Indesign CC 2017 does not accept color management
Hello!
I work on Mac with high Sierra 10.13.2 with adobe CC 2015, 2017 and 2018.
I have been working with Adobe for 25 years and therefore know the subject color management settings & synchronization.
In Photoshop I have a color set made up of ECI RGB and ISOcoated v2 and other parameters such as rel.fartric with TK, etc. Then I synced with the bridge the suite on this set. Photoshop and AI do not accept this set but InDesign does. The error message comes:
"Some parameters of the color settings file could not be used. The default values are used."
I have created a new color set from Indesign with eciRGB v2 and ISOctd v2 and get the same problem as prescribed.
Have already tried everything, even the whole Adobe cc package uninstalled and reinstalled again.
It did not help. In the 2015er and 2018er version, the indesign color management works flawlessly. Only with the 2017er version hooks it. If you create a new document after restarting the program, it will always be created with sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and Coated Fogra39 (ISO 12647-2: 2004). Only when you go into the color settings, and unchanged with ok confirmed (the settings are all right in there with eci rgb and isocoated) created indesign the new documents with the eci rgb and isocoated v2 profiles. I will despair soon !!!
There are no umlauts in the name in it. Have also tried several times to reset the profiles and save again. Then the error message always comes as described by clemens. Although it saves the file in the Setting folder, it does so in conjunction with the complete path. The file that Indesign stores as a color settings file is as follows:
/ Users / username / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Color / Settings / Test.csf
(this long line is the filename !!!)The file was saved in the Settings directory under:
/ Users / username / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Color / SettingsAs already explained, the correct information under the color setting is in it, but after a restart of the program only active when you call color settings and again confirmed with OK. And only in Indesign 2017!
If you open a new page right after the restart, ID will include the profiles sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and Coated Fogra39 (ISO 12647-2: 2004).
When opening existing files, no message box appears on "Deviation from profile or policy".I have still tried the folder writing rights repaired or re-adjusted
In addition, I have the plate still run on the first aid in the hard disk utility.
Unfortunately, the error still exists. What I have to say about this problem is that this error exists in three workplaces.
I think it's a bug in Indesign.
Have already discovered 3 or 4 cases on the net, but also with older Indesign versions,
but all with the same mistake. Unfortunately, there was nowhere a solution for it.Hello!

7 votesThank you for reporting the issue. We need some information around the issue which may help us in narrowing down the root cause:
1. Does it happen with the latest InDesign version 14.0.1 ?
2. Is it document specific or happens with all the documents?
3. Does it happen when you switch between Adobe applications in a specific order ?
4. Please specify your Platform, OS version and InDesign version.A short video depicting the issue will be very helpful.

Presentation mode is not entering fullscreen and hiding the UI
Using InDesign on Windows 10. Recently (perhaps with the last CC update to 13.0.1 x64?) preview mode is no longer working as expected.
Whether using shift+W or via the menu, instead of full-screen document + black background (expected behaviour for Presentation mode), InDesign instead appears to be going into Preview mode, where the UI remains onscreen. The pasteboard is changing to black, however, the UI remains instead of full-screen mode.

Object Style Size and Frame Fitting bug
Where is what I did:
Create an Object style that has the size height and width set (I used 4x3in) AND the Frame Fitting Options set (I tried Fill Frame Proportionally with and without Auto-Fit). Import some photos. I did 4 at once and click-&-dragged them at different sizes. Frame size is correct, but frame fitting is ignored. It has to be applied manually after placement.7 votesThe issue has been fixed in InDesign 14.0.1

