  1. Adobe Templates - Title Blocks won't allow editing in Modern Media Kit Layout

    Modern Media Kit Layout
    Chic Media Kit Layout

I would like to use these Adobe templates, but the top title blocks will not allow editing. All of the other text box elements on the page react when you click on them, allowing you the opportunity to edit them. I can't seem to edit "YOUR TITLE HERE" or "MEDIA KIT 2017"

Am I missing something about how to properly edit the title blocks on those templates? I can't even click on it... no option to capture/click/highlight the "YOUR TITLE HERE" section.

Guidance is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  2. "remove forced line breaks" gets unchecked any time I load table of contents styles

    Bug report:
Version of Adobe InDesign: 20.4.1 x64
Steps to reproduce the issues: Create TOC style with the option "remove forced line breaks" checked and save file. Start a new file and load the TOC style from the earlier file.
Expected result: TOC style remains unchanged from original after loading.
Actual result: TOC style loads, but "remove forced line breaks" has been automatically unchecked.

  3. Exported PNGs or JPEGs RGB Colors Slightly Different Versus Illustrator Export For Screens

So here is the situation and setup.

Illustrator File with Pantone Colors (Book LAB colors)
Color Settings are synced via Bridge (NA General Purpose)
Illustrator file is in CMYK Mode

In Illustrator File is exported to PNG (via Exported for Screens)

In InDesign the same Illustrator file is placed in InDesign and then Exported as PNG file.

When looking at the attached image the RGB values are slightly different most noticeably in the red. When looked at with the eyedropper in PS the CMYK values read as the same on both but the RGB is slightly different.

    For example:

  5. Updated version 21.0.2 features not working

Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server: 21.0.2, updated 12.01.2025
Steps to reproduce the issues: There are multiple issues occurring.
    1. Open existing file, last saved on 11.03.2025.
    2. App freezes when trying to use any function, e.g. copy/paste, duplicate page. Takes up a few minutes for any function to complete.
    3. When trying to save the file, I have to save as a new file.
    4. When exporting to PDF, does not Use InDesign Document Name as the Output File Name despite being selected. If selecting Range, only allows All Pages in dropdown. Does not export accessibility tags…

  6. Resized vectors not displaying properly in high quality display mode on drag

    14.0.2 x64 on Windows 10

    Steps:
    1. High Quality display mode (default settings)
    2. Place any EPS vector file.
    3. Attempt to resize it while holding ctrl-shift to maintain ratios.

    Expected result:
    The vector file, resized.

    Actual result:
Grey box. I have to zoom in or out to get the screen to "refresh" and show the correct image.

Similar issue happens with placed AI file. Very simple, clearly. Just a triangle. Made in the latest version of Illustrator.

The Youtube button is an EPS.

Related: If I use the option "Greek Vector Graphics on Drag" it performs correctly, only now…

  7. In a pixel-dimensioned InDesign document the pixels are always magnetic. There is no option like in Illustrator to deselect 'magnetic pixels

In all version of InDesign, as far as I can remember, pixel dimensioned documents have magnetic pixels. In Illustrator there is an option to deselect magnetic pixels. In InDesign it fails. At least, I think. And the technical assistant from Adobe thinks so.
For instance: if you try to draw a rectangle 3.4 x 4.2 pixels, you can not.

  8. InDesign 2023 18.0 /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ filling up with DBTmp files

We have an automated process using InDesign to export the XML out of a .indd files. We are experiencing a scenario where InDesign is leaving behind numerous DBTmp files in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ to the point that our Mac is filling up a 500 Gig SSD. These files do not clean up after Quitting InDesign, a Reboot, attempting the Reset InDesign Preferences Shift-Control-Option-Command startup of InDesign. These files are also locked. In our scenario, we hit 119,000 files or so and InDesign just quit working due to the drive being full. I have attached a list of the…

  9. Spell Checker

    Hello
I have a problem with spell checking in Indesing. The issue is that it does not correct words that are wrongly accented, for example, in Spanish, the word "como" when it should have an accent or the word "mas" when it should have an accent.
    Let me explain:
The sentence (always in Spanish): ¿como te va la vida? should be written like this: ¿cómo te va la vida? and when I run the spell checker it does not detect the word "como", since it should have an accent. However, if I write ¿como te va la bida? it does…

  10. Guides aligned with cursor and not object

Just updated to InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) and had to switch back to the previous version due to the smart guides functioning strangely. The guides should show up in the center or edge of the object so that I can align it properly on the page and in relation to other objects. Instead, it's producing the guidelines from wherever my cursor is when I click and drag the object. This has made it much more difficult to do simple things like center objects, since it's just centering my cursor instead. I've never had any desire to align things based on…

