Till yet InDesign CC does not recognize some common Arabic Marks
Till yet InDesign CC does not recognize some commonly used Quranic Arabic marks like uni08F0, uni08F1 and uni0F82, though these are added to Unicode several years ago. Images, test file and test font "Uthman" are added.
First image shows these marks.
Second image shows their correct placement above or below the letters in MS Word and the wrong result in InDesign CC.
Test font "Uthman" and test indesign document are attached.1 vote -

Hover Scrolling Disabling
PLEASE introduce an option to disable hover scrolling on selection. If I have selected a text box and want to scroll down to align options in Properties, I always end up changing the leading, language, font, etc. I don't know anyone that would want to use hover scrolling to make those changes. Maybe click and drag like the other apps would work. Please look into this issues as it has been years and this has not been fixed.

optical margin alignment
InDesign 19.0 (2024): Optical margin alignment does not work (well), contrary to the previous versions. The problem doesn not depend on a certain font, it is a general problem.

Indesign 2020 doesn't convert older InDesign files so they are useable
When I open older InDesign files (pre-2019) in 2020, the program hangs and I get the spinny wheel and have to force quit. It also doesn't load italic version of system font Palatino. The workaround is to open them in 2019, why can't 2020 open older files properly?

Adobe 2020 build 15.0.2 - loses installed fonts
When working with InDesign 2020, fonts that are installed on the system, go missing especially if I either export some pages as a PDF, or package the file. If I quit InDesign and restart, InDesign finds the fonts and I can work with the document until I do another PDF export or package the file.
I never had this problem with InDesign 2019 and earlier. It just started with InDesign 2020 and build 15.0.2.3 votes -

Paragraph style not applying when selecting the wanted style
Indesign version 20.0.1
When highlighting the desired text that I wish to apply the paragraph style to and clicking on the preferred paragraph style. The click animation attempts to very briefly 'grab' the style rather than select it. This works on any paragraph style I try.
I have a similar issue when selecting a colour swatch to apply, the only option is to grab and drag the desired swatch to where it is needed.
I also cannot change the font when selecting the text I wish to change and selecting a font from the drop down.
This is only a…

User Interface half in English (default) and half in Russian
When I go to my drop-down menu one of them is in Russian.
The only issue I have found is with the dropdown under Type (English) > Text Variable (English) > Insert Veriable (Russian). Only in Russian on some documents I open, not all.
I updated my InDesign to v 17.21 today.

Clearly a bug in InDesign CC
While working on an Arabic font I need to kern the space U+0020 between certain letters. So the required lookup is added to the font, with instructions to apply kerning whether the preceding letter have marks (above or below) or no marks at all i.e. the kerning is not effected by the preceding letter's marks. The Arabic script is written in right to left direction.
Now the MS Word is showing the correct behavior as shown in the image. The first pair (without marks) and the second pair (with brown marks) both are kerned as instructed by font but…

installing new fonts and indesign crashes
I am very afraid to install any new fonts honestly. Illustration and photoshop work just fine but InDesign crashes constantly because of fonts; it just freezes. would appreciate it if it gets fixed in an update.

We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

InDesign 2019/2020, PDF export deletes components of some composite CJK glyphs when they overlap
Install the test font in the attached zip and open the the InDesign document. Exporting to PDF clears out the top part. This did not happen in 2018.
I initially reported this to Josh Hadley on 23 Jan 2020, who wrote up an internal report and came back to me, saying the InDesign team could reproduce and suggested working around the issue by decomposing everything or diverting the export through PostScript/Distiller. A very large client told us that this is not an option for them and would like a direct fix.

Unknown Script 33 (InDesign 19.5)
Hello, I'm a Type-Design and I'm currently developing a typeface and encountering an issue during the export process. When attempting to use the font in Adobe InDesign, I receive an error code "Unknown Script 33" upon selecting the font. The typeface includes two styles: plain and italic. The issue seems to be linked to the PostScript name, which varies based on how I rename it in FontLab.
Notably, the font functions correctly in InDesign when only the plain or italic file is activated individually. The problem might be related to certain TrueType metadata, as indicated by the "(OTF)"…

beachball
Activating a font or fonts while InDesign CC2018 is running results in frustrating beachballs until you restart InDesign. Also do not open your pages panel because it will cost you 5 min. of your life untli ID responds again.

"Punched-in" values are not properly input. Possible latency issue.
For example, when punching in numbers to resize an object, the first number will often go ignored.
Also, when punching in new values for type (Font Size and Leading), when hitting TAB (from Font Size) to punch in a new Leading value, the value will not completely replace the current value if currently an "auto" value if I begin typing immediately. This results in an unwelcomed and unwarranted "invalid numeric value" popup.
This has been happening ever since I can remember (all CC versions)
