1. InDesign crashing when exporting book to pdf

   Hi there. I just got updated InDesign through CC and am in the process of updating old files/documents created in CS5.5. Several of them are InDesign books including 6-10 separate documents (there are a couple books which share similar documents). I'm able to export the individual documents as a pdf just fine, but when I try to export the book it crashes. I've tried recreating the book with the same documents, but no luck. Other ideas?

   We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

2. CC libraries

   CC Libraries doesn't load up properly, the drop down menu only stays open if I hold down left click on the mouse and doesn't load the library I want when I release.

   This bug has only come since the most recent update to CC2018 13.1. Running High Sierra on an iMac Pro 2017

3. Character Style "Include Classes in HTML" checkbox removes whole tag

   The "Include Classes in HTML" checkbox doesn't work for Character Styles. Whereas paragraph styles and object style export without the class, character styles actually export without the tag at all—losing any formatting for that style. This is the case both in HTML and EPUB export.

4. Publish Online download PDF kills buttons/interactivity

   Steps to reproduce: post a Publish Online document, then click to download a PDF.
   
   Expected result: all buttons and interactivity would remain.
   Actual result: all buttons disappear and all interactivity is lost. Occurs in both Chrome and Safari, on desktop and handhelds.
   Using ID 13.1 on Mac High Sierra.

5. InDesign performance issue: Slow interface

   The new document window is painfully slow. The pallets such as the background task pallet take some visible time to initialise themselves. As a whole the UI is always lagging.

   I'm on a new iMac Pro and this is completely unacceptable. It feels as though the interface is getting in the way instead of making work easier.

6. When setting the frame grid with the shortcut key, it becomes an unintended font display

   InDesign Ver.13.0.1 x64(CC 2018) Japanese Edition
   Windows

   1. make new document
   2. make new frame grid
   3. select frame grid
   4. press key "Ctrl+B", and open dialog

   A font that starts with "B" installed in the system is displayed in the font setting of the dialog.
   Should be displayed is the default "Kozuka Mincho Pr6 N".

   CC 2017 and older versions are no problem.

7. running headers does not show numbers

   Running headers does not show the auto numbering for a paragraph style. This would be so much better to have this rather than using a third party plug-in. The best of which is no longer supported for CC.

   Cursor Direction when typing Arabic or other RTL languages. in Middle Eastern version ONLY.

   1. All Middle Eastern versions (English يدعم العربية)

   2. Type Arabic text. Place the cursor within text. Hold "Shift" key and click on right arrow key on the keyboard to select/highlight text. Cursor moves left and select next character on the left while clicking on right arrow.

   3. To select a character to the left of the cursor, we should hold (Shift+left arrow) To select a character to the right of the cursor, we should hold (Shift+right arrow)

   4. What actually is happening now and for over 20 years when we had Adobe PageMaker ME and Adobe Illustrator ME is the opposite cursor behavior to the what we're trying to select. 10. Sound not working when Publish Online

    I'm working on a book to be an epub. The epub version works perfectly (sound/animation), then I had to make another version for the publish online. The problem was, when convert to publish online directly, sound was going on way before it's page, for example, on the first page we were hearing the next 4 pages almost at the same time. I solved this problem by inserting play/pause buttons for the sounds. It was working perfectly fine last week, and now this week, some pages don't play sound at all. But in the epub preview in InDesign, everything is working perfectly fine.

11. Publish Online URL links breaking website functionality

    File Created in Indesign CC 2017

    I have created a test interactive document with links to product DG012 on our company website.

    When the link is clicked from publish online it opens the page but seems to disable all scripts that run on the website. e.g. search field and add to cart no longer functions on that page.

    The website itself functions correctly if you navigate to the link manually ( http://www.lockhart.co.uk/Table-Service-and-Buffet/Buffet-Display/Display-Stands/Rafters-F usion-1-2-Board~p~DG012 ).

    Interestingly in safari the add to cart button functions but the search field is still disabled.

    On closer inspection it seems to be an iframe issue -

    Rafters-Fusion-1-2-Board~p~DG012:1 Blocked form submission to '/cart/add' because the form's frame is sandboxed and the 'allow-forms' permission is not set.

12. Double running header and multiple stories

    Running headers will not reset to blank when used with multiple stories.
    Create a multi-page document, and flow some text into. Create two paragraph styles (Section # and a Section header). Create a running header using both with a page number (P [Section #:] [Section header]) on the master page.

