you tell me why it doesn't work anymore, and how can I anchor my group of texts. Is there another way?

11. World-Ready Composer Breaks Text Variables on Export to Fixed Layout ePub Format

    If one inserts a current page number marker or a text variable on a master page and the paragraph style of that text specifies Adobe World-Ready Composer in Justification, when exported to fixed layout ePub, the page number or text variable will not print. This bug is present in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 and possibly earlier versions (haven't checked).

12. Text options greyed out when I select more than one box that are linked.

    Text options greyed out when I select more than one box that are linked using selection tool. For example I want to select 3 linked text boxes and change the text colour. The [T] button in the colours panel is greyed out. So is font, etc. Means that I have go into each box and select the text requires extra click. Did not use to be this way in CC2019. Please fix.

13. Text variables consistently break export to fixed epub, resulting in crash.

    When there are multiple text variables (say in a running foot, or TOC) the export to fixed epub causes InDesign to crash. When the variables are resolved to actual text, the export works fine. I tried this in InDesign 14.0.2 and also in the Beta Build (14.0.3.407) with the same (crash) result.

14. vertical alignment within a text box is ignoring the space taken up by a wrap object

    I'm on Adobe InDesign 20.3.1 on an M1 Max MacBook Pro currently running Sequoia 15.5, but I always keep my system and apps up to date within a day or two of an update being released.

    The text wrap isn't affecting the vertical centering of text box content in the way it should. The vertical alignment within the text box seems to be ignoring the space taken up by the wrapped object, leading to the content being centered within the entire text box rather than just the available space above the wrapped object.
    In the screenshot, you can see that the text box that overlaps with the wrapping object is centering to the entirety of the text box. A 2nd text box on the left is shortened to show where it SHOULD be aligning to. The warping object is on top of the text box, and the text box does not have "Ignore Text Wrap" checked. Any ideas on a fix?

15. ID incorrectly enables Overprint when converting a text to paths

    This bug has been reproduced in Indesign 15.0 and 18.5. MacOS Sonoma.

    When you convert a BLACK text to outline, Overprint Fill is automatically enabled in the Attributes panel. The ‘Overprint’ selection remains applied even if you change the colour of this object.

    I've just had a print advert blown out of the water by my client because half of his logo had disappeared. It was blue and was overprinted even though I hadn't set anything like that.

    It came about in the way described above: a text was converted into paths, the resulting logo was recoloured in blue - but it remained an object for Indesign to print over.

16. Major lagging/hanging when typing text and selecting objects

    InDesign 14.0.1; Windows 10

    I was experiencing some major lag when typing text, up to 30 seconds. Even when text started to appear, words would appear only one letter at a time with significant delay in between. The problem then expanded to selecting and moving objects around on a page. InDesign for me has been unusable for the past few hours (Jan. 25, 2019 from 1:30 - 4:30pm EST). I even tried reverting back to version 14.0 and had no luck. Rebooted several times. I then went into my system restore and saw that earlier today a Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable update was installed. I restored my computer to the state it was in prior to this event, since everything was working for me before, and voila. Seems to be working again as expected.

    Not sure the update was, in fact, the culprit, but figured I'd mention it here to help others or to help with a future fix. :)

17. Indents not holding after page break

    1. InDesign CC 2018, though I logged this bug for 2017 as well. It may also have existed as far back as CS6. I had hoped it would be fixed in this release.
    2. Create a paragraph style that has a left indent and set text in that paragraph style. Set enough text to flow onto a second page.
    3. The text should retain the left indent after the page break.
    4. Sometimes, the first line of text after the page break does not retain the indent.

    Hello All,

    The fix for this issue is now available in InDesign’s latest version, id 14.0.3.
    Please update your InDesign to try out the fix.

    Note:
    If you open a file which already has this issue, in the new version, you may continue to see the issue.
    To resolve such cases, you may SAVE AS the file or do a force text re-composition as the workaround

    However, all the new files created in the new version will not have this issue anymore.

18. Text box (&photoBox) LAG & MOVE after clicking / editing

    When clicking on TXT box indesign freezes for about 1s then it's moving text box ON ITS OWN by few pixels (please take a look at video: 1-2s, 12-14s, 22-24s) like how is this happening??? It doesn't matter if the document is big or small, new or old - I've tried all options it's doing it every single time!!! I can't work since it;s driving me crazy FIX IT ASAP:

    INFO: Adobe InDesign v19.2, MacOS: 14.3 (23D56), MacBook Pro 16" m1 PRO, 32Gb RAM

    Additional info:
    1. tried on multiple documents all have the same poblem
    2. new document with one txt box and some copy also have the same problem after clicking
    3. tried almost everything to get rid of that stutter and txt/photo boxes moving by thier own but nothing works and trust me I'm advanced user when it comes to software

    I bought #288977103 and when I try to use any other language than US English, the text box is coloured with bright colour. Why?

20. When Find/Change Dialog Box is open, arrow keys move entire text box instead of cursor

    1. Indesign 16.3.2 on macOs Mojave
    2. When i find a word using find/change it gets highlighted. I try to add a punctuation mark after that word and tab the right arrow key.
    3. Arrow key should just move the cursor in text box, next to the highlighted text.
    4. It moves entire text box as if the text box is selected.