Disturbed InDesign workflow with several Macs on Apple Server
All Macs in the network are running macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 and InDesign CC 2018 13.01 – Server is running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and Apple Server 5.1.5.
Prior to InDesign CC 2018 everything went fine. Now, users in the network (SMB share) are having issues opening/editing files saved by another user (with the same macOS and Indesign version, as mentioned above).
I knew that the initial High Sierra upgrade could break file sharing, but all Macs have the latest macOS security update installed (hence version 10.13.1).
Sometimes, if a user waits for up to 30 minutes, he/she can open InDesign files saved by another user without a problem. Nevertheless, this issue breaks workflow gravely.
Any ideas on this problem? Anyone experienced issues like this? Perhaps updating the server to High Sierra and a newer Server version could fix the problem?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Gray box replaces images
Adobe InDesign 13.0.1
Mac OS 10.11.6Today for first time, I had three similar 8-page newspaper documents open and one of them displayed only a gray box where the front page photo (full page image) had displayed before. I tried checking all display settings and could not bring the image back. Meanwhile, other full page ads got gray boxes also. The other two documents displayed similar content with no problem.
I quit InDesign, and re-opend problem document. It then displayed all of the images properly.

InDesign hangs/crashes while publishing InDesign documents via Publish Online
Unable to create a URL from the Publish Online button. Does not complete task. Freezes at 98%. I have tried restarting (app and computer both) using a different file extension, etc.
- Indesign CC 2018 13.1.0 x64 Windows
- Click "publish online" from INDD or IDML file
- URL from the "publish online" command.
- Hangs out at 98% and doesn't produce a URL, but doesn't totally freeze the program. I can still use the program while this happens.

IDML custom page sizes
When using an INDD file with custom page sizes, IDML export does not keep Master Page and Document Pages aligned properly, because it registers them as different sizes.
Even if the pages are the same.

Guides/Gridlines too thin/difficult to see on Retina display
Not sure if really a 'bug', but since upgrading to Apple Retina iMacs, everyone in my office is having trouble seeing gridlines, margins, and guides in the interface. The lines are just extremely thin on Retina displays. I have excellent vision and I find them difficult to see. Other employees with glasses are really struggling. We could really use something in the preferences to slightly increase the thickness of guides.

Anchored frame looses the XML tag information as soon as anchor is released/anchor point is moved forward.
Steps to reproduce
Create an anchored text/graphic frame with some inline text/image. Tag the frame with some XML Tag (say 'tag1').
Now release the anchor.
Expected output
- On releasing the anchor, there should be no changes in the XML tag on frame.Actual output
- On releasing the anchor, the frame gets untagged.Additional note: Similar thing happens when anchor is moved forward to another position in inline text. In this case also, frames gets untagged

Placing and Moving Images Changes Opacity
If I place an image and then try to move it within the bounding box, the opacity appears to change to around 50%. However, the opacity is still set to 100%. I can correct it by hitting Undo which reverts the image back to normal. From what I can tell, it is only a visual bug. Exporting the image doesn't show the change in opacity.
I haven't been able to reproduce this issue consistently but would say it happens around 80% of the time I try to move an image. Another interesting thing is that if the issue happens and I duplicate the image and change it's opacity, the original image reverts to normal again.

Command + option + drag no longer copies text box
Have used this feature for 20 years and now the double arrow indicating that a box is being copied shows up, but the text box is not actually copied--the box just moves.
7 votesThis is working as it should – that is, duplicating the selected object.
Please update to the latest available version of InDesign (13.1) via Creative Cloud application. Before launching InDesign, delete the Application Preferences and Caches to ensure that any corrupt preferences are not causing this issue to happen.
Please let us know if you still experience this issue.
Thanks,

Make it possible to anchor a graphic to the beginning of a paragraph without five or six tries and two or three zooms
It'll go AFTER the first letter…it'll go some random place in the first FEW letters, but before the first one? Especially if the first one is a sans-serif letter "I"? HAHAHAHAHAH! No. Not without cajoling, retrying, zooming, threatening, and telling it what a good little cursor it is.
I realize this isn't an exciting problem, but it's been literally decades of this feature being…what's the technical term…bad.

Clicking on a text box takes about 5/6 seconds before it selects it to move it.
