InDesign 2024 starts with "CreateObject("InDesign.Application.2023")" in an environment where 2023 and 2024 coexist.
Reproduction steps
1. InDesign 2023 (18.x) is installed on Windows
2. Install InDesign 2024 (19.0) there.
3. Run the following code in VBScript.
Set myInDesign = CreateObject("InDesign.Application.2023")Expected result
InDesign 2024 (19.0) will start.Actual result
InDesign 2023 (18.0) will start.cause
InDesign 2024 installer is overwriting the 2023 registry.
\HKCR\CLSID{231441AB-8969-4F6D-8CD1-B596C4047898}
is the registry for InDesign 2023, but the InDesign 2024 installer has rewritten the contents to InDesign 2024. The same goes for related registries.25 votesThe fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2024(v19.0.1.205). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

Application Frame Sticks to One External Monitor and Fails to Move Between Monitors (Windows 11)
I am experiencing an issue with a user where the application frame is stuck on a specific external monitor. When I attempt to drag the window to another external monitor, it automatically reverts to its original position on the main monitor. I can minimize and drag the corners to adjust size of window but cannot move it over to other monitors. This behavior occurs across multiple workstations, and I have already attempted the following troubleshooting steps:
Ensured that all software is fully updated.
Restarted the device multiple times.
Adjusted the resolution settings and reinstalled display drivers.
Removed and reconnected external…1 vote -

InDesign performance issue: Hangs when exporting to PDF
- Latest Indesign CC, Windows 10
- ID would sometimes not finish the export to PDF task and hangs for minutes. It must then be killed in the task manager. During this it constantly consumes a big lot of RAM and CPU power. See attachment.

InDesign steals focus in Windows 10
Whenever InDesign launches or performs a task such as PDF export, if the user switches to another application, InDesign will steal the focus back.
This annoyance has been around for quite some time as outlined in this thread: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2001514

Make it possible to paste a color code containing a # character
Please make it possible to paste a HEX color text string containing a hash character (e.g. "#ffffff"), into the the small text box in the color panel.
At least on Mac, it is not possible in Indesign 20.1. Very annoying.1 vote -
ctrl+[
Version 15.1.1.
Using CTRL + [ when the CC Libraries Window/Tab is open closes the window on the workspace instead of sending the selected object backwards. I have to manually go back to the Toolbar and check CC Libraries so it can reappear again only for it to close out again when I use CTRL + [ unless I manually click on my artboard or close out of the window first before using the shortcut. Maybe it's a shortcut that I'm unaware of, and if it is I think it's being shared with a shortcut that is used too…

Cannot Pan/Scroll with WACOM pen in Open/Save/Place file dialogue windows.
Cannot Pan/Scroll with Wacom pen in Open/Save/Place type file dialogue windows in mmany if not all of Adobe apps (where every other non-Adobe app I know of does, Apple and other 3rd parties), obviously this pertains to when you've mapped a Wacom pen button to pan/scroll to use in that manner (Wacom settings screen attached).
What should happen is being able to interact similar to touch omnidirectional swiping which includes vertical mouse-like scrolling when pressing the button and making contact with the pen, as would be expected and Wacom designed it to do.
What instead happens: Adobe apps interpret…

Links palette issue
Hi there;
I'm encountering a bug with the "Links" palette. Specifically, for a long list of links, the "Link info" panel doesn't preview properly, but rather overlaps the main list of links. Similarly, if a link alphabetically appears towards the bottom of the list, it isn't possible to select it from the Links palette.
Hoping this can be fixed with the next INDD update?!

[ID-4257736]InDesign hangs when placing CJK tagged text with ruby
I'm currently using ID 2024, but I have tested other versions of ID, back to CS6, and they all have the same problem. I'm currently running Windows 11, but the problem also occurs in Windows 10.
Steps:
- Install the Adobe font family, Source Han Sans TW, on your computer.
- Download TaggedText.zip and unzip it
- Open InDesign in the CJK version
- Create a new document with these grid attributes: Direction = Vertical; Font = Source Han Sans TW, Normal; Size = 16 pt; Vertical = Horizontal = 100%; Char Aki = 0 pt; Line Aki = 10 pt; Characters…

Shortcuts and keyboard keys stop working.
CC2018, Windows 10, latest update as of 01/18/18, x64 system with 12GB RAM. I often have to close and reopen documents or InDesign itself for shortcuts and some keys to work. There does not seem to be a common cause or specific file(s) that sets it off and it may or may not happen to all open documents if more than one is open. Generally closing the document and reopening it helps, but there have been times where I have to restart the program for anything to work. The issue includes any shortcuts and sometimes keys such as the…

Unable to Stretch InDesign Across Two Monitors After Update
Environment:
OS: Windows (PC)
InDesign Version: 21.0 x64
Hardware: Dual-monitor setupIssue:
After the latest major update, InDesign no longer supports spanning the application window across two monitors. When attempting to resize the window to cover both screens, the UI automatically snaps back to a single-monitor configuration.
Expected Behavior:
The application should allow the window to extend across multiple monitors, as was possible in previous versions.
Observed Behavior:InDesign reverts to one monitor when stretched across two.
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop continue to support multi-monitor spanning without issue.Question:
Has there been a change in multi-monitor support or window…1 vote -
[ID-4257733]The amount of “Indent to Here” in a paragraph with a “Text Wrap” object at the beginning of the line is wider than usual.
- Version of Adobe InDesign Windows CC2023-2024
- Steps to reproduce the issues Place an object with "Text Wrap" at the beginning of the line and insert "Indent to Here" in the paragraph.
- Expected result Wrap at "Indent to Here"
- Actual result A gap is created where the "Text Wrap" is added to the wrap of "Indent to Here".
I suspect that the issue mentioned in the post below may be related to it being fixed in 2023 (18.0).
https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/42200695-text-wrapping-has-changed-to-before-2019-use-textfIt was working normally until CC2022, but problems have been occurring since CC2023.

Hello,
I have an issue with the size of some panel. For example, the "paragraph" one and the "character" one are oversized, they are too long and I can't reach the end or even redimensionized it. How can I fix that?1 vote -

[ID-4257734]When you place an object with ‘Corner Options’ and ‘Text Wrap (Wrap around object shape)’ on a frame, the text moves.
Checked on Windows 10 Japanese version, InDesign CS5 to CC2024
1.Create a new document
2.Create a frame grid with the Horizontal Grid Tool
3.Insert a few line breaks at the beginning and assign sample text
4.Draw a rectangle with the Rectangle Tool
5.Set the shape in Corner Options to anything other than ‘None’
6.Set the text wrap to ‘Wrap around object shape’
7.When the drawn rectangle is placed on the frame, it is pushed out by one characterIt’s strange that the text moves even though the rectangle is not placed on top of the text.