    Now, if you add a new section # and a Section header a couple pages in, the footer will update. If you put a blank Section # paragraph, the section number will disappear from the footer (as it should). Now, if you start a new the story on a new page and put a blank Section # paragraph and a Section Header style at the beginning of the new story, the Section header in the running footer will update, but the section # will stay the same as the previous story. It will not blank out. It should behave the same as when there is a single story in use. This is a bug that has been forcing me to manually edit my footers for some time. I would really like it to be fixed.

    1) Version of Adobe InDesign: CC 2018 (latest release)

    2) Steps to reproduce the issues:
    i) Create a text box with type tool. Enter text.
    ii) Create a text field with "buttons and forms" or insert a picture.
    iii) Anchor text field (or picture) to the end of the text in the text box.
    iv) Drag text box into Articles panel.
    v) Ensure "Include Article" is selected.
    vi) Select "use for reading order in tagged PDF" in Articles panel menu.
    vii) Export to PDF (save as interactive is using the text field).

    3) Expected result:

    Text field (or picture) will be tagged (probably within the P tag)

    4) Actual result:

    Text field (or picture) is not tagged.

    The text field (or picture) only tags if they are not anchored and are placed individually in the articles panel.

    When exporting to tagged PDF without use of the Articles panel, the anchored picture will tag, but the anchored text field will not tag. The text field will only tag if it is not anchored.

14. Font outlined when exporting to pdf

    When I export to pdf and open the document in Acrobat, I have no issues with fonts. But, if I want to open the file in Illustrator (we have a special procedure to add the pdf file to one drawing in iIllustrator), I get this alert: To preserve appearance, some text has been outlined. When I checked the Background tasks in InDesign, it gives me the following alert - image attached.
    We have the copyrights on fonts. Glyphs are mentioned in the alert, but not all of them are outlined. Using CC 2018 13.1

16. Hunspell dictionaries cannot be added in Sierra or High Sierra

    Adding Hunspell dictionaries breaks code-signing, and results in the whole of InDesign's spelling system being sand-boxed by OSX.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. On High Sierra and InDesign CC, add a Hunspell dictionary, as detailed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/add_cs_dictionaries.html

    2. Spell-check any InDesign document using the new dictionary and spell-checking then becomes unusable, until InDesign is uninstalled then re-installed.

    The following types of errors are produced in the console, showing that it's a code-signing issue, caused by dictionaries being installed within the Hunspell plugin bundle.

    Can I suggest that there should be another place to install additional languages, outside the InDesign application.

    The only way I can work with Latin and Ancient Greek languages currently is to use an El Capitan Mac, which does not have the sandboxing.

    AMFI: Check-fix enabled for binary '/Applications/Adobe InDesign CC 2018/Resources/Dictionaries/LILO/Linguistics/Providers/Plugins2/AdobeHunspellPlugin.bundl e/Contents/MacOS/AdobeHunspellPlugin' with TeamID 'JQ525L2MZD', identifier 'com.adobe.adobehunspellplugin2': broken signature treated as unsigned without privileges. This workaround will not work for software built on or after 10.12.

17. Copy/Paste of image/graphic blocks very slow

    Adobe InDesign CC 13.1 on Sierra
    The copy and paste of graphic blocks in the same doc is very slow. When there is not a large number of links, it is pretty ok BUT when adding a lot of new picture links, the wheel keeps turning during ca. 10/15 seconds after each copy and paste of a graphic block also.

    The temporary solution is to change the name of the image folder so to disable the dynamic links to pictures. But not ideal.

18. Data Merge to PDF (using the new single page export feature) does not work properly

    Using the packaged folder attached, go to the Data Merge panel and select Export to PDF. Click OK on the first dialog box and in the second dialog box, make sure the "Create Separate PDF files" checkbox is checked.
    Expected result - 6 PDFs that have correct content in each PDF.
    Actual result - 6 PDFs that have incorrect content. PDF 1 is fine, but PDFs 2-6 are the same content as PDF 2.

    2. Up-scale or down-scale an item (picture, text, etc.)
    3. Up-scaling or down-scaling the item correctly.
    4. Unable to scaling properly and all the workspace disappear. The scaling seems to works without any Enter key being press. So ...when I press Enter or Tab, the workspace disappear. I have to go to the menu, change it to another one before reset it to mine.
    5. The printscreen won't help in this case.
