2. PDF export name

   Since the latest updated InDesign doesn't remember the the export name, it just reverts back to the indd's file name. It was super useful when using version numbers.

   For example, when exporting from "file.indd" a "file-print (5).pdf", it remembered that name. Now it just goes back to "file.pdf" each time.

   Using 14.0.2 x64 on Windows 10.

3. Can't add uncapitalised word to dictionary

   When I come across a word with an internal capital during spell-checking, eg: iPad, the 'Add' box is live (blue) but nothing happens when I click it.

4. Minion Pro Glyphs won't export to epub

   Minion Pro glyphs won't export to epub despite license saying it's supposed to be supported. Other glyphs are working (wingdings 2 are showing in the pic). It does export to pdf, just not epub.

   We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

6. [ID-4261145] White Horizontal lines appear on InDesign Document after enabling "Overprint Preview"

   InDesign CC 13.1 x64

   In every document I open, everytime there's a single line in the top area of the document/artboard. It appears when you activate the

   Overprint Preview with high quality. Then InDesign generates a thin white line 1px thick and 101px away from the top of the document. It

   also keeps this position when I zoom in or out. Only if I begin to drag the view via the hand tool then the line is broken (obviously it

   has some trouble to refresh complete).
   The line generates on all pages no matter if there're images or graphics or text in the document on this page.

   I discover this problem on both mac (MacOS Sierra) and pc (Win7 Prof. SP1 64 Bit).

   You can only avoid this error by activate the ruler. Then the line disappears completely.

   This workaround could be ok for me but sometimes I want to review my creation in high quality without the rulers or anything else
   disturbing my view.
   But there's no way to do that. The white line is displayed also in the presantation view.

7. Duplicating Page with table and copy/pasting a table changes content of table BUG?

   Version: 14.0.2

   I have a table that represents a linear calendar. Each month occupies a single row. I created a table to make the calendar, with each date in its own cell. I had some trouble figuring out how to make a new cell start at 1 for each month, as it wanted to continue from the last month's last date (...32, 33, 34, ...). I managed to make it work by changing the numbering options on each individual starting cell.

   However, now when I try to duplicate a page containing the calendar, or if I try to copy/paste the calendar, the individual cell's formatting seems to disappear, as the numbering on half of them continue from the numbering on the previous row.

   Steps to reproduce:

   1. Make a table with enough rows and columns to reproduce the consecutive numbering (For the months, most of my rows are 1-30) The columns represent the weekdays, repeating as many times as needed for the staggered dates.
   2. Select a cell in row 2 and add a blank character. I used 'End Nested Style Here' character per instructions from another InDesign user: Type>Insert Special Character>Other>End nested
   3. With cursor in cell, open Bullets and Numbering dialog. Select Number, put ^# in Number box, and Continue from Previous in Mode box. I also made sure the greyed-out box next to it said 1 (seemed to make a difference when I changed numbers). Then click OK.
   4. Follow the same procedure in a random cell on the next row, except in the Bullets and Numbering dialog you will this time choose a new list in the List dropdown.
   5. Repeat for all rows. Because I'm creating a calendar, the number list (1-30) staggers.
   6. Once the table is full, copy and paste it onto a new page. Then copy the entire page. For me, both produced the same result. 1, 2, 3,... was replaced with 31,32,33,... or 32, 33, 34... on some rows.

9. Effects not working correctly

   Some of the "effects" (inner glow, outer glow, basic feather, etc.) do not work as they are supposed to. For example, I cannot get the "outer glow" effect to apply only to text, it either applies itself to the whole object or it applies a very faint glow that can hardly be seen and that no amount of adjusting will fix (yes, I know that I have to choose "text" from the drop-down menu and unclick the effect for the "object"). And, just now (11/8/2018, 1:30 pm), I was trying to apply a gradient feather to just the "fill" of a text box and it did absolutely nothing. The box is still completely full of opaque color no matter what I do. Sometimes an effect will work in one area or section of my project and not in others. I like the effects, but I sure wish they worked more consistently.

10. Critical : can't sync fonts from Adobe

    Critical : can't sync fonts from Adobe :

    Hello, just like this guy below :

    Help! Unable to activate fonts InDesign 2019

    I can't sync fonts on indesign from Adobe Fonts. Nothing works. Tried everything.

    Tried syncing them from the Adobe Font website, tried in Indesign, uninstalled all indesign versions, restarted preferences, uninstalled adobe cloud.

    Deactivating fonts on adobe font website, reactivating them. Doing the same in the cloud app. No fix.

