copy/paste of URL loses character style
>>>ID 15.0.2; Mac OS 10.14.6
>- >
- >
>copy a passage containing a URL formatted with a character style
> >
- >
>paste the passage
> >
>expect char. style to be retained
>>actual: char.. style is eliminated; reverts to [None]
>>This happens when char. style is named 'Hyperlink' or when a char. style with another name is used.
>>Related issue: 'New Hyperlink from URL' always creates and applies default char. style Hyperlink unless I name my char. style for URLs 'Hyperlink'; 'hyperlink', for example, will not be applied.

enableRedraw = false ignored during script run
>>>During a loop to load text snippets to my page ID 2020 ignores the fact that enableRedraw=false and DOES redraw the page on every loop
>>app.scriptPreferences.enableRedraw = false;

>>The text is inserted into 8 different frames -- during the loop it SHOULDN'T redraw the page -- but it does (slowing the script down)

Using glyphs in a text variable
>>I've defined a text variable that I use for a running header. This variable is defined from the first use of a "chapter title" paragraph style that I've also defined. I've inserted this variable on my A-master page, which is synced between documents in my book. The problem I'm running into is that I've used a number of glyphs in the text comprising the first use of that style, and the text variable (my running header) looks garbled: it's missing letters and has mixed caps. If it matters, the font I'm using is Orpheus Pro Bold.

Disappearing text when I type the character ,,T"
>>So, I have an InDesign file, which is a brandbook for a partner. Few paragraph styles and some items, nothing secial. I use Prompt (Google font) installed on my system. As soon as I hit (smallcaps) T when writing the text OR becomes unvisible or it breakes to the basic paragraph style AND it wont display the T. IF I copy and paste the text from outside of InDesign then it displays T. And the All Caps T works as well. This bugg is really annoying. Could you look into this issue?

text turns into Symbols
>>>When I place a document from Word into InDesign and apply a paragraph style the fonts all change to Symbol font. This has been going on for years through multiple versions of the program. Can you please fix it? Or explain how to avoid it?

Metadata, text variables in Indesign
>>>Indesign don't insert Metadata (XMP) from the orioginal images downloaded from stock.adobe.com (as text variable); the downloaded image has to open in Photoshop and to »Save as«. Then the XMP-Metadata could be read by Indesign (as text variable).

ID crashes inserting a symbol as index reference.
>>>ID crashes inserting a symbol as index reference.
>>Not a new problem by the looks of it.
>
> It doesn't matter whether I type a reference, copy and paste it or highlight text and use shortcut keys. ID always crashes if a symbol is the first thing in the index reference.>however, if 'Sort by' is used and that doesn't start with a symbol it is okay. But this is only 'useful' when that is relevant, which is not always.

InDesign CC2023 forces paragraph in overset
>>Since the update to InDesign v18.0 (CC2023) the first line of a Paragraph with custom Bullet (Numbering) text, gets forced in overset when the first word is longer than 8-9 characters. They don't flow to the next paragraph and there is still enough space to keep the word in the Text Frame.
…
> In the example you'll see two Text Frames with one with the word "Duurzaamheid" cut in two and the second in overset with no space between "Duur" and "zaamheid" wich forces everything in overset. In InDesign 17.4 everything works as desired. Uploading an InDesign-file was not6 votesFix for this issue is now available in the latest release of InDesign 2023 - that is, InDesign 18.1 version.
Please update to this version of InDesign to get the fix.

Highlighting text in a table does not highlight the corresponding text in the story editor
>>>CC2020
>>When I highlight text in a table, I would expect the same text to appear highlighted in the story editor. Instead, the story editor jumps to the beginning of the document.

Add option to allow non-rounded inset text inside a text box with rounded corners.
>>>Please add an option to allow inset spacing on a text box with rounded corners to follow the rectangular shape of the box, rather than the shape of the rounded corners.
>>ie. Make it act like the example on the left of my image, rather than like the right, which is the current behaviour.

QR generated by text variable
>>>Would be great if you could generate a QR Code from a text variable. Just for automation purposes. For instance on datasheets or brochures, where a single URL is used throughout in text, but also as a QR code on the last page.

V18.4-18.5 Text boxes shrinking fractional and hiding last line of text PLUS then 'over-set text' error message not flagging this problem up
>>>I sent a job to print and after it came back 3 text boxes had shrunk fractionally to hide the last line of text. When I then went to make a press-ready pdf, it didn't flag up this error by warning me of "over-set text", so I did not catch this problem in time.
>>Please see attached files -
>>My stage 5 of the document, and then the final artwork file for it, with the boxes highlighted.
>>I didn't get any warning messages for 'over-set text' to flag this missing text up.

Applying a paragraph style causes text to appear duplicated on screen, but it's not really.
>>>CC 2018, OS High Sierra, both most current, brand new install on a brand new iMac Pro.
>>If I apply a style using a key command, 90% of the time the text from the cursor down goes crazy, looks duplicated. But if I hit the key command again, or click off the paragraph, or scroll, it goes away and is normal. So it's not really duplicating anything as far as I can tell. I screen captured exactly what it looks like.
