Graphic and text in same cell(s) or table
I can't see how to do it presently but it would be great to be able to put both a graphic and text placed over it in the same cell, or a number of cells or the entire table. RIght now it appears to be an either/or choice. I have anchored an image to a table so that it overprints the cell or table but that is rather clunky.

Preserve Formatting Pasting text from CC Apps
I just did a nutritional label in ai and linked it to an indesign project, but wanted it to be more flexible using Indesign's text frames. As you know, nutritional labels require a TON of font size and weight variances so it really threw me for a loop that I couldn't retain all the formatting I had done when I pasted the text into indesign. Ruined my day sigh

Copy CMYK, RGB values in Color Picker as text
I would like to be able to copy RGB or CMYK values as text so I can paste them elsewhere. This would be helpful in my daily work where I make color palettes and then describe them with text in a brand guide. See the attached screenshot where I am currently updating CMYK and RGB values by hand from the color picker.

Add Text Macros like in InCopy
I create a lot of documents that have textual elements that are repetitive, like resumes that include a project description. When using MS Word, I use the Quick Parts functionality to capture that text and insert it whenever I need it.
My company is just beginning to explore the InDesign/InCopy workflow, and I saw that InCopy has a feature much like Quick Parts, called Text Macros. I could really use this if it was implemented in InDesign as well. I have used Autocorrect for similar functionality, but I have never tried it with more than a few words at…

Exporting text from unchained boxes
The ability to export selected unchained text boxes into ONE text file, by selecting them and then exporting, rather than having to export multiple boxes into multiple files, and then collating them. And have them appear in order.
This would very useful when exporting text from print to the web, being able to extract an entire story in one hit, or when extracting, for example, multiple quote boxes
At the moment one has to export an entire page and it just turns into a mush1 vote -

Hyperlinks should create automatically https and individual Alt-Text for mail-hyperlink
Interactive PDF creation should automatically create "https:" instead of the obsolete "http" for the hyperlinks. It should be possible to enter your own "alt" text for the e-mail link - this looks like an error when the user hovers over it with the mouse and gets %%%, etc. Therefore, unfortunately, I still solve it with a hyperlink "mailto:",... because at least this is also displayed here again. A sorting function for the hyperlinks would also be great - i.e. a folder system. Accessibility should also be significantly simplified here - that would be great.

Text Hotkey window tool
A windowed tool that allows you to assign "Hot keys" to font styles where you could quickly edit text on the fly. The text hot key tool would have an activated switch so when its on, it applies your hot keys and when its off everything goes back to normal. This would mostly be used for references where authors names are italicized, body copy is regular and numbers are bold. I know it is similar to the eye dropper tool except you would be able to edit all at once rather than have to go back to each style. The…

Copy text from the Indesign Review panel, into my text in my Indesign file.
I work a lot with the review links, and I can copy text from the webbrowser review panel; but not from the review panel in Indesign itself. Which makes that If I need to copy a piece of text; written by my reviewers, to adjust in the copy of my file, I have to go to the web version of the link, copy there, go back to ID, find the piece of copy I want to adjust and paste it in there. Very time consuming work around.
Can this be fixed?

Can we get text to go along with the video tutorials?
Videos can be useful, but we can read text MUCH faster than listening to a video. And we can easily refer to text where we can't in a video.
Please just supply the same learning in text form as well.

Easy drag and drop to base one text style on another
I would love for an easy drag and drop to base one text style on another in the paragraph and character style palettes. The idea is to drag a paragraph style (para) that you want to base on and drop onto another style (parafirst or paralast). I work on book designs with lots and lots of style tags. It will save designers so much time to do it all in the palettes instead of opening up each style and scroll through the style list every time.
In addition, similar to how we apply parent/master pages to pages, it’d…

Adding Ordinal Format Options to Text Variables
I'm using Text Variables to show when the last time a document was modified. Currently, it outputs as "December 30, 2020", however, I would like it to be formatted with an ordinal option so it would display as "December 30th, 2020". Note the "TH" after the 30. So Xst, Xnd, Xrd and Xth would be displayed on the appropriate number.
Thanks in advance for the consideration and all the best!

Curvilinear text tool on several lines
Instead of limitating the use of this tool to one line, you should be able to make a paragraph based on the shape you use the curvilinear tool on.
For instance, if i want to write on the edge of a wheel divided in different parts, so that the text follows the shape of the circle. Let's say that the name of the wheel's part is a three lines title, when i press enter, indesign would create another circle on wich the text would follow the curve. see atached picture

Content Placer Tool Place Into Existing Frame
The behaviour should be exactly the same when i place a document with the Place... option. Hold the alt key, the pointer shows two opening brackets to indicate the Paste into function and Done. Currently I cant place collected content into frames. I always have to click and drag new ones.

no vertical justification on last column
Implement a setting which will prevent the last column being justified vertically. Currently you have to add a separate text box that is set to align top to prevent this

Automatically change text in alternate Design

Allow object styles to be applies to all threaded text boxes
I have a couple of threaded text frames. I would like them to all have the same object style, which also includes a paragraph style in them.
As of now, indesign officially states that threaded text boxes can't share these settings. I can see why this makes sense in certain conflicting situations, but it is definitely required in many situations (just as I'm really needing it now).
I think it's fair for indesign to at least have it as an option that can be turned on or off - the option to apply object styles (e.g. paragraph styles) across…
