Not only importing the files, but relinking them is also greyed out. I've had clients use .psb files in their InDesign documents and when I go to relink them, they are greyed out. We had to resave as .psd to relink. Thankfully they weren't very large to begin with.

You even get the right Import Options for placing PhotoShop files.

Which Einstein at Adobe decided to release a Photoshop file format that cannot be placed into an ID document? Adobe calls these applications a "suite," but they seem more like competitors. They do everything differently and do not work together any better than QXP or Freehand did. Adobe is must be the worst company on the planet.

Without this capability, Adobe is limiting the quality of large wall mural prints. This is a must for Adobe to fix or provide a solution.

You can import PSB:

- on mac, use drag & drop to place your PSB from Finder to InDesign. You can edit that file in Photoshop using "Edit Original" command, and it will be correctly updated in InDesign. I do not know why it is not possible to choose PSB directly in place dialog

- on windows, i think it is an option to show all files in place dialog and then choose PSB (not sure, but so i remember when i got externally supplied document with placed PSB and experimenting how it was done... i on my mac and colleague on windows).

Also i vote up to allow import PSB using standard place dialog.
