  1. full folder information when opening an existing InDesign file

When I try to open an existing InDesign document from inside the InDesign program I don't get the full range of folders (1). This does not change when going to an upper level and into the detail again despite there is an original InDesign file in one of the hidden folders. I have to go to Windows explorer (2 and 3) to start the file.

  2. Make cells split over 2 pages like they do in Word

Please Make cells split over 2 pages like they do in Word. We publish very large books that are updated all the time, having to manually cut cells at every page is an unimaginably heavy work load! And it is wasted work. It has to be redone every edition!

  3. Hyperlinks should create automatically https and individual Alt-Text for mail-hyperlink

Interactive PDF creation should automatically create "https:" instead of the obsolete "http" for the hyperlinks. It should be possible to enter your own "alt" text for the e-mail link - this looks like an error when the user hovers over it with the mouse and gets %%%, etc. Therefore, unfortunately, I still solve it with a hyperlink "mailto:",... because at least this is also displayed here again. A sorting function for the hyperlinks would also be great - i.e. a folder system. Accessibility should also be significantly simplified here - that would be great.

  4. Proper Relative Path Manager for Links

Allow us the ability to specify relative paths to linked assets to aid in duplication of jobs and production work.

A copied file will remember all static addresses to it's previous location.

In a scenario of using templates to complete jobs where assets get replaced and flipped, you lose time linking assets to the new address when the copied ID file should be able to look within it's new HOME FOLDER, and attempt to refresh all links.

Exporting from said file is also problematic, as the destination folder is still the "original location" and not the new file location…

  5. Please allow the ID/IC workflow to function with the Creative Cloud Files area

Right now, if you store your InDesign and InCopy files in CC Files and share (collaborate) that folder with your team, all the files are synced EXCEPT the lock files for InDesign and InCopy. This prevents users working on the same project from knowing if someone else has opened an InDesign file or has checked out a story (ICML) file. SO people try to use Dropbox, Google Drive, or Box, all of which have figured out how to sync the lock files for checked-out stories at least. No one as far as I know has been able to sync the…

  6. Folders in Pages Panel

Folders in Pages Panel would be most excellent!! So multiple chapters/sections of long documents can be combined and closed up for quicker navigation.

  7. Setting for location of new text-to-image generated images

Can there be a setting option for the default location of new text-to-image generated images - I would like to be able to set this to the folder containing the current document rather than the user/documents folder. Thanks!

  9. Decide what folder that will be synced in creative cloud

Since we can have really big data storage in the creative cloud today I miss the function to choose what folders/projects I need on my local device that has less amount of storage than my cloud license. So I suggest a function Microsoft OneDrive have like "free up space" that removes the local copy. Most cooperate computers don have 1Tb disks so today with shared folders you can fill your disk quick and you cant control it in a good way.

  11. Please add proper standard printing condition(s) and icc-profiles

Adobe, please change the standard color presets for printing to the proper standard printing conditions and profiles that are published by the European Color Initaitive ECI (eci.org.). The icc-profiles are publically available.
Actually, Adobe still uses outdated FOGRA39 characterization data by default, second Adobe applies FOGRA39 in an own icc-profile that differs from the standard-profile by the ECI.
FOGRA39 is outdated, it's been replaced by FOGRA51 since years, for good reason. ECI has published the corresponding standard ICC-profile "PSO coated v3", which should find it's way into Adobe's color settings. Please integrate the official ECI-profiles, because these are…

  12. Add a "View" option "a spread as single pages"

My idea is to create an option in the VIEW panel, to see your spread as single pages, where they are broken apart and still on the left or right, but separated... Here's why...

Amazon is becoming one of the largest online stores around. Their "create space" content uploader is requiring an interior bleed on your books. So if anyone wants to create a facing page spread in indesign, they will need to separate the pages into single pages so that they can work on making sure the graphics cover the bleed area as well as export properly since both…

  13. Relative path to linked excel tables and images

I have folders structure for my engineering report. I want to use it for other projects too. So I need possibility to set relative paths for linked tables and pictures to have possibility to copy whole report structure to the new place and repeate all calculations and make new report. Now I have to copy structure, rename old project folder to force InDesign to take new project folder, open new report book, update all links, save new report book with all documents. Restore name of old project folder.

  14. Folders within dashboard

Would be good to be able to organise published documents into folders. Like many users, we are piling up documents and need to get more organised with them. One long list isn't helpful

  15. Password protect an ebook

I was disappointed after I spent many hours creating an online ebook tutorial to sell to our customers when I discovered there is no way to password protect an ebook. Please consider adding this feature.

    Thanks

  16. Expand PublishOnline Analytics

I absolutely love PublishOnline. Is there a plan anytime soon to add to the analytics capabilities with Adobe PublishOnline anytime soon? The features on the dashboard for all published documents are great, but it would be even better to have those same analytics broken down by document - not just views and readers. I'd like to know how much time is spent, for instance, in a newsletter I've published vs. a catalog or flyer. And it would be great to know which documents tend to be read more on tablets vs desktop, rather than all…

Thank you all for your support on this feature request. Evidently, stronger analytics, would ensure better decision making.

I’ll be reaching out to some of you to gather more inputs on this feature request.
Your feedback will go a long way to help us define the feature better.

  17. Please, please turn off the automatic hyphenation in a document. This hyphenates all words at the end of all lines.

Please turn off automatic hyphenation. I publish in other languages in which any hyphenation must be manually inserted.

At the moment the automatic hyphenation places a hyphen at the end of nearly every line. This totally destroys the readability of the language.

I know that you can untick the box for every style in every chapter, but this adds a burden-and time- to the task.

  18. Rotate - it needs an 'oscillate' or 'reverse' tick box

Absolutely love the animation within Publish Online, really allows me to get client engagement. BUT.... it's missing something very vital - when you set a rotation, it only goes one-way. It needs to be able to reverse at the end of the rotation - so to rotate back to home position again. I strongly believe this would massively improve the animation options

  19. Numbering Pages

I wish you could make it easy to number pages - as easy as on Word. It is so complicated on InDesign and I have failed to make it work. As a result, I have had to publish books without numbered pages, and that is frustrating for all.

  20. Allow InCopy to be edited remotely by 3rd Parties (eg clients)

We prepare large copy-heavy documents for our clients using InDesign and InCopy. However, our clients are not technically minded and do not have access (or the technical ability) to the Adobe software needed to open such documents and provide edits/comments.

We therefore have to cut/paste the InCopy into a Microsoft Word document and send this, so that the client can edit/change/comment as necessary. They then return the Word file to us, and we re-link or re-copy the changes back into InCopy.

Unfortunately, during this process we often lose the formatting and pagenation, increasing the time it takes for the edits…
