1. Turn off Hyphenation across Page Breaks

   I love the don't hyphenate across column breaks, however in some instances I have a 2-column setup and hyphens on the page is ok, but across page breaks is not. Please add this as an option in the hyphenation options. OR add it as something you can check in pre-flight.

2. Links within linked Indesign files appear pixellated even if the links are updated.

   Linked images within linked Indesign files appear pixelated, even if the links are updated. It's temporarily fixed by relinking the file – but it goes back to appearing pixelated when the file is reopened. This has only happened recently and has never been a problem in the past.

3. Indesgin sucks at exporting interactive PDF.

   Developers, answer me, please.
   I used InDesign to make e-books (interactive PDF).
   But every e-book was very heavy with 10 MB or more, even though I left the quality of the images at 72 or 96 DPI, and still using few images. It gets very heavy especially if you use dynamic links from Photoshop and Illustrator.
   I tried everything, but I couldn't solve this problem. Is there any way to resolve this?
   At Microsoft Publisher, Affinity Publisher and even Canva or Power Point it is much easier to have a light PDF with good quality images. I believe this is a defect in InDesign, the developers did not prioritize this part of exporting interactive PDF.
   There is also another problem, and this is even worse.
   The PDF made in InDesign when opened in Adobe Acrobat is always loading the images. As you zoom in or change the pages, images are always loaded.
   I need to make a light e-book, with good image quality, and that the images are not loading all the time, and in InDesign the images are not static as if it were really a page printed on the screen, and that gives a file impression heavy .. Can you understand me?
   I can only use InDesign again when I am able to resolve this, but I believe these problems are bugs.
   It is not possible that even something like Canva is much more attractive to create a PDF than software for professionals such as InDesign, please check this out.

4. Document slowdown when fonts not activated

   When fonts aren't activated in an InDesign document, InDesign CC2019 slows down and is practically unusable unless you activate most or all of the fonts used in the document. This wasn't the case in previous versions of InDesign, when you could deactivate fonts intentionally in order to troubleshoot files. In long form documents that may use multiple fonts, this was an especially useful tool.

   As InDesign documents are frequently separated from their fonts, especially when using font managers instead of Document fonts, this slowdown becomes a burden when checking files in larger workflows and inhibits font troubleshooting. Could the behavior in previous versions of InDesign, where the activation of fonts was not a requirement for file responsiveness?

5. Message about pasting text with endnotes shows up one paste later

   Pasting text with endnote(s) does not show a message. You instead get that message the next time you paste an object, even if that object is not a text box containing endnote(s).

   There is also a grammar error in the message, where the word "and" should be ", which" — and there is no period at the end of the sentence.

   This has been in the last few versions of InDesign. I am using 15.0.1 now.

   Reproduce:
   - Copy text with endnote(s) to the clipboard
   - Paste text into a new thread
   - Text pastes properly; a new page is added for the endnote(s) (I am not commenting on THAT behavior)
   - No message appears
   - Copy a text box or other object(s)
   - Paste
   - Message appears: The text that you have pasted has endnotes and have been placed at the end of this story

6. In newest version of InDesign, lowercase letter "h" is unresponsive in a text frame. Uppercase is fine. Workaround is to type uppercase

7. 15.0.1 - can't copy any aspect of a table and paste into another row/column/etc

   You can no longer copy a cell or row or column and paste into another table. Allows you to copy but when you highlight the new row/cell/column to paste into it, both the quick key and also Edit > Paste do not work.

8. Grep expressions with ~F in a character class fail in endnotes

   The inclusion of ~F in a character class invalidates grep expressions in endnotes.

   InDesign version: 14.0.2.324 (with the GREP fix installed)

   Steps to reproduce:

   1. Open the attached document. It contains a single page with text and an endnote.
   2. In the GREP tab of the Find/What window, enter the following GREP expression:

   \d[^.,;~F]+

   And target the document. The expression matches from a digit up to the next period, comma, semicolon, or footnote marker.

   Expected result: The expression should match some text in the main text and in the endnote.
   Actual Result: The expression does not match anything in the endnote.

   To show that it's ~F that's the problem, use this expression:

   \d[^.,;]+

   It matches in the main text and in the footnote, as expected.

   The inclusion of ~F in a character class invalidates grep expressions in endnotes.

10. Folders on desktop with only Document Fonts inside

    I'm not sure which area this applies to, but every time I save or Package a file I get a bunch of empty folders on the desktop with job numbers from previous work and all they contain are a 'Document Fonts' folder inside. This is REALLY frustrating. So far, if I quit and restart, it stops for a while, but starts up again.

    Each time I safe or package a file it creates one extra folder, cumulatively. The latest time I saved, 8 irrelevant folders appeared on my desktop.

    This is confusing and I inadvertently deleted an active work folder thinking it was one of these random ones.

    Please fix this soon!!!!!!!

    when overlay is opend

13. Optical Kerning issues after recent v15 update

    After the recent update (v15.0), I am having issues with Optical kerning, specifically with the font Noto Serif Khmer (Cambodian font). The kerning is completely off. I've opened the file in v14.0.3 and everything works fine in that version.

14. Import Word file - cannot set 'Import as Static Text' as Default Preset

    When I import a Word document I want the option 'Import as Static Text' ticked all the time.

    The problem is that if I tick 'Import as Static Text' and make it a new Default Preset, InDesign remembers this until I quit InDesign and then relaunch it. The relaunched InDesign doesn't remember it - it remembers the Preset name, but it doesn't remember to tick 'Import as Static Text'.

    This happens in CC2019 and CC2020. Could you please fix it so that the Preset you make remembers to keep 'Import as Static Text' ticked all the time, even when you quit and relaunch InDesign.

    When I import a Word document I want the option 'Import as Static Text' ticked all the time.

    The problem is that if I tick 'Import as Static Text' and make it a new Default Preset, InDesign remembers this until I quit InDesign and then relaunch it. The relaunched InDesign doesn't remember it - it remembers the Preset name, but it doesn't remember to tick 'Import as Static Text'.

15. Presentation

    When changing to the presentation mode the side visualization glitches. Same happen when I want to scroll through some pages. Even if the first page looks finde the second one isn't.
    With only one side the problem isn't there every time I use the presentation mode. But you can see the visualization glitch for a seconds before it goes back to normal.

16. fonts activate

    Indesign 15.0.1: Hello, I have the same problem. Adobe Fonts don´t load. When I click to activate a font it changes icon to "activating" but it never activates.

18. Hyperlinks don't work once published online

    I have created an Interactive Road Map with animation, sound and hyperlinks. This was working with InDesign 2018 to 2019 when I first published it. However, I needed to update the road map but then once published online using InDesign 2020 all the hyperlinks and sound stopped working. I've tried going back using older versions of InDesign but those features seem to stop functioning. I've even tried re-inserting the URLs for the hyperlinks.

    When trying to input a specific value for any number field, it's just white and won't reflect anything I type or reflect the change when I hit return.
