Include the 'Paste in Front' and 'Paste in Back' features that are already in Illustrator.
Being able to paste in front or in back makes layout of overlapping objects a breeze. Everytime I have to cut and paste an object, I need to set the arrangement of the object. It becomes a pain when I have many objects on the same layer.

Table Cell Strokes
It is something of a chore to select individual strokes in Window 'Cell Options' – Tab 'Strokes & Fills'.
… you need to align exactly the cursor's hotspot (to the pixel) on the stroke you wish to select or deselect… and often need to click a few times if you're slightly off. I often need to have, let's say all horizontal strokes selected in a table… so I have to deselect all vertical strokes.Currently, we can double-clic to select, say the outside borders, or the inside.
But it would be nice to have buttons that would:
- select/deselect all strokes;
- select/deselect all horizontal strokes;
- select/deselect all vertical strokes. It is something of a chore to select individual strokes in Window 'Cell Options' – Tab 'Strokes & Fills'.

Add "no hyphenation" as a character style.
"No Break" does not mean the same as "No Hyphenation".
If you have a long sentence and not only one word that should not be hyphenated, adding "no break" style is no help. You must exclude all the spaces in the sentence to make the sentence break.
A new character style "no hyphenation" would do this automatically.32 votes -
Enable easy batching of GREP Find/Change queries & expandable 'entry window'
Hi there,
Rather than rely on third-party software (or convoluted scripts), there should be an option to batch GREP queries together in the Find/Change menu.
Also, it would be nice (for more extensive/complicated GREPs) to be able to expand the window in general (pertaining to both Find/Change's GREP tab and the equivalent menu for GREP styles elsewhere) when entering the expressions.
As an addendum to that last point, at the very least InDesign should have a built in (expandable) panel for copying and pasting complicated GREP syntax without having to worry about certain syntax items disappearing if copied and pasted elsewhere for review/edit outside of the tiny text window within the current UI. I'm aware of RegExr and it works okay, but this should really be built in (or even better, allow the window to expand as suggested above).
Thanks,

Find all except this Paragraph or Character Style
Add an option in (Find Format) tab of Find/Change window, We can exclude one or more style from search. For instance, find question mark in all styles, except (Body Copy Style).
Instead of repeating the query for each style.32 votes -

improve pdf comments!
Firstly, kudos on the improved PDF comments. They are much much faster. No comparison. Thank you. It also seems to be working (although not tested much) much better with mixed English and Hebrew.
However, if you look at the attached screenshot, ❶ the comment icon is small and b/w. It would be extremely helpful if this was large and ❷ just like in DC, the comments box wastes tons of space. It would be nice if the text was much larger. This was executed very nicely in Acrobat XI (ruined in DC which nobody can use now). Could you make it mimic XI? It would be much much easier to implement corrections.
Secondly, something I have complained about before: you give the option to either enter one correction at a time or enter all of them for the whole product. It would speed up the process many-fold if I could on one page choose more than one correction to apply. Say I have 8 corrections and I want to apply 5. I would like to be able to select 5 corrections and apply all 5 in one go.
And finally, and this is absolutely critical to truly make PDF comments useful: Right now, if I apply a correction, it’s almost impossible to see the correction. With DTP Annotations, you can apply all the corrections or just 15 on a page, and wherever corrections have been applied, I can easily see since the correction is marked in yellow. With PDF comments, all I have is a tiny very light blue “:” which is impossible to see.
I welcome the improvements in 15.1.1 – they have sped up my workflow, but the above features (that one guy managed to do years ago for DTP Annotations), would be a game-changer.

Export vector objects as .svg in ePub
When exporting to ePub, please include an option to export vector objects as .svg instead of automatically rasterizing them. .svg objects is supported in ePub so there's no reason not to have the option to export vector objects as vector objects.

Restart footnotes after a style
In addition to being able to restart footnotes every new section, page, or spread, add the ability to restart footnote numbering after a paragraph style of your choosing. Let's say I wanted to have footnotes restart each chapter and each chapter began with a numeral with the paragraph style named "chapter number," then I wouldn't necessarily have to watch or redo my sections, they would just automatically restart (at 1) after each "chapter number" style.

Improving table styles
Problems in the development of tables
Currently we have some drawbacks when it comes to automating as much as possible the application of the tables by using "table styles", this is because our tables have 4 different sectors (hotrizontals), unlike the possibility that Indesign offers only 3 types of rows "header rows", "footers rows" and "text rows". This, for the moment, we solve it in the following way: once we apply the style of table, we select the rows that we want to change and we apply by hand the "cell style".
One possible solution is that the "style of tables" menu will allow you to incorporate more rows according to need, choosing the cell style you want and even being able to define in those headers parameters such as the number of rows they will occupy.Problems in the development of tables

Add a Search field to the Scripts panel!
I have A LOT of scripts. I try to organize them by folders, but I still waste time looking for the right script. A SEARCH field, like in the Fonts panel, would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks!

Save for web
Why don't you implement a "save for web feature" like in illustrator or photoshop? It would be very useful to export assets for web starting from layout designed in Indesign.
Thanks!

Shortcuts can't be assigned to Styles if Keyboard does not have Numpad.
In the Adobe docs it says "If your keyboard does not have a Num Lock key, you cannot add keyboard shortcuts to styles." I can't believe that Adobe is perfectly content with just excluding large portions of its Mac user base, those of us who are exclusively using a Mac laptop for work (which does not have a keyboard with a numeric pad or the Num Lock Key), from being able to create and therefore take advantage of time-saving shortcuts for character styles. I mean, come on. Why is it again that I am paying $50/month for Adobe CC?

One-click, easy install for Hunspell dictionaries
Please, please make the adding of Hunspell language dictionarys easier.
Have just added a Hunspell language dictionary to InDesign. Wow! What a difficult un-user friendly process. I had to Google to find the baffling instuctions and followed the lengthy guide on InDesignSecrets website.
It's not just me that finds the whole thing so complicated - the InDesignSecrets instructions end with the following words -
"I never expected installing Hunspell dictionaries to be such an ordeal. And I can understand if these instructions have scared you off. But if you’ve made it all the way down here, you’re obviously need to add new languages to InDesign. Good luck!"https://indesignsecrets.com/adding-hunspell-dictionaries-indesign.php

Select objects with similar stroke and/or fill color
Please add feature to select objects with similar stroke and/or fill color.
This has already been in Illustrator for quite awhile (to my knowledge). This would be good feature to have in InDesign also.
Thanks!

Allow Webp files to be used.
I know .webp is a web based format. webp should be a fuctional supported file format in All Adobe products without an aftermarket plugin.
If I am missing how to do this I would appreciate any info that can be provided.
Thanks