    FONTS HAVING ISSUES : Source Sans pro, Open Sans, League Gothic, Fire Sans , Fire Sans 2.

    The error message is : "unable to sync one or more fonts" (tried all the troubleshoot fixes from adobe for this message)

    But other fonts work well and do sync : Franklin URW, Bebas Neue etc.

    My colleague has no issue on his mac, but I do on my PC. We share the same adobe licence for 2 computers. I tried stopping all software firewall inside Windows.

    It's not due to our network, because my colleague uses the same network...

    I'm currently stuck with projects that can't sync fonts.

    What to do ?

    I already tried with older version of indesign, no success

    We’ve seen this issue happen when you have the same Font already installed on your machine.

    So you may try going to where your Fonts are installed on Windows machine – (Control panel > Fonts) and uninstall/remove the Fonts that you are unable to Sync from Adobe Fonts.

    Hopefully, the problem should get resolved.

11. Resizing Text boxes causes text to disappear/flow oddly

    Narrowing the text box causes text to disappear and not have the correct leading. Never have had this happen. It almost seems like it's automatically adding it's own "Space After".

12. Bad PDF Export to x1a with indd placed in InDesign

    • problem in InDesign CC2019 / macOS 10.14.3, 10.13.9
    • no problem with previous InDesign versions (on 10.13 systems)

    Sometimes i use InDesign document (page) placed into another InDesign document (because more work with some pages and reuse them in more documents). If these placed Indd documents contains RGB images with transparencies (like transparency in PSD files, or transparency effects applied to flat images in InDesign), these images are exported very bad, highly desaturated. But only when export to PDF X1a (required by our printer, i use profile "ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)" in all indd). No problem when exporting to higher PDF versions like X-4 (even with Colour Conversion set to "Convert to Destination (Preserve Numbers)").

    Now i solve this by exporting to PDF X-4 and use this PDF instead of direct indd placing to main document, but this is another step (was more practical use indd in indd, and when changes required, just "Edit original" and save, now are more steps needed like find original indd document in Finder and update PDF for update in main document).

    I also tried export main document as X-4 and then flat this in Acrobat using Preflight, but have not found option to use "ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)" profile and also it took long time (and crashed Acrobat).

    Please, is it possible to fix InDesign 2019 for proper x1a PDF export (with placed indd documents with transparent rgb images)? It worked OK in older InDesign.

13. Table of contents problem

    Hi.
    i am concerned about table of contents generation under indesign cc 2019 (14.0.1).
    When the titles to be placed in the table of contents are in a text box, everything happens normally. On the other hand, when the titles are in a table, the generation of the table of contents does not happen properly. See attached example.

14. Table of contents and variables weird behaviour

    When some of my titles have Variables in the TOC (variables that I have created) they appear in the TOC incorrectly. My Variable here is a dash date i.e. 2019-2020. At first I used "–" rather than "-" but both ended up with the same result. I've uploaded all screenshots to demonstrate what I'm talking about: The variable with the longer dash, the variable in the heading and the TOC that relates to it. Notice that some TOC's are affected, but not others, so I'm at a loss.

15. hyperlink in Character Formatting Controls menu not always working

    When selecting text and using the upper menu Character Formatting Controls to create a hyperlink, this does not always hold true. If I go back and select the text again and right click, the Hyperlink menu will ask for a new hyperlink and not edit hyperlink. Email hyperlinks are not always formatting correctly. If I use the right click menu, it seems to work. When I export, the PDF version do not always display the hyperlinks correctly.

16. InDesign opens destination folder when exporting.

    My InDesign opens the destination folder when exporting PDF-files. In my work I export files daily and I have to export them separately. So when I do this, after the export has completed successfully, the destination folder opens up automatically, which is very annoying. I can't seem to find any place, where I can turn this off. I can only turn it ON, if I don't export separately.

    1. brand new update CC 2019
    2. Create a document with more than 2 pages. Export all the pages separately.
    3. That it exports the pages separately into the destination folder without having the need to watch them in that folder (I use Bridge).
    4. It opens the destination folder in a new folder window.

17. CC Library after last update now puts white box around all graphics

    After the latest update, when I use my library to place a logo on a page in InDesign, it now almost looks like a white background PNG instead of the logo without any background. Running into printing issues with white boxes around all of our CC Library Graphics.

18. roman punctuation

    It would be great if InDesign had a Roman punctuation (hanging punctuation) option similar to Illustrator, where it was set with a toggle. The optical alignment in Story is useful; however, the Illustrator implementation of hanging punctuation is useful in many situations, too.

20. windows 10

    I am opening InDesign from the start menu but it crashes each time. it will open ok from CC.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