  11. Find/Replace text (date) after using Convert Date to Text function

I am trying to replace text in multiple stories throughout the document. Each story is formatted with text and tabs (not a table). The find/change uses the FIND/CHANGE>TEXT option. I am searching for "28 May 2025" to change it to "2 July 2025". When I search, find, find/change, and change all, the results append the page number in triplicate in front of the leading date digit. For example, page 9 (attached) is "0909092 July 2025" and page 42 is "4242422 July 2025". When I copied the text to include in this report (see attached), only date date is captured in…

  12. Opening a document now causes lag for about 30 seconds, where I have no control

    1. Version of Adobe InDesign: 17.1
    2. Steps to reproduce the issues: a. Open document from the Mac Finder. (This lag happens whether I start with InDesign open or closed. b. I have zero control of anything while a progress indicator spins for about 30 seconds. c. A font error dialog pops up, and then I can finally control InDesign, starting by dismissing that dialog. Expected result: I expect instant control of InDesign, since my computer isn't that old and it's a pro model. Actual result: Slowness, lag - way too much, considering most of my documents are 8 pages long with…

  13. paragraph lines don't fit rounded frame-line

When using rounded corners on textframes, paragraph-lines don't fit to the right frame.
We use it with 0,5-pt-framelines and there is a small distance between both lines.
Depending on typesize (and perhaps on other parameters), the distance has different measures.

  14. No frame edges for lines or ankerpoint visible anymore?

Problem: Line objects no longer have "frame edges" in the normal view! Lines without line thickness, white lines (which do not lie over a background), individual nodes are thus invisible in the layout!

To find slipped lines again or to find several rest fragments like single nodes again becomes a patience and search game!

The (line-) or frame edges appear only if you either select everything or if you move the mouse over the line or the single node randomly (mouseover). Simple is different!

This was not always so! No idea when this was changed! But it was a very…

  15. have to choose export folder every time

In CC2019 and before, Indesign seemed to remember, in which folder it was exporting last. So when I was in Job A, it would offer me Folder A to begin with. When I was in Job B, it would offer mit Folder B to begin with.

In CC2020 (under 10.15.1) it seems Indesign shows the last folder I was woring in. So when I am in Job A an chose Folder A by hand, then close the job and open Job B, When exporting the file would be saved in folder A. Which is quite annoying to be honest. I…

  16. map Word lists to InDesign lists and paragraph styles

As the InDesign help documentation notes (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/map-export-manage-styles.html), "Text styles with bullet or number lists may not be copied or exported to a different application with the bullets or numbers intact." The suggested workflow is extremely time-consuming for a long document where every paragraph is assigned to a hierarchical outline structure in Word, since each paragraph has to be manually assigned to the correct paragraph style and the Word outline numbering that was converted to text needs to be manually deleted. In addition, when placing the document, it creates a separate new "imported list" style from each Word list,…

  17. Find/Change Search field always switches to "Story" after I choose to "Change All"

When using the Find/Change box on a text selection, the "Search:" field gets changed from "Selection" to "Story" after I press the "Change All" button.
This is incredibly annoying when I'm trying to change multiple things in the same selection, since I have to switch the option back between every change I make.
I'm not sure if this is a bug, or how it's intended to work, but I hope it can be revised so that InDesign remembers my choice between changes.
I am using the most current version of InDesign at this moment, 15.0.1

  18. [Windows] InDesign/InCopy CC2018 is crashing on document close (icml file with anchored pdf file)

InDesign/InCopy CC2018 have an issue with PDF (and probably AI) files used as anchors in text frames when the Display Performance/Vector Graphics option is set to High Resolution.

    Steps to reproduce:
As I'm unable to attach a zip file in here (why?) here's the link to the example:
    https://adobe.ly/2Uc2pcN

    1. Start InDesign/InCopy (with settings/cache cleared)
    2. Menu: Edit -> Preferences -> Display Performance -> Adjust View Settings -> Vector Graphics [set to: High Resolution]
    3. Open "crash-example.idml" file.
    4. Select "Update Links" in the dialog (if asked)
    5. Replace crash-example.icml file with a file found in "replace-file-1" folder
    6. Update Content of the text frame (menu…

  19. Publish Online Analytics slow or failing

Many of us have raised the publish online dashboard analytics slow loading and/or complete failure to work and it still seems to ne ignored.

We have noticed across our design team that analytics seems to work differently across different accounts. Accounts with less documents published online have greater success and speed in returning analytics. Those with over a 100 documents for example have limited success.

We think this maybe due to that when you request the analytics for a 'single' document Adobe systems are not just loading that 'single' document. They are processing the whole account and all documents within.

  20. Save/Save as corrupts file

    InDesign 2021, running on Mac OS 10.14.6, on a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)

I recently "upgraded" my version of InDesign to the latest 2021 version. I thought, why not, new features, upgraded stability.

    Or so I thought....

I started working on a document, a newsletter, that I retrieved from our archive as it is a quarterly magazine. I opened the file and proceeded to start working on it. Did a couple of pages and thought I'd better save it.

Command+s, message pops up saying this file is damaged and/or corrupt, save it as something else. Which I did, and…
