1. InDesign "hangs" when exporting to InCopy:

   MAC, OS 15.10.3, InDesign 2020:
   Problems exported via InCopy (hangs and hangs and sometimes crashes) YES I have updated InCopy too. InDesign will no longer export IDML files (could this be due to no longer available to open in CS6?)

   Unfortunately, I am the only person who has upgraded to Catalina.

   Id this an Adobe fix or an Apple OS fix?

3. Document Title

   1. InDesign 15.1.1 on Mac. Just updated on 6-24-20.
   2. Open file. Choose File Info. Attempt to type in the Document Title field.
   3. Should see the text I am typing.
   4. Text is not visible on screen. If you type something and then save the file, the text will be there the next time but you can't see all of it.
   5. See attached files.

5. Fan still running high in latest version of Indesign CC 15.1.1

   Many people have commented in the user forums about this.

   Have just installed the latest update and it's still happening. CPU processes listed for Indesign between an average of 94.1 to 104.6, sometimes dropping for a brief second to around 90.

   MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 64GB RAM

   Hopefully this can get fixed as it was not an issue in the pre-June release.

7. PDF export default setting [Smallest File Size] creates a HUGE file (700MB for a 4 page document)

   When I want to export a PDF, it is 200 times bigger than I expected. Regardles of if I manually change the compression to a minimum or select any of the preselects [Smallest File Size]. A four page pdf always exports as a +700MB file.

   The InDesign version is currently up to date with 15.0.2

9. Merging Border not apply correctly on different paragraphs of the same style

   Indesign CC 2019 (14.0.3)

   The borders don't merge on different paragraphs of the same style , although "merge borders" is checked in the paragraph style. The borders leave a line in the center of the text.

   It's not happen everytime but the bug remains on the PDF export.

11. InDesign Suffers Major Performance Issues When InCopy Files Are Linked To .indd File

    I use InDesign a lot for production art. Mostly I layout text and images for product manuals that range between 110 - 250 pages. It runs like a champ on both my Dell XPS 8930 and iMac 2019. Both machines are robust with 32 Gb of ram. However, once I convert text and graphics to InCopy files, I see a huge drop in machine performance. Doing the slightest things like updating the ICMA / ICML file will hang or crash InDesign. Even saving the file can take 2 minutes. I've had 3 instances where the InDesign file got corrupted from crashing so much. I keep sending crash reports to Adobe, but they have yet to address this.
    I feel like I'm walking on egg shells with InCopy. It's become very frustrating to work with.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.

12. WE MUST USE A SHARED SERVER

    Files can randomly corrupt when using a shared server? Every respectable business uses a shared server! We can't put confidential info on employee desktops as is recommended by Adobe because they can't support a shared server! At minmum if you can't support a shared server then make back up files which can be accessed if a file is corrupt. And no, your recovery option doesn't work when a back up file is corrupt. I've just missed a deadline, spent a ton of money on lost work and need to recreat all the lost work. Thanks Adobe........for nothing!!! Adapt to your users needs, don't ask your users to adapt to yours!!!

13. Linked text block loses link if replaced.

    InDesign Version 15.0.2
    Steps to reproduce issue:
    a.) drag a formatted dummy text block to page from CC Library
    b.) select dummy text block, CMD + D, select copy file to place.
    c.) select same dummy text block, CMD + D, select any copy file and place again.
    Expected result: Copy file link should be shown in links panel.
    Actual result: Copy file link dissappears during step "C".
    *This issue doesn't happen when dummy text block is pulled from a local library.

14. Cannot copy/paste elements from 2019 to 2020 without the element becoming an image

    InDesign 2019 14.0.3 copy/paste issue into InDesign 2020 15.0.01 (and vice-versa).

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. In a 2019 InD doc, copy a text box with text inside it.
    2. Open a new document in InD 2020.
    3. Paste the text box with text inside it into 2020 InD.
    4. The text becomes an image instead of live text. Though, no links show up in the links panel.
    5. This can be reproduced if copying from 2020 into 2019. But it does not happen if copying/pasting from a 2020 doc into a 2020 doc, 2019 doc into a 2019 doc.
    6. This happens with other elements, such as boxes with strokes and no text.

    I'm not aware of this happening before or that this is a preference issue. Seems like a bug.

15. Multiple spaces between words

    No idea just a simple bug report, but first your system places multiple adds in the process of getting to this point. Second I'm not interested in playing games with your process, I do not have time. NOW, here is the problem:

    While copying text from https://www.easa.europa.eu/sites/default/files/dfu/EasyAccessRules_for_AirOperations-Oct2019.pdf on the while on the internet and pasting into InDesign I get one or two spaces between the words. I then have to remove the spaces manually. I'm working with a lot of information and do not need to take the time removing the spaces.

17. inDesign not showing all typekit activated fonts

    Typekit shows fonts activated but they are missing from "find font" windows.

    Font in adobe typekit.
    Font: In adobe type kit, turned ON.

    Font: shown as MISSING in indesign
    Font: not able to replace because it does not show up in "FIND FONT" dialogue

    Available in standard pulldown tab.

    ATTEMPTS TO FIX:
    1 - turned off suitcase
    2 - cleared font cache and rebooted
    3 - unsintalled indesign and preferences, reinstalled fresh
    4 - installed this patch https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/font-manager-crash.html

    Indesign import this PDF and export PDF, result: images are cropped !!!

    Same result Acrobat Pro optimising this PDF !!!

    Acrobat Pro or Indesign print this PDF ok !!!

20. 15.1 MacBook Pro Fan now running full time since updating to latest version.

    Since installing 15.1 and the update the fan is now running full time. This was not the case in the previous builds of Indesign CC
