'Save As' doesn't clear the undo stack
InDesign version: 21.5.1.73
Saving a document using Save As should clear the undo stack, but InDesign stopped doing that. This is a problem because the over time, the undo stack increases a document's size enormously.
To reproduce the problem:
- Open the attached document. It has three small text frames on page 1: one placed, two duplicates.
- Verify the document's undo stack: in the Edit menu you'll see Undo Duplicate. Press Ctrl+Z a few times and the frames are removed.
- Use Save As to save the document.
Expected result: The undo stack should have been removed, Ctrl+Z should do nothing.
Actual result: The undo stack is not deleted. Ctrl+Z does not remove the frames.

My results when I tried to reproduce the problem:
InDesign 21.5.1 x64, Windows Home
1. Open the document provided by Peter.
2. In the Edit menu, "Undo" is greyed out.
3. Delete two of the frames.
4. Use Save As to save the document.
5. The Edit menu shows "Undo Delete".
6. Choose "Undo Delete" from the edit menu.
InDesign quits with an unexpected error.2nd attempt:
Repeated the steps above.
Same result. InDesign quit with an unexpected error.InDesign 21.5.1 macOS Sequoia 15.7.7
Same steps as above, same result: choose "Undo Delete" from the Edit menu and InDesign immediately quits with an unexpected error. -

The Save As trick is crucial for many automated workflows that can do thousands of operations per minute. As the undo stack increases in size, the performance of InDesign degrades exponentially.
