1. InDesign 14.1

   Opening InDesign just by itself makes it freeze completely. Ball of death (on Mac) .
   It asks me if I want to start automatic recovery however I can't click on any of the options because the ball of death doesn't let me. The window with the recovery message consequently shows up on top of any other screen.

   I could make InDesign work ONCE yesterday after restarting and today it completely crashes again. Unfortunately it also means one of my files is now stuck 'open' which is untimely.
   This is the latest verstion both of InDesign as well as Mac OS.

   Aaand while at it my Adobe Creative Cloud is being an absolute nightmare logging me out a lot and when I enter my log in details and confirm it thinks about it and says - you have been logged out. Takes me several attempts to make it work.

   Any help would be appreciated.

   To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

   We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

   If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

3. tiff transparency

   Transparency of TIFF files does not work in InDesgin. The same files worked well in Windows, Photoshop. I have to get around by batch transform TIFFs into PNGs in order to save the transparency. Please fix it.

   The attachment is one of my TIFF files that doesn't work with InDesign only.

5. CC19 14.0.1 ISSUES

   Running Indesign CC2019 14.0.1 on a MACBOOK PRO running Mojave - currently having a number of unexpected outcomes - spacebar unable to use to navigate page - SHIFT unable to proportion constrain and ALT unable to drag copy items.

8. Data Merge Preview drops Paragraph Styles with Nested Styles

   Suppose you want to merge data, and format it with nested styles. For example, you want one word to be red, and the other blue. If the cell is empty, remove the line.

   This works as intended until you 'Preview' the document. When you view a record without data, then move to the next, the paragraph style is lost entirely!

   For example, I use this technique to merge many restaurant menus for many locations. A food item is regular up to a '$'. Then the price is italicized. Some locations don't offer this item. If I were to Preview one location's menu, then turn off Preview, and forget to reapply the style, then everyone's menu is effected.

   To illustrate, I've attached a super simple example. When you open the doc, the paragraph style is applied to the middle line. Turn on preview, and click [>] to the 3rd record. You see the paragraph style disappear all together.

9. Hi, I am using indesign CC 2018. When formatting text as a numbered list, the number is not displayed until I start typing.

   When I hit enter on the numbered text box, I want to see the number I'm about to start entering information for. If I don't see the number, my brain can't move forward onto the next idea.

10. Powerpoint document links don't work in Adobe Publish

    When I create a button that links to a Powerpoint document stored on my company OneDrive and publish via Adobe Publish online, the link brings up a black tab once clicked. The buttons work fine for any other document type, such as a PDF, but not with Powerpoint.

11. InDesign Export PDF - Misisng font style (i.e., italic, bold, tiny text changed)

    Dear InDesign Folks,

    We've found some font style attribute changed in PDF file, another one issue is Ligature text missed out at PDF file.

    Application: InDesign CC 2015.0 Version 11.0.
    Windows: 7 & 10 Pro

    Steps & Process:
    1. We are generating 2 set of PDF with different Job-options.

    1. PAP Layer enabled PDF (i.e., particular layer enabled and creating the PDF, it's contains Images and Text like water mark).

    2. PRINT Layer disabled PDF (i.e., disabled the layer which we enabled in step 2).

    3. Using JavaScript generating 2 sets of PDF at a time.

    4. PRINT, disabled layer and generating PDF with particular InDesign Export Job-options.

    5. PAP, enabled layer and generating PDF with particular InDesign Export Job-options.

    PAP PDF file showing the font style in automatically changed in (Bold or Italic and Size looks tiny).

    PRINT PDF file we didn't face any issues.

    Can anyone suggest how to sort out this issue in forthcoming days.

    Ligature text missing we faced first time this issue, I searched the bug forum, it's already shared the issue.

13. Text Form Fields do not export with inDesign CC 2018 14.0

    Form Fields do not export at all in the PDF when exported in the current version of inDesign. I am using the same exact settings as I did before I updated, and links DO work. Form fields just do not appear.

    To recreate:
    1) Make boxes where fields are required (in this case, on its own layer, which is visible and active)
    2) Using the Buttons and Forms panel, convert them to text boxes
    3) Export to PDF, making sure that the boxes for exporting interactive elements are checked, and the dropdown says to include appearance

    Resulting PDF does not have text fields.

    It looks like you are exporting to a Print PDF.
    For the Form Fields to work, you should choose Adobe PDF (Interactive) Format instead.

14. Pasting Chinese text from illustrator to Indesign changes the content of the text. Help!

    I have text in Illustrator that are in Chinese, using 苹方-简 typeface. When I copy and paste the same text into Indesign, the text changes into new characters.

    I know you need to expand the characters to use as vectors, but sometimes we need to change the text and go back and forth before finalizing. The question is why does it not do that for english text? I copy and paste between illustrator and indesign all the time, but this is the first time I've come across changing the text content completely.

    Running CC 2019 for all.

17. Library objects jump when being dragged onto the page

    In InDesign CC 14.0.1 objects dragged from a library jump from the designated location to the pasteboard at the top of the spread. They can be repositioned easily enough by dragging but it takes extra time.

18. InDesign hangs while exporting InDesign document as IDML

    Every time I try to save or export my InDesign document to idml it never finishes. It immediately goes to 27%, and then it never progresses.

19. PageMaker import doesn't work.

    InDesign is supposed to import PageMaker 6.5 documents. Adobe gives instructions for it here: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/converting-quarkxpress-pagemaker-documents.html#convert_pagemaker_documents

    This doesn't work. Not only are p65 files not recognized as loadable by default, but attempting to load them forcibly results in an error message from InDesign.

20. Assets renamed in web view of CC Libraries don't retain name when imported into document

    I've been creating some CC Libraries with quite a few logo assets and have found it easier to do the renaming of the files in web view because it lets me copy/paste a file name, whereas the CC Libraries panel does not.

    I've just come across the issue that even though the names appear to have synced when I view the files in the Libraries panel, when I drag/drop or right-click > Place a file into my actual document, the name disappears from the asset in the Links panel. It defaults to whatever it was when i created the asset (usually Artwork 1). The only way to fix it is to rename it again inside the CC Libraries panel, which I was trying to avoid.
